Ever since the first Coon episode I was pretty sure that Clyde is Mysterion, but secretly hoped it would be Kenny. It would be awesome if it really turned out to be Kenny next episode.
Well, whoever it is, I just hope they will really reveal Mysterion's identity this time. I know, the episode title, but I don't trust them. At all.
South Park

I think the biggest problem is that the only time any of us have heard Kenny's real voice is back in the movie. And I haven't seen that in ages, so I can't really remember how that works.
The thing is Kenny is either Mosquito or Mysterion, and Clyde is the other.
Sort of like with Kyle, I really don't see Kenny just taking a beating from Cartman like that. Plus, I don't think Kenny would suggest selling lemon bars…. -
We've also heard Kenny in the Michael Jackson episode.
-

Meet the Jeffersons?
Oh yeah! You're right!I still can't remember what he sounds like…I need to go back and watch it...
-
Meet the Jeffersons?
Oh yeah! You're right!I still can't remember what he sounds like…I need to go back and watch it...
If I recall, he sounds kinda normal, he has a sort of high voice
-
Kenny?! Really! It Was Him?!
! Mysterion = Kenny
-
I knew it was going to be Kenny. So that makes the Kite Kyle and Mosquito Clyde.
And he can never die.
-
Cthulhu  !
And Kenny is Mysterion. I wasn't expecting them to use him dying as a superpower but I guess it works.
-
Here's how I see it:
Coon - Cartman (duh)
Tool Shed - Stan
Iron Maiden - Timmy
Whatshisname- Token
Mint Berry Crunch - Bradley was it
Human Kite - Kyle
Mosquito - Clyde
Mysterion - KennySweet called em all.
-
Tonari no Cthulhu what the fuck.
-
Oh jeez. At least it's a 3 parter. I would have been pissed if it ended with that. It would have been a total cop put to have Kenny waking up and everything being normal.
-
Hrm. Gonna be a 3 parter, apparently.
And finally explain some of Kenny's immortality, hopefully.
I also dug the mini-groundhog's day speech moment.
-
Nooooo! I want to see the end of this!
Cthulhu's sing-a-long was amazing. I can't wait to see how this ends.
-
For those who didn't know, the bit with Cartman on Cthulhu's belly was taken from Totoro.
AND THEN THEY DID THE FUCKING SONG.
-
Fucking.
The best follow-up.
! I loved the whole thing with Kenny being Mysterion, wasn't expecting that, yet it makes so much sense
And its a 3-parter….BTW, am I right to assume that Cthulhu song a My Neighbor Totoro homage?
EDIT: Ok, so it was…
-
Kenny's power was funny although it contradicts a couple of things in the series…. but this is South Park.
-
On the upside, should I ever have insomnia and for some reason opt to watch Totoro again… I won't be able to see it the same way.
That's a plus.
-
Goddamn that was awesome. Honestly, I wasn't for sure that Kenny was Mysterion, but what they did with him in this episode was great.
Ah, but it's been forever since I've seen Totoro. Cartman and Cthulu's exchange seemed pretty Totoro-ish, but now that I know it was intentional it makes it all the more awesome.
-
@RobbyBevard:
I also dug the mini-groundhog's day speech moment.
ahh thats what it was from. I couldn't place it but i knew it was something…
-
They weren't exactly quoting Groundhog's day, but it was pretty similar, right down to the wake up moment. But that one might just be a coincidence based on the similar theme.
-
Very good, especially everything Kenny related. Ending was great.
Was watching Grave of the Fireflies lately for the first time, sadly I hadn't time yet for Totoro, then the Cartman thing could have blown me away even more.:sad:Kenny's power was funny although it contradicts a couple of things in the series…. but this is South Park.
Though they've handled stuff like this better in the past, like when Bill Gates came back but had a patch on his forehead. On the other hand, it was kinda neat that they were throwing a few random minor characters from old eps in there.
-
I just thought they parodied LeBron's Nike commercial well in this ep. Pretty good stuff.
-
This episode was a fucking whirlwind of god-damn brilliant parodies…! My brother and I especially had a good laugh at Mysterion's superpower, and the music number.
-
Okay yeah.
So we'll chalk last week up to being a set-up for a fucking brilliant episode. I''m fine with that.
We were watching and I'm like, "You know…I've seen this somewhere. I've seen someone smile JUST like that but...", and Haruka's like, "The hell? Is this Totoro or something?" And I'm like, "Oh my GOD! This is SO Totoro!!!" Then of course Cartman starts going all, "Good Cthulu(sp) ne~!"
Holy shit.
But the best line of the episode:
"A retro-active spider!"
^_^
-
That. Was. Amazing.
Kenny Being Mysterion wasn't really hard to figure out, but his immortality being a superpower was just brilliant.
I wasn't expecting them to reveal him as Kenny like that though, it caught me completely off guard, in a really good way.
I REALLY hope we get a part 3 on this, It'd be terrible if they ended it that way.
-
I will now die happily.
I've always been a huge Kenny fan, so … no need to tell you that I am madly in love with this episode. Madly.
While I always wanted him to be Mysterion, I never really believed it. Hot damn. And they just said it like that! I was in hysterics out of sheer joy.
Really, that's all I would have needed for this episode, but there was so much more. And not only the stuff concerning Kenny.Totoro for example was of course awesome, too.
I only ever watched it once together with my sister but immediately recognized it. I'll have to thank her for making me watch it back then. -
I REALLY hope we get a part 3 on this, It'd be terrible if they ended it that way.
Commercial previews say there will be.
-
Mintberryyyyyy Ccccccrrruuunch!
-
God fucking dammit, I will never read this thread before an episode again>
-
Totoro! That's it!
Anyways, good episode, definitely better than the first part. Mysterion as Kenny was painfully obvious.
-
I just fucking loved how nonchalant that reveal was.
-
As did I. That's just like them, too. Brilliant.
-
God, South Parks always gives me a good laugh. But this time, it really cracked me up! The big reveal was flat out funny and was the perfect way to show it! God, this entire saga has been amazing! Almost as funny as the giant hamster arc.
-
Damn. What a hilarious episode. And so, so happy for Mysterion being Kenny.
Before this season, I have never watched South PArk on going, and now I realize, how much it pays off.
-
"why are we still coon & friends"?
"because it really pisses cartman off"
Nice.
-
As did I. That's just like them, too. Brilliant.
Enter IGN:
(paraphrased)That was a stupid reveal! We were all waiting for a big comic book-style reveal! And the viewer was just left to pick up for themselves who it was!
Moron.
-
Why are you pulling posts from IGN?
-
The sky is blue, the grass is green, and IGN posters are retards. Simple facts of life.
-
Why are you pulling posts from IGN?
Yeah, you see the thing about that is, it wasn't a post.
It was the review.
-
OK
But its still IGN.
EYE
JEE
EENNNNN
-
Well we all know you can't spell ignorant without IGN but still, I thought it'd be interesting to bring up that baaaaaaaw about the reveal when we all thought it was perfect.
-
Fucking Mintberry Crunch…
-
Shablagoo…! .
-
LOL Mintberry Crunch.
Also i like how it ended when they when kenny said he couldn't die i remembered the movie, and how after he dies his mom gives birth and names the kid Kenny. So this is a great ending.
And still Fucking Mintberry fucking Crunch.
-

This was from ,,Cartman joins NAMBLA".
-
LOL, no way.
Poor Carol. Must be hell to have to go through that every single time Kenny dies. Ouch.
-
I'm really glad that Kenny was not Gra-whatever from another planet, but that Mintberry Crunch kid turned out to be instead.
I'm, however, still disappointed with the outcome. At this point I would've preferred leaving Kenny's "powers" unexplained.
I guess it fits with that one-time gag at the end of an older episode, and all, but I'm just not satisfied. How can a newly produced baby Kenny grow up in a single night?? Why is it always the same consciousness (Kenny remembering things from his previous lives)??
Eh, I guess that's just South Park, right?
At one point, they hated Kenny so much they killed him off (for good). I should just be glad at least that didn't happen this time. -
I should just be glad at least that didn't happen this time.
You can bet that I was.
I never really believed that they would kill off Kenny once and for all again. Not after almost 14 seasons, one failed attempt and everything. But oddly enough, one little piece of doubt just wouldn't go away and bugged me the entire last week.
I didn't expect all that build up to lead to "nothing".Half way through the episode I expected it to get a fourth part. I already braced myself to get a cliffhanger ending or them faking Kenny's permanent death, just to have him come back at the beginning of the next season or something among those lines. Just to screw with us.
I'm glad it didn't happen. -
"I'm going to bed." shoots self
.
Mintberry Crunch having superpowers was awesome! And R'lyeh was pretty cool too. I thought it was Yugoth at first, though.
-
I'm sort of disappointed with this. I was really hoping that Kenny would get to be the hero of the episode, and that he would find out why he can't die.
Instead it's fucking Mintberry Crunch.
