Well seeing so far how all the stories are always ending to have a great coherence (like skypiae with Jaya etc..), I made up my own theory about how some strawhat's goals will go to the same way eventually :

Althought Luffy and Zorro will surely go to the top together, I always wondered how something like Nami's or Sanji's could have a link to one piece, or to the One piece world.

With the recent news about the old Civilization, wich seems to be at the center of the One Piece world and story background, I think that :

      • The old Civilization actually IS Grandline, or to be more precise Grandline is what remains of the Civilization (This one was already talked about I think)

      • All Blue is today a legend is because it existed from the time of the civilization, and the world at this time was different : the 4 sees met together at the center of the world, till grand line was created (800 years ago perhaps?? ) So for Sanji to realize his dream, to find all Blue, the world will have to chance to what it was once, or to something else. (Seems now more epic than fishing in the 4 sees don't you think ?? ).

      • In the same way, Nami could be the one to discover the true nature of Grand line : She is the first to try to do a global map of the world (or the first to be good enough to realize it), of her cruse around the world. She will also be able to see them (the maps) together, and, who knows, maybe some islands will just be like skypiae and Jaya (Foreshadowing? It wouldn't be so surprising from Oda..), they will do a coherent continent.

      • At this point, I can just speculate about what will happen : maybe One Piece is a way to change the world to what it was once, or it's the thing that created grand line, and it would still change the world to something else..
Maybe the Strawhats will have the choice to use it or not at the end of the story, choice between their dreams and the world.
In all cases I think that this theory have some sense globally.

Well I have many other ideas in my mind, you can go on with the others strawhats (but chopper, I didn't find a direct link here..), but it's kinda difficult for me to say it in english, I hope you understood me so far. Feel free to tell me what you think about it, after all it's just speculation !

What if One Piece is a time machine? Here's my reasoning. Think of time-spaces as nodes on a tree. Then think of the time machine as the root node. Can you see now how everything makes sense? Since the time machine is the root, all timelines converge into this One Piece - the time machine. Now if the One Piece really is a time machine then think of all the story possibilities. The future is mostly going to be futuristic space stuff right? How cool would a One Piece in space be? And imagine all the deep philosophical issues the the story could get into, like what if Gold Roger gave birth to himself? Freaky stuff like that that messes with your mind.

Hahaha ChubbyChez, your theories crack me up.

And to be on topic: I don't think something actually made the grandline. It just is. Look at the planet here. Looks like lots of stuff is different from our planet 😄

How cool would a One Piece in space be?

Actually, there was a huge thread on that almost exactly a year ago.

Even though I think it wouldn't be as satisfying, the coolest ending would be if no one accomplished their goals and kept on working towards them. That leaves an entire world to the fans and even though we aren't hand-fed the ending, it's much neater that way for those of use who want to think of what happens after Oda puts down his pen.

No matter where you go, there you are.

I actually think that this kind of ending will be the most satisfying. If Oda comes up with a definate ending with no room for our imagination, basically some people will be impressed, while others dissapointed. People will also be like "OMG NO IT ENDED, MY FAVOURITE MANGA, MY LIFE." haha, maybe that's an exaggeration but, I think open-ended is best.

One Piece in space will be overkill. I wonder where did Know, the topic creater of "One Piece in Space" went?

Other then that the SH pirates don't need to go to space unless One Piece was thrown up there. This story is about finding One Piece and they have to be looking for it not stray off the point and get shot up to space. If Oda pulls a FF9 "Going to Terra" by having the SH get warpped to another planet and struggles to get back to their own world that'll be nice. Or maybe visit the moon

Imagine if …. say Laboon's parents or some other OLD animals know how to get to Raftel. CHOPPER IS THE KEY TO FINDING ONE PIECE.

One Piece in space, hell no. This is a pirate story, ok it does have fantasy and scifi elementes, like Sky Islands and cyborgs, but it is still a pirate story, which should take place on the seas. I would stop reading One Piece if Oda sent them into space. That would suck beyond imagination. And why do we need to go into space to get deep philosophical issues?
One Piece in space simply NOOOOOOO.
                        What's next?

If One Piece was a time machine, maybe Luffy IS Gold Roger. He realizes this and starts up, making him the Pirate King.

Of course it's not earth. But as far as the grandline being "made". I would have to disagree with you. There are alot of physical structures and hints in the story the leads me to think the entire planet has been re-engineered. Not created certianly. But deffinitly engineered on a large (grand) scale.

Take reverse mountian, as 1 physical element i cant see occuring naturally. And of course theres NO WAY the Gates of Justice are naturally occuring. And anyone capable of making something as big as the GoJ are. Could easily have re-engineered most of the planet. In fact the entire Grand Line might be nothing more then an egineered corridor to feed water/engery into whatever is on Raft.

But regardless of it's purpose. The planet itself has undergone major changes done by thoose from the past. At least IMO.
