I just finished reading this book. It is amazing. The interesting thing is before I read it, I always thought the apostle was Mary. The twist with the teacher was so unexpected.
And the movie…Tom Hanks...I dont think he was the best choice, but Ian McKellen as Teabing was superb. I wonder if they will cut out Sophies horrible "flashback" from the movie.

The book is awesome. Can't wait for the movie.
Though, what will the movie be rated? I mean, the book is full of violence, nudity, and enough religous overtones to piss off CapAlert.com.
I didn't get the ending of the book though. So did Langdon find the Holy Grail? Will there be another Robert Langdon adventure?

That is what I assumed. He fell to his knees.

i LOVE the book. but i'm not too sure about the movie, even if it is Tom Hanks. i'm definitely going to watch it just to see how it'll all turn out, but i doubt it'll match the fantastic hype of the book.

That's more than enough of a reason to make a movie where I'm concerned.

I noticed Sophie does not have red hair. That screwed the ending up so bad. Ugh.
-
I gave up sometime in the middle to read it in English.
/me is not good at reading in English.I read some in Japanese, too, but the translation was bleh.
-
Jean Reno is going to be in it. That's a reason to see it.
Though why Tom Hanks? Dan Brown describe Robert as "Harrison Ford in Tweed" so Ford would be the most obvious choice.

I thought you knew perfect English?
@Ubiq: You have a point there. But I take it you haven't heard of capalert.com.
@Zio: Maybe Harrison Ford didn't want to do the movie?
I hope Dan Brown follows the movie's production closely. Frank Miller directed Sin City and it was a perfect adaptation. But Miller co-directed the movie. I think Brown only has creative credit.

What's this book about? Never heard of it.

actually, Tom Hanks wasn't the first choice for Langdon. nor was it the director's second choice, come to think of it.

audrey tautou is so beautiful. she's a good enough reason to watch the movie.
-
My friend's dad is gonna be an extra in this apparently, so I'll probably check it out.

I was disappointed with The Da Vinci Code. There was nothing special about it but I guess the theme was enough to carry readears through the book.
The movie looks action packed.
I didn't get the ending of the book though.
I think it was the epilogue which left me with a bad taste afterwards. Ending was enough good on it's own, there really wasn't any demand to explain the story forward anymore.
-
The book was about the Holy Grail and the conspiracys around it.
-
The book itself sounds quite interesting, though I'm not so sure about the "underlying" theme I keep hearing about it. :/
