I was gonna call this topic "A Fish Man, a Giant, and a Skypean walk into a bar…."

The point of the topic was as follows: What if Arlong has historical bassi for his prejudices? here me out. What if the Ancient Kingdom was ruled by fish men? Giants, humans, and Skypeans could have been lower-class citizens or slaves, or perhaps the Fish Men and the skypeans ruled together. The Giants and the Humans revolted, the Skypeans all hid in Skypea, and the fish men remained a mere ghost of their former power, with nothing left but shattered visions of superiority remaining from an empire that was once great but is now backwards and insignificant

Interesting theory.

But I think it makes more sense to put the Gyojin, the Giants, and the Skypeians on the same footing. They ALL have an edge over the ordinary humans, and they all seem "outside" the mainstream power structure (the World Government) I could see all three with territory in the Grand Line, all regularly picking on a wimpy human nation who happens to do something incredibly evil to assert their power.

I think there was an understading between all the races in that time

But some greedy people (can be of all the races) wanted all for themselves and the war started

The D's decided to preserve what was left in the end of the war and each one of them set sail to a diferent place

But with the years the D. lineage started to lose the knowledge; one of the D's an adventurous one by the name Gol D. Roger knew that there was something more to it and started his trip to find the Rio Poneglyph and in the end he realized that to awake the minds of the people and other D's a sacrifice would be needed so he gave his life to motivate others so that they will bring the end of the long adventure

I think Luffy is the one that's going to end Gol D. Roger's job with the help of all the strawhats and maybe a few more friends

I bet there will be a merman with the name of D. I can feel it. Also, due to the fact that there were giant-mermen hybrids during the DBF arc, I wonder just how closely the two races were during that time. I personally believe at one time the two races depended closely on one another in the past and maybe shared a country of some sorts.

Oh, I definitely think the Gorousai have been around since the old kingdom. For all we know, they started the war.

Btw, to add on to my original theory, Elbaf giants would be the descendants of giants who'd remaned loyal to the old kingdom during the revolt.

i imagend the ancient kingdom something like the Old Republice in Star Wars. But xenophobic humans(gorousai) formed the alliance the destroyed the unnamed kingdom. I never believed that the kingdom was one island. i fought it was hundreds of island from all over the world and the kings, mayors and emporers meet at one place, the heart of the empire(Coruscant), which today is Raftel, don.

The Giants do tend to live for several hundred years. Dr.K was just a nomral human and is what, 139?
However- i highly doubt anyone from 800 years ago is still alive. Well that is, unless this person is in hiding and kept his or herself hidden for that long.

Well the Republic was corupt and birocratic, those were also factors for it's downfall. But most people think that the D's were the royal family of the kingdom or it's gardiens.
I rather think that the old kingdom was benevolent, not a utopia, but not evil.
