When I first heard about this game I thought it was basically SMB3 with updated graphics. Then I heard it was a new game. Then I groaned about how updated it would attempt to be. Then I leapt for joy when I heard it was a call-back to the NES roots. Warp whistles, walking on the top of the screen, Koopa Kids, Goombas, no Yoshi, simple level design, psuedo-3D graphics.
This game is hot. Me wants.

It seems like a solid game from the description I read. Going back to its roots might be what the Mario games need, cause right now they're all over the place. Not to say they aren't good, but they aren't spectacular like they were back in the day.

After Tetris which comes out in a couple of days, this is the game I'm probably most looking forward to for the DS. I love my platformers.
Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.
I love the fact that they are doing an old school Mario again. It really makes me want a DS.

Whoo! Yesterday I was thinking "so, who had sex with Bowser" too. Me having a boring weekend, like always. Anyway, isn't baby Bowser just a very young Bowser? And not a kid of his.
I've no high hopes for the game though. I'm not sure why… I've feeling it will end up being in rather easy side. Well, at least this will leave room for a nice surprise.
I WILL buy a DS lite & NSMB.

Looks to be one amazing game, I dunno bout you guys but Mario seems to be getting better attention on the handhelds than on the main consoles, I mean in the last few months we've had:
Mario Kart DS,
Mario and Luigi 2,
Super Princess Peach (well, technically its a mario game)
and we have this to look forward too, meanwhile the cube has had, what? 3good mario games since it's release?
To be honest I'd say only 2, Sunshine and Double Dash. The sports titles are kinda lame.
I've been interested in this game every since I saw the first screenshots. Awesome. I can't wait for this or the new Wario game.

Just so you you guys know, in the original japanese version the koopalings were Bowser's generals not his kids. That was something they made up when it was brought over here (Like "Princess Toadstool" or "Dr. Robotnik")
But I hope to god they're in this game! I'm sick to shit of Bowser jr. >_>
There's a very good chance I'll buy a DS jsut for this game (then catch up on Phoenix Wright, Trauma center and other odd DS titles)
One thing I would like to see in a "canon" Mario game is Mario and Luigi vs Wario and Waluigi.
I am quite interested in this but I would like it if you could play as Mario or Luigi in one player mode as I prefer Luigi to his brother.

Old School Mario owns! And there is a Tetris DS? Me want! (I don't stalk games comming out unless I REALLY want too… I go insane when I know I have to wait... so I like it better when I see it at the store and get suprised, if that makes sense)

I still think they've gotten the short end of the stick lately and would fit perfectly in the myriad nintendo sports games.
