Honestly, I own some HK subs, which I got before I was able to use K-F. But I just can't help laughing at the subtitles.:laugh:

HK bootlegs are about as humorous as the actual series. I enjoyed it a lot. But I switched to K-F when I found them.

I downloaded a couple of HK subs. The quality was really hard to deal with. I ended up skipping a few eps as well, since I really hate Norland, and I wanted to see how the Skypia arc was going to end. I wasn't exactly happy with the ending though, I'll tell ya that. I also ended up skipping the G8 arc since I was gonna wait for the fansubs to come out and plus it didn't even really seem to affect the plot a great deal.
I still don't know how the fzck did they make Wiper into "Weob". I could understand Upper Yard into Apayado, but some of them are like "WTF?". Don't forget the "Haingis" (Sanji)!

I've seen some HK episodes a few times. They're beyond crappy and hilarious! I was actually pretty close to buying the DVDs, too since this was before I knew about K-F. At least they'd be better than the dub. The store that was selling them was showing the last episode of Alabasta when Robin joined. I thought "Wow, so this is what One Piece is like uncut!" Man, was I wrong. The second I saw Luffy translated to Roof, and the weird translation I knew something was up. I thought they were just really bad fansubs.
It was Cosmic who told me the truth about HK. And to think I was gonna actually buy them! Wow, I'm glad I found out about K-F.

Err, I think it was just a misspelling (heck, I could have it wrong. I think that's what they called him in Jaya and some of Skypiea). Like Nickelbao for Robin or Darschy for Tashigi.

Or parts where you can tell there's supposed to be an uber-important or cool line, but the subtitles say nothing.

I downloaded the HK subs, I got some of it. I read the manga as well. Kinda glad I did it, the WAter 7 arc is great. I watched it all with my little brother, except for the G8 arc…door=hymen? How?!

Almost sounds like how Luffy would pronounce when his mouth is squished or something.
For to say if Sanji was squishing Luffy's mouth in a very threatening manner, Luffy would be like… "Bwut... Swanjishi..." "Dwemo... Xwianjishi"

I watched them to bridge the gap between Kaizoku-fansubs and Gerusama.
Got about halfway through them to about the past story in Skypiea and screamed WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON and started reading the manga
Though I continued watching them all the way through. So very glad I did because Water 7 and Enie's is so worth the brain rape HK subs give you.'Breaking through the hymen' is still one of the greatest HK subs, ever, IMO.

Oh yeah, I bought them on Ebay. The bad subbing didn't bother me that much, I managed to follow that action anyway. What really bothered me was when the video quality went bad on me during Drum Island arc. It looked like someone taped OP over a previously recorded videotape. It had this faint green and black line running down the screen.:laugh:

I watched them to fill the gap between 170 and 207. They were pretty bad but I really didn't mind. I understood everything that was going on, they just screw up with names and call earth "quary". Once you figure out what their words mean it all makes sense. Of course I hated this and the quality but I didn't have to read the manga to make sense of it.

One thing that gets me, after watching the HK subs, is I'm never sure who people are talking about on AP forums, at first. all the secondary charicters, or minor charicters. I'm always asking, who?
My subs started with GREAT video quality!! the first box set was put together amaisingly. a few box sets later, and the people making them started getting lazy. I mean, they're not "crappy", but you can definatly tell the effort went down.
Of coarse, they did a major bust or pirated videos in Toronto a while ago, so now I can't get the nice looking HK subs any more. looks a box set 11 so cheep ass and ugly, I could do better.

same here.. couldn't find any other subbed episode.. then used the HK ones…
at first its kinda hillarious seeing all those translation.. then gotten used to it.. though still got lost sumtimes..anyway.. while watching the G8 part.. lmao to the marine guy who the marine thought were one of the SHs.. the funniest part was when ussop pretended knowing him by caliing him "kuntoliano" or sumthing like that.. it was so funny..

i watched hk subs from the mist filler arc to the half of the g8 arc.
i'm dead.
honestly it sucked like hell and i didn't manage to enjoy anything. i was just dead bored at that time so i kept watching it, but god, the encoding was crap, the substitles were so bad it more sad than funny.
no matter what eneru said, it sounded dumb and i thought toei completely messed up his character. but no, it was just the hk.
so no i didn't survive through it, but k-f made me revive.

I've seen an HK of Movie 2 where Usopp was "Cheat Cloth"
I endured HK's thru most of Baratie->Whiskey peak. The borrowed an HK boxset which goes till 126. I stopped for a while, and started reading the manga at the start of Water 7 and got an External, learned the basics of IRC and got shacked up with K-F (dabbling in Gerusama every once in a while)

I personally think the HK subs are -fabulous-… because they are so hilarious! Of course I read the manga to actually find out what's going on, but I've seen the HK subs up to the end of the Foxy arc and all six movies, and I can honestly say I've never had more fun than going "What the HECK are you TALKING about??" through 200+ episodes.
Off-topic a bit, but I also watched HK subbed .hack//SIGN, which is fifty thousand times worse than HK One Piece. XD
Back on track, my personal favorite is the subbing of Usopp as "Cheat Cloth" in one of the movies. I believe it's the same one that called Zoro "Wordy", but I could be mistaken. I also greatly enjoyed Arlong's crew becoming his "love fellows" and even once had a dream in which Arlong was telling me his love fellows were being attacked... ....
Skypiea is my alltime favorite arc and I even suffered that in HK subs. XD Had no earthly clue what the heck Mantra was or why there was a war in Upper Yard, but hey. The manga is for understanding, the HK dub anime is for... um... technicolor.

I didn't have broadband for the LONGIST time so I dealed with the HK subs all the way up to 120, then when I was able to DL I got all the good subs.
I also have all the movies in HK cus I'm a freak and enjoy them and like having pretties on the shelves.
PS: mine weren't that bad….

Sometimes the subtitles are funny, like luffy calling himself a one piece and that stuff, but the image quality sucks to.
