Mother 3 is currently in development for GBA. Here's hoping we'll see something at E3.
And Mother 1+2 has been out in Japan for over a year. Here's hoping they eventually bring it here.
-
After looking at the favorite RPG thread, I didn't realize how many Earthbound fans there were (here, anyway). I would like for it to be re-released since I never actually bought it. Also, will Mother 3 (Earthbound 2) EVER come out?! It's been cancelled I think twice.
-
I was pretty pissed when I saw that they weren't bringing the GBA port of Earthbound and Mother over here…
And i think they are making Mother 3, I think it said so in the trailer for the Mother+Mother 2 GBA port...
-
When anyone finds out if 1 and 2 are coming to america, please tell me.
-
i'd be quite suprised if it was released on Gamecube. that'd be interesting to see.
-
For Earthbound 1 and 2, you could always…
coughdownload an emulator and romcough.
And while we're on the subject of Earthbound, what was your favorite location? I loved Fourside and Summers! I love the Summers music. Everytime I go to the beach, the Summers tune starts playing in my head.
-
I personally liked Threed's Music; the melancholy tone just moves me. (NO, not Zombie Threed. XD)
Other favorites are Saturn Valley (Me and my buddy Emily were humming that as loud and obnoxiously as we could down a strip of the Galeria Mall in Buffalo, and we eventually had a party of goths humming along with us… XD
OH! The Hippie Battle music, and all of the boss music as well.

Haha, which one was the Hippie? The one where you fought the Hippie? I'm trying to remember it. I liked the Franky Battle music and a few others.
-
The Hippie fight music sounded like a 50's rock n roll tune, and it was awesome. My favorite song in the game, hands down.
I also loved Fourside, Winters, and Saturn Valley. Saturn Valley was probably my favorite town, DUNGEON MAN was the best dungeon.
My favorite character in the game was Brick Road/Dungeon Man. The Mr. Saturns rocked too.
Earthbound is definitely one of those few games that I've played that have a heart, a soul. It's something I can't describe, but I know it's there, and I've only felt it in a few games… Earthbound is seriously underrated.

Earthbound is and will be my favorite game of all time. I've had it since it came out and it is currently in my SNES right now.
-
I didn't play it until a few years ago when I got the ROM. I really wish they'd bring the GBA port over…
-
Yeah, ok! That "Hippie" music was what played when you fought Franky, so we have the same taste in midi music. Haha.
Earthbound's fights were so trippy, I loved it with the psychadelic backgrounds and music. Shoot, now I'm thinking about dusting my old SNES off just to play it again. ^^
My favorite NPC wasn't Brick Road but probably Everdred or the Photographer. I HATED Pokey and wanted to take a bat to his face.
-
i loved earthbound,it was the fuuniest game on the SNES for me.
P.S-treed music was my favorite
-
Never played Earthbound, but I'm an absolute master with Ness in Super Smash Brothers: Melee.
-
I was going to upload the Hippie theme, but it seems the attachment feature is gone.
Oh yeah, Everdred was great too. I also liked Lier X. Agerate, the guy that sold you Jeff's weapons, and of course, the Runaway Five. I almost screamed in joy when they ran in and took out the Clumsy Robot.
-
I've only played the unreleased NES game but I liked what I played.
Here's hoping Earthbound hits the GBA…
-
omg i love this game i just got to Threed, so i'm not very far but it's like the funnest game
-
Ahhh, Earthbound… quite possibly the greatest RPG ever. (Sit down, you CT Fans, you're WRONG.)
I recently read a really nifty essay on it's value as a work of literary expression. If you feel like reading a rather long thing, here ya go: http://www.largeprimenumbers.com/article.php?sid=mother2

Earthbound was so great, I was even willing to forgive it for its head-on battle view (the same thing that annoys me so much in Dragon Quest, where you can't see your characters – the psychadelic backgrounds kept it from being boring).
And Pokey? The little snot was Cartman before there was a Cartman. In fact, when I saw the first South Park commercials, my reaction was "Wow, it's like Earthbound the TV show".
