What's with the yellow light? How do I get rid of it and make the download faster (I'm trying BitTornado but I could use others).
I get the same yellow light with other clients so what is the problem?

The yellow light means you are under a firewall. I used to use BitTornado and I would always have the yellow light, since I have a router. In order to get green you must completely shut off your firewall. The yellow light really doesn't effect your downloading rate that much. It just telling you that you can't connect to every server there is because of your firewall.
I now use Bitcomet and it doesn't show the red/yellow/green lights and it actually tells me if my firewall is blocking my ports.
the only way to increase your downloading speed is by connecting to more peers and seeders or seeders/peers with faster uploads. Since you can't control this, there's no way YOU yourself can make the download faster. What you can do however is just find a torrent with more seeds.
One thing to take note of is that if you are uploading too much, that could also decrease your download speed. Generally, most people's connections are not full duplex, meaning that you are unable to utilize both your upload and download at their full capacity simultaneously. So if you find you are uploading at the fastest your connection allows(For DSL it generally is 15kb/s for cable it is around 40-50kb/s) then I would suggest putting a cap on how fast you upload at any given time.
Well, I can't use BitComet since… it shuts down my modem from prolonged use.
Maybe I'll just temporarly shut down my Firewall each time I use BitTornado or Azerues.
Wow, this is helpful to me too.
BatDan, shutting off yoru firewall sounds scary. You can't just be patient? took me a week to download from 234-25..whatever they're up to. Plus a few other things.
It says on bit tornado your download levels corespond with your upload levels. Well, I forget the wording, but basicly it's saying if I want to download faster, I have to upload more.
Anyways, that sounded wierd to me. Why do they say this, when obviosly more uploads are going to negativly affect your downloads?
Maybe it's just these files from YTMND that aren't working.
I was trying to download the YTMND soundtrack but now I'm downloading from another site and it's working just fine.
captain usopp, they say that as to encourage people to upload their fair share, but in reality this matters little if any depending on what program you use. This isn't to say I don't support uploading your fair share, just don't be in a hurry to do it, upload after you have the whole file be seeding, that's the best way to help the torrent out.
Duh, stupid, why didn't I think of that. lol
(calling myself stupid, incase someone gets offended)
Now I know the tracker for YTMND isn't working. I'm downloading One Piece 178 from K-F right now (I know I'm behind) and it's working really well.
Maybe I can ask the creator of the tracker to fix it?

They probably know already. It's just a matter of time.
