I'm reading The Children of Hurin by J.R.R. and Christopher Tolkien, Warcraft-War of the Ancients: The Demon Soul by Richard Knaak, and Xenocide by Orson Scott Card.
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...
What book are you reading now?

The Great Gatsby
The Illiad
Greek Myths
and
Norse Legends -
I'm reading "The Amber Spyglass" right now, and after that I'll be reading "Children of Hurin."
-
"Japanese Tales". It's a collection of Japanese folk tales translated into English. Some of them are hilarious, others are kind of gross. After that, I'll probably be reading Sun Tzu's "The Art of War".
To all you British folks out there: Has Feist announced a date for "Wrath of a Mad God" yet? I've been looking around for an announcement of the release date, and… nothing so far.
-
Finished reading Wooden Heart last night, gonna start 'The Last Dodo' later today methinks.

Apparently on Amazon.co.uk they're showing that the hardcover is being released on October 1st.
I've been reading "The Darkness That Comes Before" by R.Scott Bakker. It's quite a complicated gem and first book of a trilogy, and it's taken a while before I've been able to get into it because of that fact.

Instead of preparing for exams that are in less than a week, I'm re-reading all the books in the Chrestomanci series by Diana Wynne Jones. They were like my childhood. sigh
I used to want to marry Chrestomanci. XD I still do actually. No woman can resist a man who wears campy dressing gowns.
-
I'm reading "Justine Or The Misfortunes of Virtue" by Marquis de Sade. I was surprised when I found that my college had this book in their library, though it makes sense since the version they have is out of graphic excerpts.
Now I'm preparing to read "Beyond the Good and Evil" by Nietzsche.
-
Blood Meridian - Cormac McCarthy
Against the Day - Thomas Pynchon -
Dance Dance Dance - Haruki Murakami
I love Murakami, this is my fourth book i'm reading by him.

Yesterday I was re-reading "The Regulators" by Stephen King (under name of Richard Bachman). Good ol' days when I laid in my bed and read King's books… this one for instance is pure acid trip.
-
Last saturday, I started reading For One More Day by Mitch Albom.
-
Just finished reading the first harry potter book, and considering picking up the others. Also considering looking into the Dark Tower series.

You'll love The Dark Tower series. I've read all 7 of them, and it's nice to see Stephen King doing a genre other than horror. And I hope you get more into Harry Potter. If you start the other 5 books now, you could catch up by the time Deathly Hollows comes out.
-
just finished rereading the dark tower for about the 3rd time, and mein kampf(SP). Just started the Harry potter and wheel of time series over.
-
I love the number 19 now because of the Dark Tower series.
-
Startide Rising for Scifi lit class.
-
"The Elegant Universe" by Brian Greene

I finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2 nights ago. Didn't think it was as much of a let-down as most members here thought it was. Now, I'm looking for another book to read.
-
anybody who didn't read the belgariad by david eddings should stop everything and go for it.

Well, I'd thought I'd bump this since I recently found a highly entertaining series.
First of all, Ill start with my first book
I am Legend
I read this after seeing the trailer, and the pyschological effect and almost political ending was pure brilliance.Moving on
Dresden Files (The New Series I started)
I started out with Storm Front. I thought it was slow, and I expected more off a wizard. The wizard vs. wizard thing was generic imo. I wanted something more supernatural then just another black wizard as the antagonist, and although the writing was great, the plot just wasn't doing it for me, which made it take 3 weeks to complete. Bored, I picked up the second book. So far, its been a thrill ride. The werewolves in it are viscous yet tricky and human-like, which makes it a great pyschological thriller. The gore is sometimes a bit heavy, but so far this book has really gotten me hooked onto the series. Plus, the fact that the next book is about zombies only seals this as a sweet deal. -
Just finished rereading the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.
Kickass books.
Read them.Hell yeah.
I'm currently reading Wheel of Time Book Five: The Fires of Heaven. And it's awesome. Currently, Mat, Loial, and Rand are probably my favorite characters, with Nynaeve being an annoying poohead. UGH YOU WOOLHEADED SHEPHERD SHE SAID AS SHE TUGGED HER BRAID
-
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 10. Its basically fanfics. Yeah. Fanfics, that were chosen as contest winners to be put in an anthology of random stories spanning Star Trek's entire saga. For fanfics, they're pretty well-written, and give a surprising look at life outside the stereotypical trek scene-what with starships and whatnot. Good read.
-
I'm currently reading The Warrior Prophet, book 2 of the Prince of Nothing
by R Scott Bakker
FUCKING AMAZING
-
"Death By Black Hole and other cosmic quandaries" by Neil DeGrasse Tyson
It's a compendium of all of Tyson's essays delving into various topics from both quantum theory & relativity. I would love to attend a lecture by this guy.
-
Wheel of Time: Crown of Swords
I took forever to finish Lord of Chaos, but holy crap that douche bag Pedron Niall got offed only to be replaced by a even larger jerk.
I hate Whitecloaks.
-
Have fun, Winter's Heart is pretty kickass towards the end, but Crossroads Of Twilight is boring as fuck but pretty much sets up the motherfucking awesome plot of Knife of Dreams.
Mazrim Taim, motherfucking badass.
-
Slaughterhouse-five by Vonnegut
I love me winter break.

Such an awesome book.
I'm reading A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess.
-
Right now I have around dozen of Arto Paasilinna's books besides my bed. The one I'm currently reading is "Businessman Liljeroos's Airships".
I have been avoiding the author but I don't know, these books does have a certain charm. The stories are fast, are easy to read, always little absurd and yet down to earth and has this subtle humour all over.
-
I Am America (And So Can You!) A must read for any Colbert fan
-
Plowing through Fall Of Hyperion and the Hyperion series in general.
