Aaand we're done at last.
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...
Hajime no Ippo

Well, if it made Ricardo smile maybe it was worth the fight?
https://mangasee123.com/read-online/Hajime-No-Ippo-chapter-1410.htmlAnd isn't Ricardo so much more handsome when he smiles?
-
Well, that Ricardo expression conveys my own feelings 100%. Glad he killed the monkey.
@desa
Yo mate, it's finally done. -
Thank christ for that.
Hope he retired him
-
I really liked the chapter. The hits felt pretty brutal. The art did all the characterization and plot work without needing any monologues (and very little announcer speech bubbles). Not showing Wally's face until the last page is an interesting choice.
Maybe Ippo can still get a little moment in the aftermath here.
-
I find it hilarious honestly that some people still speak in a hypothetical form about Ippos return when even the author himself just keeps drawing artwork of him in his boxing attire looking determined. One would expect that if retirement is really the route he would want to take this he would commit to it 100%.

That smile ! Nice of Wally to sacrifice himself for Sendo. Excited to see how he adapts in their fight.

Well, Kumi has funny faces now:
https://mangasee123.com/read-online/Hajime-No-Ippo-chapter-1411.htmlTo the translators: Warlee? Really?

They literally said in the translators notes, that this is what the Romaji in the original version say.
Also did we really have to see that terrible blank piece of wood again immediately after we finally got rid of Bruce WarLee?
-
jesus christ i check up on this manga every dozen chapters or ten and this is abysmal

Oh, missed that. To which then I say to Morikawa: um, I don't think that sounds very Indonesian.

I think that ever since Shirlew became a thing, at least us One Piece readers should have started to the authors romanizations with a grain of salt. Even much earlier than that if you've read D. Gray Man.

Warlee is so hilariously bad it almost redeems the whole mess, like a trainwreck reversing back up on the track
-
Sorry, Kumi. The first person Ippo visits will always be his coach.

More Kamogawa is always good:
https://mangasee123.com/read-online/Hajime-No-Ippo-chapter-1413.htmlAnd when you say something is "missing" Ippo, I think we all know it means more than just your friends and family.
-
It'll be interesting to see if Ippo hits a point of realizing that he doesn't just want to see if he can fight on the world stage but that he wants to fight to be the best.
With Creed III coming out in a few days I'm looking forward to seeing what specific moments Director Michael B. Jordan pays tribute to. Apparently his fight choreography for the film is very Ippo and Naruto-esque. This is going to be fun.
-
I'm imagining the Rocky films with ippo-esque flicker jabs and dempsey rolls in it.
-
Wonder if Morikawa has been watching the Creed movies.

That would be so cool. Adonis using the Dempsey Role accompanied by Inner Light would be so surreal to see.

This is the same series that gave us such amazing names as Eleki Battery & Ricky Mouse.
Warlee is pretty on brand.
-
That is not a "pout".
https://mangasee123.com/read-online/Hajime-No-Ippo-chapter-1414.htmlBut finally, back to Takamura.
-
This was a much needed nonsense chapter:
https://mangasee123.com/read-online/Hajime-No-Ippo-chapter-1415.htmlFucking Takamura.
-
Ippo can be such a wuss. At least he knows it.
https://mangasee123.com/read-online/Hajime-No-Ippo-chapter-1416.html -
I really hoped that Ricardo match would actually lead to Ippo coming back and moving the story along. Instead, we have coming up:
- The pro test
- Sendo world championship match
- Mashiba world championship match
We probably also have:
- Some Miyata stuff
- The debut matches and Ippo coaching them
- Some random match from Takamura, Aoki, Kimura and/or Itagaki
This will take like what - 2 years? I think I'll take a couple months break from Ippo. I'm all for a slow burn, but Ippo being retired longer than most manga are running is kinda ridiculous. The story being told is not that interesting - he is not boxing, but still loving it, kinda feeling nostalgic towards his own beginnings. Cool, we were at this point two years ago.
-
The frustration is shared. I have to admit, this is beginning to feel like we may never see Hippo return at all and instead end up being teased forever until the manga concludes or Moritaka dies of old age, whichever comes first.
-
Shounen hero retires - never makes dramatic comeback
-
Hey, Sendo and Mashiba are more interesting than Ippo himself right now anyway.
-
With very few exceptions, most Boxing comebacks don't go very well, and Ippo doesn't have any obvious signs of CTE. He should count himself lucky.
-
Ippo's biggest concern is that CTE is now more at risk if he returns. He needs to get that Mike Tyson stance back and protect his damn head.
And considering the symptoms I felt after having a mild concussion myself (I'm fine) just from bumping my head, I can't even imagine what CTE is like.
