It really isn't too uncommon, I think. I remember a long time again when Megaman/Rockman Zero first came out it was in ROM form a few days before the Japanese release. Fun times.

You have to dash into the dinosaur a few times, then talk to your friends. You should then get into a fight.

I'm at the bit with Flint and Boney now after the big rain. I'll prolly not play this for awhile after this just in case the game DOES come to the states. This is one game I prolly won't play in japanese first, just because of the dialogue. If I knew japanese, it would be a different story…
I love that they kept the music battle system from the 64 version. So innovative!

Well, except that there was a 10K SIGNATURE PETITION to have the game even MADE. I doubt any business would ignore something that substantial, especially when the majority of the signatures were from people living in the US.

Nintendo has a skewed idea of what US gamers do and do not want. They probably think Mother 3 would have little sales… no matter how much we, the actual gamers, say otherwise.

I'm still holding on to a distant dream that they never released Mother 1+2 here because they were going to save it to release at the same time as Mother 3 so each one will help the sales of the other.
Or maybe even release them together in a pack for us. If only my world was true.

I never played one of the Mother games. So I decided to try this out.
Knowing very little Japanese, I'm having trouble naming the characters.
Should I just type in random Kana and expect for the best?

Anyway, the game seems awesome. But, I'm also going to hope for an English version, so I'm not going to be playing the rom much.
I know that a fan translation will eventually come if there's not an English release. Too bad I really want to play the game portable…I really like portable rpgs, because they are the only kind of rpgs I have time to finish. That's also why I still want 1+2 to come out, because although I got near the end of it (on my SNES cartridge), I never actually finished Earthbound. If I had it portable then I could finally finish it.
The only reason I ever finished FFIV was because of the recent GBA version (on my SNES version I only got about half way through). Portable rpgs rule.

Eh…something tells me Mother 3 wouldn't sell that well here. It's for the really hardcore RPG fan market (including me). Being an RPG, it takes longer to translate and localize. To my knowledge, the Fire Emblem games don't sell all that well in NA, and a sequel to a fifteen-year-old game...I don't see many more than the old veterans and hardcore fans really going for it.
However, I must add...
This game simply kicks ass at a new level of kick ass than ass has ever been kicked before.

The characters in Mother 3 that join you are pretty weird. There are definately more than 4 "main characters" that join and assist you, and Christy wonders if there will be more than 4 playable characters at the end which means PARTY SWITCHING (although that'd be annoying and not Mother-esque).
AND DUDE, there's like… SAD stuff in it! It's amazing! It made CHRISTY want to cry! boo hoo Meh, but being an emotional female, that's not saying much.

BTW, last night's "celebration" over at starmen.net was pretty rewarding. Guys who tuned in to the radio got to hear some M3 music and I can say this: the music in this game…..IS FREAKING SWEET! It's pretty hi quality for a GBA game. And yes, there are some remixes in there too.

I've been playing on and off. Just beat Chapter 2 in the castle with Duster and now I am Salsa the Monkey in the desert.

hey has anybody figured out how to time the music and get double and tripple hits, even when I put someone to sleep and hear the beat of the music I still cant pull it off with every character. right now im on chapter 7, oh and fyi level up constantly it reeeeeeeallly helps later on in the game.
