I hate Jack in the Boxe's fries! They are so thick and fat ( that was wrong O_o)
I am currently reading Harry Potter right now. I finished reading all of my mangas before readin Harry Potter (I was bored)
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

The Redemption of Althalus by David Eddings.
win
and Al is that the other Tolkien work thats like way in the past?
Yeah, that's the book dealing with all the mythological aspects of the Middle Earth, the creation of the world, the origins of the races, etc etc
Yeah. I read the Silmarillion for a book report about 4 years ago I think. I'm pretty sure it was 5th Grade. Great stuff in there.
I'm reading the Golden Bough by Sir James George Frazer.
I've been meaning to read 'Wicked.'
I'm simultaneously reading four books, I always tell myself not to do that, but I end up reading several books at a time. >_>
-rereading "The Silmarillion"
-rereading "Pendragon Book Five: Black Water" (I'm rereading the entire series so I can read "The Quillan Games"
-"The Truth"
-"Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith"
I'm almost done with the latter two, I'd forgotten how good the Silmarillion was.
I'm rereading the A Song of Ice and Fire series, and waiting for A Feast for Crows to come out in paperback form. I'm also waiting for the next Dresden Files book to come out, White Night, and the next Something from the Nightside, The Symphony of Ages… I'm in a bit of a waiting period at the moment.
Currently, I'm not really reading anything, but I will be soon. I just read the book of John (uhh… the Bible, anyone?) on Saturday, which was pretty tight. Other than that, I've already started the third FMA novel (who's title escapes me at the moment), and Mr. Monk Goes to Hawaii. The Monk one is based off of the show, written by Lee Goldberg, who has written/directed a few episodes. This is the second book in the Monk series of books. Monk is the best detective in the area, but he has a bad case of OCD... and uhh... hilarity ensues. I'm not good at summery writing >_> I also picked up the Snakes On A Plane novelization, which I will read... sometime...
See, reading is all about enjoyment to me. And at the point I am now, enjoyment is not about a deep 1,000-page epic novel.
The end
The Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi
^ I have that on my coffee table, I should probably take a stab at it, since I'm now only reading two books.
They have Monk novels?! I've got to get my hands on those, I love Monk.
Once i'm finished with Redemption of Althalus I intend to read the Elenium and the Tamuli and Eddings latest works even though they aren't as great as people would like I keep hearing.
yeah, i also waonder if i should read althalus and the other stuff eddings did after it, but i think i might be dissapointed, and i don't want that to happen.
i restarted reading zola, btw, and it's starting to be pretty good.
Been getting in to Terry Pratchett stuff lately… Currently reading Nightwatch, Going Postal and Reaper Man. It's going kind of slowly, as you'd expect from a lazy person reading three books at once.
Squee! Just found this thread! I'm a huge book dork (hell I work in a book store >.<) so I'm usually reading a thing or two. Yesterday I finished Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones….cute, fun, fast read, different from the movie. I'm rereading Homeland by R. A. Salvatore more to refresh myself on the Drow for a roleplay game my friends are starting. I'm somewhere in The Memoirs of Cleopatra by Maragret George. I like it, but I may decide to put it aside if I don't finish it before it is due at the library. Finally, I just took Fingersmith by Sarah Waters out yesterday. I loooooved Tipping the Velvet, and I love the Victorian setting, so I hope this one will be just as good!
Zio just sent me a pile of books for my birthday, and I also have a bunch of manga to catch up on. Soooo much to read
Oh and I also read from the beginning and caught up to the current Berserk manga chapter currently at 278 in just a few days.
I just finished re-reading Life of Pi by Yann Martel for one of my literature classes, and while it's a good book, it is definitely something that needs to be read twice in order to fully appreciate it. On the surface it's about a boy who ends up stranded at sea with a few wild animals (including a Bengal tiger) as his companions, but it's also a commentary on religion and faith.
Right now, I'm reading Atonement by Ian McEwan.
Waiting for Book 5 of A Song of Ice and Fire, while reading various fantasy stories
I've been slowly working my way through the Doctor Who eBook called 'Nightshade'
I've been reading The Eleventh Commandment by Jeffery Archer.
I'm being forced to read The Scarlet Letter.
It's quite the ancient.
Supposed to be reading the No-No Boy's for English.
Though I'll probably skim through it and read a Burroughs novel instead.
Cyringohn is not a book person, whatsoever. However, the last major book he read was Hard-Boiled Wonderland and The End of the World.
I just finished Sanshiro by Natsume Soseki, and just started Kokoro by Natsume Soseki, next up is I Am A Cat by Natsume Soseki. I love Soseki if you can't tell. >_>

Oh, I read Life of Pi this summer! Now, I'm reading one that I somehow feel I should've read a long time ago: Watership Down.
Right now, I'm reading Stuck in Neutral. Half way done and it's good so far. I'm waiting for the action, though. =/
@Senshi:

What a weird coincidence. I'm actually also reading Watership Down too, but I put that aside for the time being while I get through all my novels for class. It's giving me bad vibes though, like some of the cute little bunnies might bite it.
@ Seta: If you liked "Howl's Moving Castle" try "Dark Lord of Derksholm" from the same author, it's great! Well, anything by Diana Wynne Jones is, "Chrestomanci Quartet", anyone?
Otherwise, I just finished "Dance Dance Dance" by Haruki Murakami, "Sophie's World" by Jostein Gaarder and "Like Water for Chocolate" by Laura Esquivel (<- read this!).
As always, I'd like to ask for recommendations but please no historical novels, I can't stand those. >_>
I did some calculations the other day and I've been reading a book every five days on average for the last six months… o_O I think this is because I've moved into a new flat and the bookcases look so empty!
interpretations after sex
The Rum Diary by Hunter S. Thompson
Two thousand Leagues under the sea. I only read it because there is nothing else. The whole thing is good and al lbut I don't like the way it's like uptight men in tuxedos going around having prejudiced ideas. I mean, honestly, can't you just go around the big squids? Rather than destroy nature?
I find using the word "breafast" as a verb a bit iffy.
i'm currently reading the book 8 of the wheel of time by robert jordan, "ravage" by barjavel and "la fortune des rougon-macquart" by emile zola.
I´m almost done with the fifth Wheel of time book, it´s awesome….
Harry Potter Book 6 for now..
Belgariad / Mallorean atm - the Best Fantasy Book Series EVER Written IMO
IT must be crazy good to be better than Lord of the Rings. O_o Anyways, I finished Unfinished Tales, and am now starting I Am A Cat by Natsume Soseki.
its blows LOTR out of the water
its blows LOTR out of the water
Yes I agree, have you tried the Elenium and the Tamuli series by Eddings? It's not as great as the previous 2 series' but it's pretty good all the same.
I read everything hes written
I'm reading The Looking Glass Wars. Loving it very much~
I just read God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy, and I recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it yet because I think it's the best book I've read so far this year.
Also finished Disgrace by JM Coetzee which was a good book, but harrowing subject matter.
Since last week I've been reading Stephen King's newest book, Lisey's Story. It's actually one of the only horror stories I've read by him.
I went through a Stephen King phase in high school. I think Misery was the best out of the ones I read.
Sherlock Holmes - The Sign of Four (my favorite SH mystery)
One Country: A Bold Proposal to End the Israeli-Palestinian Impasse by Ali Abunimah.
I saw this guy speak a couple years ago when I was in college, and was amazed by his burning desire to bring these warring peoples together. He's certainly a man who could one day be a Martin Luther King to his people. This book just came out and he clearly states his position on the merits of the one state solution and why the two state solution has been such a dismal failure. Fascinating stuff…

Same here, but I preferred the Dark Tower series overall, but the best single book was probably either The Stand or Insomnia.
I'm currently reading David Edding's The Hidden City (Book 3 of the Tamuli).
I'm reading a Norwegian comedy/fantasy: The Four, And He Whom Made Bad Worse. Hilarious, violent and totally kickass. If there was some English translation of it out, you'd just HAVE to read. Love it.
William Golding's Lord of the Flies. It's well written, but just a bit too pessimistic to seem realistic if I have to be honest.
Just finished Theodore Sturgeon's More Than Human, though, and man, that was one of the most engaging stories I've read in some time.
Just last week, I finished reading Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen.
Now, I'm almost finished with Paulo Cohelo's The Alchemist. It's one of the best books I've read so far.
The Light Fantastic by Terry Pratchett YAY DISCWORLD.
The Notebook, The Proof, The Third Lie
its really 3 novels…but combined into one book
I'm currently reading Meat is Murder by Joe Pernice (33 1/3 vol. 5)
I also just finished Our Band Could Be Your Life by Michael Azerrad.
