I don't think there's anyone who could substitute Ikue Ootani.
But I agree, I don't think it fits him. It's too.. feminive. Ootani doesn't sound that feminive.
But it can't be helped. I just hope Ootani will get better soon.

I noticed it immediately and were shocked
I didn't even remember the VA changing..
First sound Chopper makes is gasping and I noticed from that already.

Wow, welcome back Pepsi! It's been so long since we've last seen you. I kind of like Ikura Kazue's Chopper, but nothing can compare to Ikue Ohtani.

im so sick of this, she sounds fine. The only reason you guys are complaining is becuase ONE person here complained and everyone else had to jump on the freaking bandwagon.
I seriously would bet all my savings that no one would have even noticed had the announcement not been made… whiners

oh i bet i wouldve noticed. (though i didnt notcie namis but little garden was where i first started watching the anime then nami got sick and it took me like a month to get the next set of dvds so yeah.)

I didnt notice the Little Garden switch until I was told. Fortunately it was my first time through such a big anime, when I didn't even know what a manga was or thought about things like how long the anime had been running which would call for "shit happens"ing. I'm sure I would be able to tell with this one even with no announcement. Not as high pitched (a boy can sound hipitched but still male), less screechy, and the microphone level even sounds lower.

I think that's an overly presumptuous remark. I'm not a moron, I don't dislike a voice just because someone else said they didn't like it. I'm perfectly capable of making my own judgements on whether I like something or not or whether I think it fits (and so are other people).

However a character sounds to you is your opinion, and you're free to debate it, but we already have a thread about this. And, seeing as how things could get messy quite quickly here…
