I really think that a Straw Hat member is going to die in this saga or the next one. But I'm not sure who it is. My first guess would be Chopper or Robin.

Nobody but Merry is dying, at least not this soon. I'd be surprised if any of them ever die at all.

I could see Luffy going out in grand style like Roger did, but that would be one hell of a guess that would wait until the second to last/last chapter of the manga.

robin won't die when we'll know her past. it seems that being able to read the poneglyphs can be useful to get one piece, because roger was also able to do it.
yes, because her mysterious past is the only thing interesting about her
i can't see why you think it, it's a smart character, very useful to the crew, and very interresting, too.
we discovered that she loves the crew and when they team up again, she'll become a true crewmember.

I really can't see the point of killing off a character. The whole tone of the story doesn't mesh with it, and it is true, Oda doesn't kill anyone (for the most part). He said in one of the SBS's that Luffy attacks their ideals, and dreams and destroys them… or something like that. I just think killing someone would be a waste, and not fit the comic at all.

[snapback]55287[/snapback]But at least you have to admit that we never saw neither in the manga nor in the anime how close he was to the bomb when it actually exploded. Everything we say is just personal speculation so therefore it can still be logic that he survived.
However I understand what you feel, because from the dramatic point of view his death would have made much more sense. Especially since he wasn´t needed for the further story development after that scene and I doubt that he will ever get important again.
