If you want to make animated gifs in ImageReady then you first need a sequence of pictures.

Then you put all the pictures into a seperate folder. Then you open ImageReady and go to File -> Import -> Folder as Frames and find the folder containing the images.

Once you uploaded all the images you will get a mini Animation window on the bottom that displays all your images in frames. You can test it by clicking on the play button, delete frames or add them.

Once you're satisfied with the gif you made then you go to file and click on Save Optimized As… or Ctrl + Alt + Shift + S then save it as a gif (usually your save type should be "Image Only .gif")

yah that's what you're suppose to do if you want to make .gifs. You can change that by right clicking on the picture and going to properties and change it to whatever you want.

                No problem

Oh yah you can also import a whole video to imageReady and take a section to make it into a gif as well.

Make sure the edited pictures are in the frames and on the left side where you see your layers, make sure the eye is on.

A poor example but you get the idea.

Bumping this really old topic in order to get some .gif advice.

Does anyone have any advice for getting the files smaller? I'm making a gif that's roughly 170 frames, and it's almost 6 MB. I think it's also causing it to go slower, which is a no-no.

@ Lapen: There is a thing you can click called "optimized view" or something like that, and you should be able to choose between 4 versions, different compressions and sizes. That may help…? Also, if you can spare any frames that would help too.

Yeah, keep a lookout for duplicate frames. Usually in animation for example every second frame is the same as every first frame. In live action and other things, you can ditch frames which don't make a big difference. Just be careful which frames you choose, or else your animation will be choppy.
