But at least in 2 months vol 14 comes to the US.
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

I am aware Fist of the North star had a limited release, but I was hoping they might be willing to give it another chance. As for Kinnikuman, one can hope.
I'm pretty sure that they've been releasing Kinnikuman. They call it Ultimate Muscle. Unless there's another Kinnikuman, check under the U's in the manga section. I've seen, probably 20 volumes or so. But I could be wrong.
That's the sequel to the original Kinnikuman. They want the original.
@Brad:

so the series with Kid Muscle,Kevin Mask, and Wally tusket was a Sequel????
What's criminal is that Yu-Gi-Oh (not GX) is constantly down to one chapter a month, and they're almost done. You'd think they'd want to finish it quickly to clear up more space in the magazine…
Unless there's still enough of a market for that series to make it worth milking every chapter.
Remember quite recently, that ugly spindly boy was on every single cover.
Before the reign of the Narutard, the Yu-gi-oh fandom was what sold Shonen Jump.

That actually sort of ties into why I want to know if American Jump's ToC works like Japan's. YGO was/is consistently at the very back end of the magazine (excluding GX), so…
Well actually fist of the north star was out by viz. I just can't find it anywhere anymore. And for the record, rajin released the sequal to FOTNS, and viz released the original ones. Though I heard they edited it.
Though thank god for ryo to mujoh I have always wanted to read that series. And hoshin engi too even if the character in jus is incredibly broken >>
The next jump will have the last chapter of Gin Tama, but they started Dragon Drive in the book. I dont know if it is only one chatper or what but they have "to be continued" at the end . The bonse is a GX card,Elemental Hero Stratos" and the subscriber one is Prince of Tennis dvd .
Where exactly is the English Shonen Jump right now with One Piece?
Have they reached Drum Island yet?
I would check myself, but the Shonen Jumps are always in bags at my bookstore.

Nope… still in freaking Little Garden...
LG's about to be finished up though.
Gintama… advanced... less edits permaybehaps?

Technically, no. But Nami just got sick, so by next month, we'll more than likely see Drum Island.
I suscribed to Jump Magazine in America. Did I waste my money? I highly doubt it, because I read those things in Docter's waiting rooms all the time. So many freaking comics…
Okay so.. 2 questions about the Viz Manga.
1. Is there any website or place that points out all the diffences between Viz's version and I guess Stephens Translations/The Names and translations that are commonly accepted here on AP.
2. Based upon where the Viz version is when could I possibly expect Color Walk 2 to be out?

No, they just finished Little Garden this issue. Drum starts next month according to the next issue preview.
There were only two chapters of One Piece again this month; in no small part due to the Dragon Drive preview most likely. April's issue is 376 pages long and the Dragon Drive preview is something like 700 pages long… well, at least that's how long it feels while reading it.

Not to my knowledge; even if there were though, it'd be a fairly pointless endeavor as no two translators ever render anything the same. Beyond that, sometimes the fans get things right and sometimes Viz comes out correct.
Even then, you have incidents like Bon Clay, which both Viz and stephen use, but isn't correct.
2. Based upon where the Viz version is when could I possibly expect Color Walk 2 to be out?
Color Walk 2 ends where… about Vol. 19 or so? Probably the middle of next year at the earliest... unless Viz just goes ahead and releases it prior to the accompanying volumes for whatever reason.
 I wish volum 14 was out already I need some manga to read.
Well, I just got my issue of JUMP, and I just thought I'd share my impressions with everyone:
The kanji on the back of Bon Clay's jacket is kept intact. However, no translation was footnoted (gee, I wonder why )
-The Giant's Final attack on the Island Eater ("Holy Wind Lance" in the Scanlations) is read as "Hakoku Sovereignty"
As noted above, "Bon Clay" is still Bon Clay, as opposed to "Bon Kurei" on the wanted poster.
"El–Baph-Baph--
El--Baph-Baph--??
Everyone is huge--
'Cause they're Giants--" I believe that sounded just as good as on the fansubs
Other than that, it was pretty much a decent translation.
So she's actually called ViVi? That's kinda weird.
EDIT: Oh wait. The manga's typed in all caps right? So that wouldn't matter. I watched the K-F translation of Hakoku Sovereignty. It's just Hakoku, which is Warrior Nation in the Anime, so I think It's a good translation. Is there any footnote saying what Hakoku means?
EDIT2: I found the Volume 15 cover just like we found the fourteenth. On Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/One-Piece-15-Straight-Ahead/dp/1421510928/sr=8-2/qid=1172761883/ref=pd_bbs_2/002-7567590-8516064?ie=UTF8&s=books Hope that works.
Glad she's called 'Vivi' here. It'd have been nice if they did that from the start, but it's still good.
It's like I said - at first they were treating her like a passanger who is a princess, they weren't familiar with her yet. It's really not a big deal.
next month drum arc starts yahoo!
I really hope they drop it right before Arabasta. Having the chapters in the magazine is slowing down the release of the volumes. I mean, by the end of this year it'll only be up to Volume 16… I wish they'd release it monthly/bimonthly.
^that was eexactly wat i thought to myself.there comin out wit each volume like every 3-4 months.not that i need it, i just like gettin them
I agree. Truth be told, I wish they'd stop serialising series in ASJ as the three series I'm most interested in - One Piece, Naruto and Shaman King have 30+ volumes each. At their current rate it would take them far to long to catch up with where Japan is now, and who knows how much further ahead they would be by then.
Wouldn't there be a negative effect of removing the series from one avenue of getting readers?
Not to get any hopes up or anything but at that Viz panel I mentioned in another thread someone asked if any of the new material they're bringing to the magazine is going to replace any of the old stuff. The answer was that an old title will probably be dropped and it's graphic novel release sped up from it's usual 3-4 month release. I highly doubt it's One Piece though since they seem to like it enough to put it on the cover every once and a while.

Most definitely, that's why they don't pull the titles. The only one that would still do well if pulled is most likely Naruto, much like Rurouni Kenshin did.
It would be nice to be able to buy One piece graphic novels more often than once every 3 months, but if it's bad for One Piece's success, I don't think I'd want that to happen!
Kenshin was never in ASJ, no?
I could see it being Shaman King. How long has it been since it got a cover?
If I remember correctly Kenshin was given a small preview but that's about it. They also mentioned that they had a chance to interview Oda himself and that it will eventually be featured in the magazine.
I could see it being Shaman King. How long has it been since it got a cover?
As a Shaman King fan, I'd be happy if they did that. After about volume 9, the anime moved away from the manga and was no longer a pure adaptation. As a result, I'm interested in seeing what was left out.
Alternatively I could see YuYu Hakusho being dropped. As far as I know, the series doesn't have the same level of hype any more and after twelve is released in may, there's only 7 volumes left.
They'll be losing out on readers in the long term if they keep it in there. Lets face it, it sucks not reading a manga from the start. I find it boring to read Yu Yu Hakusho and Shaman King in the magazine because I haven't seen 'em from the start. If they keep it in there for too long the same will happen to One Piece (people will lose interest). It's better to drop it, say, at Arabasta, because then it'll still have a fanbase. Perhaps after Arabasta.
Probably the best bet for dropping soon is a coin toss between Shaman King and Yu Yu Hakusho. Both have been around for a while now, with one completely pretty much done in the States animewise and with not too much left in the manga (YuYu) and the other done animewise, yet still starting some "slightly different" stuff in the manga. (Shaman King) I say if one goes, it probably will be YuYu if only so it can finish, then they can do similar to Shaman King.
Also, I'm pretty sure that Yu-Gi-Oh [Millenium World] is close to finishing up in the magazine, so that might free up some space.
I could see all 3 dropped, but what would they replace it with ?
I could see Fairy Tale put in .
But Fairy Tail is Shonen Magazine Not Jump
Would I be a nitpicker if I kept bitching to VIZ that they are mispelling "Houshin" as "Hoshin" and "Taikoubou" as "Taikobo"? It bugs the crap outta me.
Yes because the u is barely pronounced in japanese.
The OU sound means it's a long O sound…It's not necessary in English pronunciation. In fact, it could make matters worse if someone were to think it ment it was pronouced like "house" or "round" or "wound".
Ha ha. My native language always sounds so dumb when you point it out, Cosmic -.-;
I'm just saying because on both the English DVDs and in JUMP: Ultimate Stars they already have it as "Taikoubou". It just feels right for some reason. And as for the "Hoshin" part, it only really bugged me when I showed it to a friend of mine and pronounced it as "Haw - Sheen". With "Hou- " at least it's easier to say it right.
all i know is it will take a long time to reach to vol 44( my guess is 20 years or more :()
is Vol 14 have any problems in the translation?
Actually at an average of four volumes a year, it should take them around seven to eight years to catch up to where Japan is at this moment in time, i.e. the end of the Water 7/CP9/World Government arc. However, who knows how much further ahead the series will be by then.

I really doubt either Naruto or One Piece will ever be dropped from ASJ either, those are prolly running till the end. 8 years better than never I guess…
Well I'm happy One Piece is getting the interest needed to keep it in ASJ, but I dislike the fact Viz is taking so long to catch up. A fan once suggested in another thread a few years back that Viz should skip to about 100 chapters behind the current Naruto and One Piece chapter and release the missing chapters in one volume every month. I realise this may annoy some people but frankly I prefer having the volumes on my bookshelf then stacks of ASJ.
i can wait two weeks for vol 14 its makes me enjoy it more
Yes, but can you wait for Volume 15 to come out in August?
I know I can, but I don't want to. I kind of do wish they would drop it from the magazine and then release it bi-monthly.
this is odd…In Vol 1 of One Piece Zoro tells Luffy to untie him from the post and he would give luffy the bounty of the next man he captured if he did so(even thought it never happened)..but wasnt it in the anime Zoro told Luffy to go away ?
Has it happened in another OP that a scene ends up different in the anime?

He does both in the manga if I'm not mistaken.
really?
well just saw the new SJ issue is out!
