Seeing as how we last saw her behind CP9, I really doubt it. Spandam pushed Franky off, but Robin would have to jump off herself and Spandam is not going to let that happen.

At this point, Spandam has to be well aware that holding onto Robin is the only possible way for him to salvage the situation. If he loses her and the plans to Pluton, well, he can kiss that promotion and his current position goodbye.

Just a general note to several different people: If you don't like the quality of scans, feel free to get a job at Shueisha and scan them in yourselves or feel free to carefully search for them like Battle Franky before using your own bandwidth to host the zip file.

Both the Scan Ninja and Battle Franky put in a lot of effort to do this for the fans at no real benefit to themselves. Whoever is working at Shonen Jump is actually putting themselves on the line by doing this as I doubt their corporate masters really like this idea.

So, please, kindly shut the hell up about the scans. They're small, but will eventually be replaced by larger scans, so just deal with it.

Great chapter. There are a couple of just amazing moments in it.
I love the line-ups on pages 2-3. Can you imagine if those were the real match-ups? Match the CP9 to their opposite Strawhat and imagine how cool that would be. Kaku vs Sanji would be sweet but Usopp vs Lucchi? That is a fight I would love to see.
Franky continues to kick ass though I really wonder where he had those plans hidden (and might be better off not knowing).
I can't wait to see Spandam get his ass handed to him. It will be a wonderful thing because he so deserves it.

It's as crucial to development of the history as any other chapter. First we put Franky together with the SW something that decreases the chance of them getting to Enies Lobby. Second, this raises an interesting question:
if the RocketMan was able to become operational again, is able to cross water without the tracks and i'll assume is able to walk on land i think we might get to see the SH using it to cross the RedLine... wich is a problem that lay ahead in the SH way to Raftel.

i dunno if this has been brought up before, most probably it has, but i was just thinking.. what if it really was like that? as in usopp facing lucci. not saying that it will happen, and i'm doubting it myself too, but it would be a great way for usopp to prove to himself (and for others) that he IS worthy. we all remember how angsty he was when he and luffy had that fight, and before that usopp was saying how weak he is.

I always imagined in a turn of events usopp fighting kaku and showing he's not a weak nakama, also because kaku destroyed merry and you know… they're both long noses!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing actually. Chapter 399 helped move the story along in a very good way. The chances of Franky joining the SH's has greatly increased for three reasons.

Luffy knows now that Franky owes Usopp a debt
He burned the plans to Pluton and bet on the SHs to defeat CP9
Franky was saved by the SHs

On another note, Baskerville was most likely defeated (along with just about all the other high-level gaurds at EL). Paulie might now be involved in the battle, seeing as FF showed up and Rocketman made it's return. Then there's the idea of still having to save Robin, while battling the foes of their live. 400 should own…big time.

also i think we might've gotten the line ups, but a bit differently from what was posted above what i see is:

Nami->ZipperMouth (Fukurou)
Zoro->Kaku
Luffy->Lucci
Usopp->Jyabura
Sanji->KabutoGuy
Chopper->Calipha

So we have Calipha getting a Zoan to fight chopper, Kaku prolly a Paramecia (maybe a Logia!) to fight Zoro.
Robin would probably be kidnaped by Spandam, and they had to chase her after they are done with the fighting. Also Franky could chase her….
Sounds interesting to me, but i really want to see a full-scale Battle Royal

The reason Oda had the CP9 and the strawhats lined up that way (my guess) is precisely so that he has his fans debating the possible match ups.

That is pretty much what I was dreaming of. If Usopp totally pwns the baddest CP9 then there is no doubt, even his own mind, as to how tough he is. Personally, I think that Usopp could crack any of the CP9 bunch with a combination of the right stars.
And I'd really like to see Lucci get hit with a catnip star or something :laugh:

Awesome chapter. I really loved Franky in this one and the way Rocketman just bursts into the scene in the last couple of pages is just damn awetricular.

Oh thatÂ´s what you meant. Well, I donÂ´t think that this will be much of a problem. Right now they donÂ´t have any time to lose thatÂ´s why they have to get over as quickly as possible. But after all the fights are over I think that they could easily figure out a way to get back. Maybe even the drawbridge will get repaired then.

I think a lot of people took the "filler" comment to heart. Not saying it wasn't cool, just…not much happened. In Arlong Park, Usopp hit Chuu and etc. That's what I meant.

Franky had some cool shots in here, but the winner is Kiwi. Can't wait for the translation, of course.

Looking at the last few covers, when they first showed Miss Goldenweek I thought that it was a flashback regarding her joining Baroque Works (or are the covers always current time line? I guess the hair was a clue.). With this latest cover it looks like she is trying to break out all of the officer agents including Crocodile himself. I wonder if her attempt will be foiled or whether we'll get to see more of those characters again?

The covers are always set in the present. They started off Little Garden where they were after getting their asses kicked by SHs.
