I'm not that present with the manga (I'm reading slowly) so this question is probably answered, but did he die against his battle with Hina?
I'm guessing he drowned because of his devil power when his ship sunk? Or was it never explained later?

The one time Christy didn't like that was with a certain flying guy in a desert land. She was bawling her eyes out when he sacrificed himself, and then suddenly, ALIVE! And Christy was like, "WHAT?"
But Christy still cries when she sees that episode. As well as when The Sisters Mikan's mama… sniff sniff
