I've been wondering about weapon devil type fruits…

hi all. this is my first post and topic in AP so please cut me some slack if i broke some rules :biggrin:.

Is it possible to have the weapon obtain Logia or Paramecia powers like Mr.2's fruit?

When a person eats a Logia fruit, that user's body becomes the element of the fruit itself, so does it means the owner of the weapon cannot touch it?

Since many people says mihawk did not eat any devil fruit, he might had his sword eaten some devil fruit, since he said that his sword is the strongest in Krieg arc and any 'devil fruitted' swords can easily surpass his non-devil fruit sword.

I also thought that the top-tiers characters (supreme admiral, whitebeard, etc) have multiple devil fruits like a person with a devil fruit power from the person himself, his weapon, accessories (can be possible, since weapons can gain the powers), pets, etc that synergizes very well.

I've always thought that weapon-powered DFs were interesting ever since Lasoo, so I've got some theories on the matter:

As for whether it is possible for a weapon to have Logia or Paramecia, I would assume as much. If they were restricted like that, why couldn't there be a weapon-only DF type? Perhaps this is the case, but I don't happen to believe it. Also, what would happen if they got a non-zoan one? As we've seen with Shanks and (sort of) with Kaku, DFs must be recognizable in some way, so some scientist must have tried this by now.

On the matter of a logia of paramecia weapon, I'll still compare to zoans. It appears as though, although they have their own consciousness, they seem to unfailingly obey their 'masters' (Funkfried just as easily could have said to Spandam "Screw that, I'm not becoming a sword", and Lasoo could have just run away). They seem to have a loyalty to them, so what stops a non-Zoan DF weapon from doing the same thing? In the case of a Gomu Gomu sword, maybe it would stretch, but still cut, and the master could order it to do such things. In the case of a Hie Hie sword, perhaps it could turn into an icy, freezy weapon of doom at will. This of course is all speculation, but I think it all seems to line up.

Finally, on the note of Mihawk's sword having a DF, I doubt it and hope not. Zoro VS Mihawk needs to be a straight-up swordsmanship battle, no frills. Otherwise, how could they truly prove who's best?
