Well, I didn't get an ipod for Christmas. I didn't ask for one, just anything that could play a bunch of songs and was easy to hold while jogging. Personal preference? Sony Bean. Didn't get it.
No big deal.
Anyone who's been to any China Town in any part of the World knows that Asia offers us many wonderful things, not the least of which are knock-off bootleg products. Guess what I got for Christmas? Yep. And guess what, considering the pricetag, it's a damn fine piece of equipment.
Oh jesus it's a long link stretching my screen sob
Introducing the JXD681 Portable Media Player. It plays mp3's and mp4's. It records television programs and displays onto any television via AV cables. It displays text for e-books. It takes photos AND home movies all which can be stored on the device's 512MB of memory or of course SD memory cards which handily plug into the device. All in the palm of your hand.
"Well kick me in the groin and call me Gary! That sounds too good to be true."
Well it is and isn't.
The thing is really awesome. That's the truth from a tight-ass brand-loving nerd such as myself. However, it IS a knock-off and although it does many things, there is no one thing it does exceptionally well.
Photos are large are beautiful in well-lit environments but there's no flash and it's only 1.3 mp which is ok for taking fun photos but nothing serious.
The movies it records look amazing! But there is no stabilizer and it can't handle being swung around like a normal camera. Slow and steady produces some amazing results though.
mp4 player is awesome. One Piece in the palm of my hand.
mp3 player is nice. No playlists or anything but the analog control is useful for cycling through stuff.
Great battery life, I run that puppy into the ground.
All-in-all the poor-man's media device but still a really nice piece of equipment!
Legal Statement: I'm not selling that and am not associated with it but ebay was a quick way to find a pic.
