My favourite 'short' (short as in like those kind of anime which only has 13 episodes or less) anime series would have to be.. Midori no Hibi!! :lol: It's quite nice and funny but it's a little sick (please don't ask why..) but anyway… I love this series... What about you guys? :lol:

Big fan of "short" OAV and series…few favourites of mine are the Lodoss OAV, Genshiken, NTHT and KGNE. "Saikano" is also a good short (albeit disturbing and pretty depressing) series.

Here are OVA series I like:
Giant Robo (actually, it isn't just my favorite short series…it's my favorite anime **_EVER.) - 7 episodes.
Bubblegum Crisis (original series) - 8 episodes.
Gunbuster (original series) - 6 episodes.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (the older series 3 OVA series that starts with GEB/water stand user and goes to the final battle with Dio) - either 6 or 7 episodes, can't remember_**

I actually have a list for this. Normally, I don't like 13 episode series, due to the fact that I feel alot end before they really begin, but these 4 are the truly good ones in my eyes.
4.) Haibane Renmei.
3.) Kino's Journey.
2.) Paranoia Agent.
1.) Elfen Lied. Although not the best anime in the world, it's definitely my favorite. The darkness of the story and the interestingness of the characters propells it far beyond a normal 13 episode series. -
I like the MnH manga.

My favorite short series to come out this year is Rozen Maiden. Anybody heard of it?
It's basically an anime about these Victorian dolls (gothic lolita extraordinaire) who are alive and were built with the purpose of fighting amongst themselves using their magic powers to obtain the power of the defeated and claim the title of "Alice."
It's a very intriguing anime, with just the right amounts of light and dark (very funny the way the main character doll orders humans around like a spoiled little girl). And the opening song KICKS ASS.

I have all of Rozen Maiden but I have yet to finish watching it. Same with anohter fun short series, 2x2 Shinobuden.
I really need to finish watching those sometime…

If I was teaching a Japanese popular culture class, that would be required viewing.I used to watch a bunch of short series "back in the day". Bewitching Nozomi was a good one about boxing. Anyone else see Here is Greenwood? I loved The Hakkenden (but it was 13 episodes, not 6).
There's a few others I'm definitely forgetting. But there are alot of good, shorter shows out there.

I haven't read/seen much short manga/anime, but out of the ones I have, Lilim Kiss is the best, I suppose. Its a manga by the same dude (girl, I guess) thats doing Ichigo 100%. The ending kinda sucked, but otherwise, its not bad.
