How does one making animated signatures/avatars…? Yeah...
Signature/Avatar Help

Too bad the forums changed cause now all the links are down and I can't find that thread.
Anyway, I use Adobe ImageReady to make my animated gifs. You need to get a program that will make gifs. Once you have that you can either upload the clip you are trying to make into your program….or....take screenshots from the clip and make a sequence out of it.

Thanks alot, mates!

I have a question also. I posted a gif from Photo Bucket for my sig. and as you can see, it says, "Oops, my image is no longer here." Is there any way that I can post the gif as my signature?
-
Is the image still in your photobucket account?
If so maybe you didn't type it in properly. So what did you try to do to get that gif as your signature?
You can also use imageshack to show your gif.
-
can anyone help. when i try to upload an avatar url it says remote file uploading has been canceled. what does it mean. i can't get a custom avatar
-
Its probably down for the moment so you just have to try saving it in your comp and then uploading the pic from your comp.
-
Remote uploading has been turned off, you have to upload from your own comp at the moment.
-
well i tried that but it said file is not valid.
-
what is the file extension? jpg, gif, png? Also, what is the file size?
-
well i dunno what file extension is.im using paint to make it if thats what u mean. the pic was a jpg. and the size on the internet was 302x340 pixels. I guess i should get a smaller one.
-
that's too large, it needs to be 150x150 pixels or smaller.
-
alright i'll keep trying. why did u stop remote file uploading anyway.

I also have a question about sigs (even though I'm not new around here… but it's been a while, fo sho!). Now, when I edit my sig, no matter how I do it the sig image just ends up as a link and not an image. Is something messed up? No more images allowed in the sigs? It's kind of annoying... Maybe it'll show up when I post a comment here...? I'll feel dumb if it does.
EDIT: Okay so it shows the images when I'm NOT logged in, but it won't show them when I am... Is this happening for anyone else? Because it's dumb.
-
Have you tried going to User CP -> Edit Option -> go down to Convert ![](to in quotes? -> click on Image)
-
Mei Yanohi, let me know if you are still having that problem.

You have to right click the image and click on View Image so that you just see the image only.Like this http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/19met/ft060224.gif
To get this

Hey, thanks for trying to help me slaygore. I'm gonna post again and sound like an idiot, because I know there is someone else out there who probably doesn't get it either.
Ok, do I right click on the link, or the actual picture. And do I right click on the image else where, or on photobucket.? I've tried right clicking, and I see no "view image", so I'm not sure what's going on.
Also, I don't understand, "it has to have it's own link." Doesn't it have it's own link on photobucket? I seems you used the same link?
"Waaaa, someone else can use my sig, but I can't"
-
Yeah, excuss me for my poor explainations since I don't really know the true term to these things.
Okay right now your link only sends us to your photobucket account, like so:
http://photobucket.com/albums/f279/19met/?action=view¤t=ft060224.gif
What you do is right click on your image and click on View Image.
To get you to here, like shown below
Then you copy this link
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/19met/ft060224.gifand use ![](and put it as your signature.)

ok, I think i figured out where we are getting confused. First, Your using Mozzilla Fire fox, and I'm using Explorer. Thus, for some reason Explorer does not give me the option to "view image" when I right click.
Second, I'm still unsure, what the difference is, with a photobucket link, and another link, you say I need for the pic. Otherwise, I might be able to figure a way around this firefox/explorer thing.
I do understand a little better what I'm doing though. I just need to figure out how to get this particular link.
Is there some way I could just upload this stuff from my hard drive, like my avatar?

not to AP Forums because we don't provide an image hosting service =\

Ah okay, so you're using IE.
Sorry but I'm going to go through your photobucket account a little bit.
Well then all you have to do is go to your account and on the pic you want as your signature just copy and paste the link on the IMG section to your sig
-
tada. I see what those different links are for on photobucket now. They just did all the work for me. I f I want a pic as a tag, or the actual image, etc. Arigato Slaygore. digs into her usopp bag here's a brand new stereo. Enjoy!
