Gambit vs. Mysterio

In a dark corner of a river boat, a slim man sat playing cards. Red eye's glowed from across the table as he eyed the rest of the boats patrons.

"Alright Remy, I call. Whatcha got?" a funny looking man said across from him.

The cajun smiled as he threw his cards on the table "Four kings, mes amis. Read it and weep." he said with a smile as he began to rake in the pot.

The odd man scratched his head "you know you been winnin an awful lot, you sure you ain't cheatin us" he said as he gave him a hard stare.

"Oh shut it, you old cout, you juss angry cuz your losin" Gambit said as he began to shuffle the deck. Suddenly the doors of the room blew open. Green smoke blew through the room and an odd figure emerged.

"Foolish mortals tremble in fear at the power of the masterful Mysterio" as he spoke these words lightning flew from his fingertips and sent the patrons in a terror. "Bow before your new lord and master…and empty your wallets and valuables into my loyal minions bags, AND BE QUICK ABOUT IT" he shouted as several masked men began to work their way through the crowd.

"You have got to be kiddin me" Gambit said to himself as he observed the spectacle before him. When one of the minions worked his way in front of his table. Gambit regarded him with a smile as he deftly charged the table with kinetic energy "You know if I was you, I would consider a change in occupation." With that he threw the table up at the man before him.

"Hahahahahaha, gaze upon me and tremble mortals" Mysterio laughed as he watched over the chaos before him. Suddenly an explosion shook him out of his egotistical rant. "Hey what is going on over there, Who dares to stand against the might of MYSTERIO" he shouted in frustration.

From the smoke the ragin Cajun emerged. "Are you aware that you have fishbowl on your head, I mean I don' know about the rest of these gents but I have a hard time takin a fella serious, lookin as ridiculous as you" he said with a wry smile.

"How dare you mock the might of Mysterio" the chrome doomed dictator yelled "I will crush you".

In the Spider-man game for Genesis, Mysterio was the highlight. You just trapped him in his corner and beat the shit out of him. Man, that was great. But Gambit's been cool in everything he's been in.... and he slaughtered those dirty Morlocks.

Gambit's cool and all, but he didn't have Kevin Smith writing him. He wrote one of the best Daredevil stories ever, and made Mysterio go out with a bang, litteraly.

As I already said, in one of the best Daredevil stories ever, Mysterio litteraly destroyed DD's/Matt's life:

he made Foggy Nelson, Matt's best friend get accused for murder and put into prison, which made his girlfriend Liz Osborn dump him, and his own mother, Rosalind Sharpe, reject him (which ultimately led Matt to abandon the law firm of Sharpe, Nelson and Murdock)
he made DD hurt Black Widow and almost murder a child
he killed the child's mother and a few of his own thugs
he made Karen (Matt's then ex-girlfriend) and Matt believe that Karen had AIDS
he paid Bullseye to slaughter homeless and nuns in a church just to attract DD's attention
Bullseye killed Karen Page in front of DD's eyes with his own billy-club
at the end, he shot himself

i don't know anything about comics and i don't even know who really are gambit and mysterio, but each time i won a fight in marvel vs capcom on psx, my character was gambit. so i vote for him!

Actually, I always thought that the glass bowl was kinda intimidating, besides, it fits the name perfectly.

Silly costumes don't make some characters any less awesome. Just look at Flaming Carrot, Battle Pope or Sixpack.

and i just gotta know what exactly is a "cajun"?
that question always bothers me when ever i read any story with gambit in it cause they always mention the word cajun like 15 times.

As a little kid I was all about Spider Man. Mysterio is such a classic villain I just had to vote for him. I dig Gambit and all, but Mysterio is part of my childhood. Gambit I didn't know until my teens.

Gambit leapt to the side as a small bomb fell to the floor and sent tables and chairs flying. Landing in a heap he let out a groan "Mon dieu this fool isn't as harmless as he seems" he said as he dusted himself off and stood up. "Alright let's try this again" Gambit said producing a card from his jacket. The card glowed with energy as he sent it hurtling through the air.

"What the…" Mysterio gasped as the card came hurtling towards him. The card hit him in the head and his dome crumbled revealing a mass of wires and circuitry. "Muhahahaha you didn't think it would be that easy did you" Mysterio's voice rung through the air.

Suddenly a small cube fell to the floor and a flash of light washed over the room. When the light cleared Gambit found himself surrounded by flesh eating Zombie's. "Oh you have got to be kiddin me" Gambit said as he eyed the undead horde. With a flurry he sent cards flying at the monsters before him. His eyes were a mix of confusion and horror as the energy charged cards passed through his opponents and exploded upon the floor behind them. Upon closer inspection he realized the monsters weren't moving at all.

Mysterio dashed out of the riverboat casino and hauled ass through the boat in a mad dash to get away with the cash he had managed to grab. "What fools, they are probably cowering in fear at the holograms I left behind. I have plenty of time to get away" he laughed to himself. Suddenly a glowing Jack of Spade's landed in front of him. "What the ..." Mysterio gasped as the card exploded.

Gambit stepped out in front of Mysterio. "It seems you like to play games, You t'ink you some big shot, but you ain't nottin but a thief. Gambit knows a thief when he see's one. You see it takes one to know one, n'ecst pas" Gambit grinned as he stood triumphantly over his fallen opponent.

"Why you dirty cajun..." Mysterio shouted as he rushed at Gambit in a fit of rage. He found himself halted as Gambit held up a hand to his chrome plated helmet.

"Now why you gon an say a t'ing like dat" Gambit smirked. "You gon an got dis Cajun rat all riled up" he said as he began to fill Mysterio's helmet with kinetic energy. "You know Gambit so angry at dat insult he feels like he could jus explode" with a wicked grin he shoved Mysterio away from him.

Mysterio's helmet exploded on contact as he fell back leaving him unconcious.

Winner Gambit!
