Well I just picked up a copy of FFXII and I have to say that its a pretty good game, (maybe "pretty good" is a little light word to use but im only 4hrs in) the controls are pretty easy to use and feel natural (kinda like .hack)
The story is actually really interesting from the get go, also the graphics are extremly well done. My only gripe so far about the game is the whole license system with weapons armor and accesories. Its simular to the sphere grid in X except its on a checkerboard type background. it kinda sucks you have to have a certain amount of points in order to use certain swords or armor but on the upside anyone can use any weapon or spell once you obtain a license for it, so you can trully customize your play experiece. Well anyway I just want to know what other people think of the game if they have tried it out, or any other comments.

Yeeeeah, I liked using a weapon or spell when I got it.
Are the controls and menus like the demo or have they been reworked? And are you reading the story from GameFAQs? (I ask because either your location is incorrect Japanese or you're actually in a waterpipe so I just kinda figured….)

the menu and play style is very simular to the demo so your not going to have anything out of the ordinary, actually playing the demo made things a hell of a lot easier for the real game since you have a basic knowledge of how to position yourself for attacks. They tweaked some of the AI responses so that your back up characters will actually back you up if you run a straigt headstrong fight plan except you just cant constantly wail on an enemy. For me its like they mixed kingdom hearts goofy and donald AI with FF turn base stragtegy to make the system for FFXII
Im reading as i go along for myself without a guide, mainly cause this is an excellent opportunity to work on my kanji. Oh thanks for pointing out my kanji error actually "toi basho" is what i wanted to say but waterpipe isnt so bad now that i think about it haha

Well, I expected some heavy-duty AI but I'm quite dissapointed that the menu system hasn't been streamlined. That's what I was really looking forward to in the final version so I could actually control each character with ease so it played out like a normal FF. Good to know what to expect though.
If you're looking for 'far' try とおい or 遠い my friend. Enjoy the game. As much as I'm crushed by SE's decisions with it, I'm still looking forward to playing it.
