I was wondering what kind of crew Gold Roger had. At first you'd think he'd have a massive crew, but when I think about it, I tend to think his crew would be smaller but incredibly powerful, like the Straw Hats now. Just a thought. Anyone have speculations on this?
Curiosity on Roger

Doc Kuleha, Choppers teacher, would be one. She said something at the end of theSnow-Island Arc (Drumm is the islands name in german) that makes you suppose she knew Roger very well.
Other then her, their are no massive clues to who could be another member of Rogers crew. Maybe Dragon ("The world is waiting for our answer") could be one - i suppose he was the youngest member of Rogers Crew, still a child back then. But well, after what Smoker said to him, it's just a wild guess.

I think that he had a small crew of amazing people as well. Still at times I wonder if he didn't do it by himself while being supported by people he met along the way. Wouldn't that be interesting, but probably far from true.

It depends one what you mean by outstanding people, Shanks considered rockstar a rookie when he had a 94 million bounty.
So your talking about people along the lines of the Shikabukai in power? I think he had more people than the strawhats but not as many as Don Creeg. Probably had a crew like Shanks and Whitebeards.

I'm actually interested on what happened to his crew. Were they all executed, are there any of them still out there and if soare they still being hunted down.
I don't think that Dr. Kureha was on his crew, I think she said something about not being interested in the sea, though I do agree that she met him and probably knew him well. Maybe Rogers crew had some illness which she cured them of, but forced them to stay untill they were 100% fit. Luffy did comment on how she was like a pirate, maybe some of Rogers piratey stuff rubbed off on her.

Considering how much Luffy mirrors him, you'd think that he wouldn't have had that big of a crew, but until we get a glimpse of the Oro Jackson, there's really no way to be sure how big his crew was or even who was in it.
As far as the latter goes, I think there's a good chance Whitebeard was in it and that the fight between him and Roger that Buggy mentions was something along the lines of what we saw in Whiskey Peak between Luffy and Zoro. Depending on how the two started out as pirates, they might even have been like Sanji and Zoro.

Yeah, I'd bet Roger found his own crew of nobodies with potential as Luffy has. The only ones in the crew with any relatively well-known reputations before meeting Luffy were "Pirate Hunter" Zoro and Nico Robin. Robin came to him and Zoro's rep had less relevance on Luffy's decision to recruit him than Zoro's personality and skill.

Heh, very true.. but you have to admit.. after this fight at Enies Lobby I'd honestly be extremely shocked if every member don't end up with their own amazingly high bounty!
I mean, according to whats been said, NO ONE has ever done what the Straw Hats have currently done.. nobody have ever broke into Enies Lobby, let alone went all the way to the foot of the Gate of Justice. Ontop of that they've taken down countless military officials and completely wrecked most of the place..
…yea.. I can't wait to see how famous each and everyone of them become after this. Bet Luffy's bounty will end up being near 200,000,000 B. at least.. then there is the rest of his crew...
