Mashiba knows math.
Hajime no Ippo
-
Mashiba knows math.
-
If Takamura can do it, so can you, Kimura.
https://mangakakalot.com/chapter/read_hajime_no_ippo_manga/chapter_1283Although I admit I would have never thought of shaving my head.
-
There is truly never a bad time for another Ippo's massive wang gag.
But is it just me or does it still feel more like buddy helping buddy than coach Ippo taking charge of his fighter? Might just be my biases playing in, but it feels pretty much like playing dress up
-
There is truly never a bad time for another Ippo's massive wang gag.
What are you complaining for we got to see Kimura's too:ninja:
But seriously what the fuck with Ippo shaving his hair?
-
I think Takamura got naked a weight in once. So dropping a corpse seems about right. I wonder if he'll be in any shape to fight.
Any reminder that Ippo's dong is a rare specimen is a welcome one.
Ippo is the example of the female lead in a high school movie. He has the same attribute as the popular one and maybe more except he is so covered in his own shyness and lack of confidence that no one sees it and treat him like a nerd. Dropping his shirt is him taking off the glasses
But is it just me or does it still feel more like buddy helping buddy than coach Ippo taking charge of his fighter? Might just be my biases playing in, but it feels pretty much like playing dress up
Is he trying to be Kimimura's coach? I though he was trying to be there with his friend now that he got free time while also learning about some of the hardships boxers deal with in order to apply it to his coaching of the two guys he brung.
I say give him time to learn. He has to grow that backbone. Most boxers can use their ego/confidence on having had a career to not feel like a fraud and be confident on teaching others but Ippo lack any ego and still sees himself as someone that isn't in a place to tell people what's best or truly pushed them. Also a coach is there to manage you not to be like you. They are not going through weight control and they probably wouldn't call another boxer to ask for advice in front of you.
-
Am I guessing that you're all guys if you love the dick joke so much?
What are you complaining for we got to see Kimura's too:ninja:
But seriously what the fuck with Ippo shaving his hair?
Ippo's just trying to show how important a friend Kimura is and how dedicated he is to helping. Also cause Ippo is just dramatic like that.
Is he trying to be Kimimura's coach? I though he was trying to be there with his friend now that he got free time while also learning about some of the hardships boxers deal with in order to apply it to his coaching of the two guys he brung.
In Kimura's case he's not trying to be a coach, he's just trying to be the best cornerman ever. Kimura and co. already have a coach. But as you said, it's all part of teaching him how to be a coach for the kids.
-
Then what was Takamura talking about when he said he wouldn't forgive Ippo if he didn't get Kimura in shape? If Ippo is only his corner man he has no responsibility for what happens here. Also i resent the implication that you need to be a wang haver to appreciate a good wang joke, but yes yes i am one of those.
-
Ippo's breathtaking dong is a classic joke and I'm a sucker for classics especially when you have long break between them.

Actually he won't forgive Kimimura. He mentions shedding weight is the responsability of the boxer himself.
He hate when his compatriots shows the weakness he is constantly figthing to the point of sometimes being insensitive. Kimimura understands the problem of weight and can't give up the same way he wouldn't and Ippo shouldn't fail at making the coach proud by becoming champion the same he won't.
Similarily when he thought Miyata was slacking he went there to pump him back up and make sure he doesn't lose the one guy that seemed to understand his way of doing things. No excuse for your failure but yourself and never stop making sure you're at your best even when others think you done enough.

Rereading the passage I just realized what Ippo takes as shadow boxing is actually takamura jacking off:blink:
-
Oh. It came of like he was talking about training Kimura when he told Ippo that he won't be okay even if he hangs his head in shame. The whole conversations seems weirdly expositiony if he was just in the middle of monologuing about Kimura and the segue was not talking about Ippo failing as a trainer.

I guess you could say he was just pissed Kimimura was failing and since Ippo is so gunho on helping he's telling him it doesn't mean squat if he doesnt pass the weight. But yeah I think his actual anger is at the idea of his gym partner failing the weight when he himself is trying so hard.
-
Probably one of the stupider dick jokes I've seen, but hey, it had a purpose:
https://mangakakalot.com/chapter/read_hajime_no_ippo_manga/chapter_1284And you do hand it to Ippo, when he's truly determined to help he puts his whole heart into it. He's really starting to mature as a strategist. And 6kg means he lost over 13 pounds in two days, that is nothing to sneeze at. When it's that fast you're not losing fat (or very little, anyway), you're losing all body fluid from your muscles and organs. Sheesh.
-
Shaving a mans balls surely says i am determined and willing to do anything
-
-
oooookay .
Well i mean if that is a common thing you'd do who am i to judge.
But shaving another mans junk sure feels like going way out of the ordinary to me.

Oh I assure you'd I have never shaved another man's balls and never will.
-
It's such a pain in the ass to shave your own balls, I wonder how much of a relief it was for Ippo to have an easier time shaving someone else's balls?
-
Poor Kimura, he and Aoki are always the buttmonkeys:
https://mangakakalot.com/chapter/read_hajime_no_ippo_manga/chapter_1285And does anybody have any idea who this homeless guy Takamura keeps hanging out with is?

The Regular was at an older fight from a few years ago. He's a gag character dressed up as a serious character.
-
We need like a the regular post it note we can stick to Sats hand
-
Reminds the first Dempsey fight and the Imai fight. And I think Ippo did it to Sendo for the champion belt.
-
With the Kimura fight over with, hopefully all the focus will shift to Sendo vs Gonzalez in the next 3-4 chapters
-
@Bloody:

Unfortunately; Itagaki is a character.
-
Kimura really came of sorry looking in that one.
Feels bad that those two will just keep getting dragged thru the mud.
Realistic, but it is one of those where you'd want a fairytale ending
-
-
I don't know where they want to go with Kimura after this.
-
When hasn't he not came off looking sorry after a fight?…..sans his pro debut.
Well there is the Mashiba close call. And even in loss he usually doesn't look this bad. And adding in the accumulation effect just makes it worse. Like i get the realism of an old guy never making it to a title belt but it just gets sad to see him slide further and further down the sad sack pole.
-
This was a guy who won a fight and wound up crestfallen after seeing the girl he invited to watch the fight clinging to the arm of another guy and also got his ass whipped in front of his parents by punch of guys one of whom hit his mother.
All he knows is suffering.
-
I admit, I did not see this coming:
https://mangakakalot.com/chapter/read_hajime_no_ippo_manga/chapter_1291 -
Wasn't part of the reason he quit to help his mom? That sounds like a pretty bold decision from Ippo.
A theory I see in the comment is that Sendo getting destroyed and maybe forced to retire is what gets Ippo back to the ring. It would be kind of like the promise to the kid 2.0 but to an actual friend this time.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Boxers retiring aren't usually sunshine and rainbows in Ippo.
-
I can hear the revival engine revving
-
The frustration in Takamura is great to see.
-
Wonder what is gonna happen in Mexico that flips him into go mode. Sendo being mangled has emotional appeal, but it is hard to see that translating into Ippo getting revved up. Unless of course he cheats.
-
Don't know about Mexico. It might take him a step closer, but not all the way. With what Takamura just said, I'm under the impression that anything that pushes Hippo back on the ring should have to do with the coach. Sendo is a good friend, but I can't picture Hippo putting gloves for his sake.

Considering how much Sendo loves boxing and consider Ippo his rival I can easily see him guilt trip the hell out Ippo to take his baton and finish what he couldn't. Although I would more expect a Martinez destruction than random Gonzalez guy.

Me thinks King Hippo should just stay retired as he has a glass body:ninja:
-
There's no way than Sendo will lose against Gonzales. The plot definitely isn't going in that direction.

Dunno. After they stuck with the retirement of the main character for nearly a hundred chapters i'd be willing to buy a crippled for life Sendo
-
Yeah I don't know why Sendo wouldn't lose to Gonzalez but after Morikawa decided to have Ippo lose to two different people and had Imae fuck up Itagaki for a second time and getting his win back in the process a swerve is possible.
-

He could always get destroyed and crippled by Martinez.
-
I find it quite fun how little i as a reader truly know about what goes on in Morikawas head. Dude has to be one of the most unpredictable serialized manga writers ever, he clearly thinks nothing about what would be the best selling choice
-
I feel his manga is more like conan where the popularity the main plot isnt the point the fights are like Conan with where what matters are the mysteries. So they get to do what they want aside as long as those aspects still entertain.
-
I wonder if Ippo is going to see Sendou beat Gonzales or simply feel like he cannot stop seeing himself in the fight and how he would move. Being a second has given Ippo new perspective and I think it'll definitely be what eats away at him until he can't stay out of the ring anymore.
-
Who's the idiot who let Ippo go to Mexico by himself?
https://mangakakalot.com/chapter/read_hajime_no_ippo_manga/chapter_1292 -
I feel she should have went to. Some nice alone time and vacation.
-
A relationship with someone who has open blunt disdain for the thing you're most passionate about…. ain't likely to work out.
Time to cut Kumi off. She hasn't been endearing for a long long time. -
She used to be much less confrontational about it. I would very much like her to go.
I see Morikawa dick joke game is still on point.

I mean to be pretty fair with boxing being a pretty dangerous sport in addition to having to see your only surviving relative come home with bruises and swelling from said profession constantly it makes sense. Not helped by Ippo being a fist magnet in the ring who had to retire because of his horrible concept of defense.
