      What are the primary differences between Ultra Jump and Young Jump? They look virtually the same; their distinguishment is confusing to me. From looking at the YJ website, my only conclusion is that it is simmilar to Young Animal; mostly has female model pictures with some manga smeared in the middle. Is this an accurate observation?

        i think young jump has more, or is exclusively, seinen. I know that two of the manga that i scanlate, steel ball run and tough are in ultra jump and young jump .respectively .and the jump in violence and sex is clear when one compares the two

          It's not clear, that's why I'm confused. Tenjou Tenge almost exclusively features sex in the form of violent, brutal rape that is both graphic and horrifying. Gantz, in comparison, has a few occassional scenes here and there, but the majority are linked with romantic interests.

          In terms of gore, yeah, Young Jump manga has more; but, I've only read two manga from both respective magazines, thought I've heard Jojo's Bizzare Adventure pushed the bounds of violence in Shounen Jump so much that Steel Ball Run had to be upgraded to Ultra Jump.

            @Malintex_Terek:

            I've heard Jojo's Bizzare Adventure pushed the bounds of violence in Shounen Jump so much that Steel Ball Run had to be upgraded to Ultra Jump.

            I heard that it was moved because of how many pages the chapters took up.

            I mean

            ! Part 1 alone showed a dog that had been put into an incinerator. There's a whole bunch of other stuff that I can't remember right now. But then again, that WAS 20 years ago.
