Just a random thought…in something that keep bothering me...

I don't like these anime movies that can't be put in the "real" timeline, like all the DBZ movies...
But so far, for me, all the one piece movies can be placed somewhere in the series, am I right??...

Edit: Just remind something, Movie 3 cannot...Chopper is already a nakama, and Nico isn't....but Vivi isn't with then.... (sorry for all the mispelling...i'm brazilian)

None of the movies are really supposed to fit in with the series. Just vaguely.

Well, stretching it a little we could say movie 7 is right before Davy Back Fight (Gear 2 aside), or even after it, since in anime we have a filler arc there. The third one, though, would be totally wrong, since they never sailed in a group of 6 with Chopper.
But yeah, any movie works better when you don't think too much and just see it like a separate adventure.

Think of the OP Movies as the equivalent of a Gantz game. The Strawhats are out adventuring when they are suddenly abudcted by Gantz who tells them their lives are over (that's the theory, anyway) and they're forced into a scenario they have to complete. At the end of the scenario (movie), the Strawhats points (box office gross) are totalled and they're sent back into the real world.

Perfect sense, really. It's just like plucking the Strawhats out of where they are in the manga and plopping them down in another timeline.

Well this movie can actually fit in a period after Ao Kiji fight and before Water7

Since Luffy started thinking of Gear 2 after the fight with Ao Kiji that could work and by that time Nico Robin was still a crew member

Maybe this could be the first try Luffy made for Gear 2

This could fit in if you simply figure that Franky doesn't join the crew. But whether it can fit or not, not too many people care. Actually, it'd be a little disappointing if any had the possibility of happening, because non-Oda plots generally suck tons of kangaroo ass.

…..? Well, I won't lie, that was certainly original.
