Basically I made this thread to ask U guys what was the "Worsest Moment(S) In Gaming". The topic can relate to anything like a popular game being delayed numerous time cough Starcraft Ghost cough or Your little brother or sister accidently unplugging your controller at a crucial moment.

Anyway to officially start this thread off right here's a moment I consider one of the W.M.I.G.

"Sega dropping out of the console market". To be honest I was never really a Sega fanboy but it sort of suprised me when I found out they would no longer be making consoles anymore (guess they got tired of getting their asses kicked by Sony), I was more or less relieved of the fact that I didn't buy a Dreamcast but ironically would wind up buying a Gamecube which sort of acts like a Double-Edge Sword so to speak but that's another story for another day.

I have two one isn't mine it is my brothers but he doesn't post on here. First mine Suikeden 3. I am not saying it is a bad game however I played this game twice and both time's it lost my memory card the minute I made it through the third act of any one of the main characters storys. Weeks of game time down the drain…twice.

The other is my brother and while it was his own dumb fault it still sucks. He had been playing Dragon Quest 8. He was sixty hours into his game. He turned it on and was randomly hitting the A or B buttons while switching the channels over to the channel he needs for the gamecube on the tv. He gets to the spot and it says are you sure YES or NO? He thinks he is loading his game, so he hits yes. The gamecube then proceed's to delete his sixty hours of gameplay. Yes I know this is his own dumbfault, but anytime you lose that much time it is a crappy moment. Happened to me with Castelvania 64 as well.

Also, On Chrono Trigger, I kept going through the game, trying to get all charicters to level 100. (just to say i did it) I had them up in the 80's when my friends wanted to borrow the game. Now, it was just an accedent, but they deleted my file!! Hours and Hours of gaming. AAARRRRRR. I have no desire to start over again.

Another thing just came to mind. being teased about playing sonic the hedgehog game. (wasn't very popular in school) Most of you morons play the friggen game yourself!! why the hell are you making fun of me for playing it!!! (never liked teenagers, even when i was one) blows off steam

Come on, Donkey Konga is good, even my mom likes it. Junge Beat is awesome.

I would say O.D.T. aka Or Die Trying for PSX. Never should had bought that game, I even read reviews saying it's bad and I still bought it. God knows why…

about 4 years ago, I was play the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the GBA, and I was nearly done with the game, and my brother stole the GBA and gave it to his freind (because he doesn't have a GBA and asked if he could borrow one of mine and I said no). That night I noticed the GBA was missing, and so I asked my brother if he knew what happened to it, but every time I asked that, he just said "I promise to God, I didn't do it!" (every time he says that, you KNOW he's lying. He's done it before). The next day, he comes to me and says "Randy (his freind) dropped the Gameboy and the Zelda game won't work". Whenever I started the game, it would just say "File 1, 2, and 3 has currupted". I never forgave that fool.

Last year, I was playing Super Mario 64 DS and I had 132 stars, and I was also playing Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones for the GBA. My brother had the 2nd file on the game, and he started another file on the 3rd file for the heck of it, and I let my freind erase the 3rd one and play it, and my brother blamed it on me. So what he does is he goes and erases my Super Mario 64 DS file. I was mad.

Not to mention Grabbed by the Ghoulies. I think that all of the fame and the money it took to buy Rare went to their heads, making all of these subpar games and saying "We're Rare! We are legendary! They will buy our stuff!"

Ok, in SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters Clash for Neo-Geo Pocket Color (still haven't found a card game I like as much as it by the way - real or video game) I had almost all the cards in the SNK version. My friend was going to trade me a card I was missing from his copy. But, the same day, when he turned his game on, his file was replaced with some gibberish. One of his little cousins (who couldn't read) saved over his file.

Glad it wasn't my copy. But I never did get that card.

I was looking through some old magazines and it was apparently announced for the Gamecube… around 2002.

In the case of save-overs, it's happened to me twice. The first time was in Final Fantasy VII, when I had reached Cosmo Canyon (I think, it's been ages). My sister saved her game over it. The second time was in Megaman Legends 2, after the first boss fight (can't remember the name of that place, it was the winter island you could only get to via dropship). She saved over that as well (and it was the first day I started playing it).

Oh, and Viewtiful Joe: Red Hot Rumble. Big disappointment.

Or what I have to do. Insert the cartridge with less than an inch sticking out, then pushing it down (hard to explain). It's asinine, but you get used to it (and is the only way to play them).

For me, just a while ago. I couldn't really afford the overnight trick, so I'd spent two months gathering all the secrets in MvC2. As I was about to complete it and get the last three gallery pics, my file messed up.

Well, for me that definitely was a bad moment.

Oh, and the first time SNK "died" and recalled all their NGPC games. I went everywhere to find the ones I was missing but they all told me the same thing. They didn't sell out of the games, they were just told to send the games back. That made me pretty angry…there were so many I was still planning to buy. I never finished my NGPC collection either...I'd hate to resort to eBay for that.

I was pissed after Pokemon Yellow. It was my favorite of them all so I put all my Pokemon including Mew, but not Missingno. He stayed on my Pokemon Blue. One day I turned it on and it said "Game data lost" and I lost all of my Pokemon.
I procedded to throw it at my wall. Damn I was pissed.

DON'T BLOW IN THE NES CARTRIGES!!! grabs her preseous NES games and hides them Spit rusts the connectors. Your suposed to clean them with a q-tip, and rubbing alcohaul if needed. If there is rust, I've been told you can get very fine sand paper and carefully sand it off.

As for the connectors inside the system, there is a way to tighten them, but it's really hard without wrecking them. I just bought a new one.

Anywho, back on topic. I remember when you rented a game in the old days, and you got so far in it. Then you had to return it, and of coarse, when you got to rent it again, some other putz who rented it, eraced your quest. (hey, not all kids can afford to buy every game they desire)

I personally use a can of air for my consoles, carts, comps etc. It's like blowing into them just no spit, just the air.

Anywho, Worst moments in gaming for me was thinks probably Evergrace, I didn't have any others games for my PS2 and was forced to play that crap.

Yeah except that Jungle Beat has NOTHING to do with the DKC trilogy. All the enemies do not fit in with previous DK games. Jungle Beat would've been much more appropriate as a Wario or Yoshi game but not a DK game. Nothing in it carries the same feeling DK and his posse had since the SNES era. And that's a crying shame really.

Now for me, the worse moment in gaming is Nintendo giving the Revolution that damn DVD remote for it's controller.

As a Yoshi or Wario game, eh? I really don't see how. Junge Beat was a better game than Donkey Kong Contry games were - it doesn't have to carry the feeling of oldies to be able to stand alone. As something new and different was the whole point of the game, what would have been more appropriate that to give the Donkey Kong universe a new facelift?

Anyway, Revmote would be in my "Best Moments in Gaming" :happy:.

tomb raider 2 in the boat under the sea. i didn't get that i could close the doors i opened behind me, i lost, like, 2 weeks, doing nothing, idling around, i went mad. oh, i had already lost 2 weeks in venice, doing nothing because i didn't see one small amount of pixels that was supposed to be a switch. fuck that game. but globally it was good.

Two save over stories

One was the Zelda: Link's Awaking game for the GB. My cousin let me have the game because he wasn't interested in it anymore. So I started playing and I had gotten pretty far. When he saw that, he wanted to borrow it. So I let him and well….you know. I get it back and the dope erased my game. Not only that but when he restarted it, he left stuck in the middle of a game and I have no idea where to go next. Needless to say, all those hours of gameplay wasted.

DK2, techniclly this was no one fault but a faulty cartrigde. Finally got through that haunted level (the one right before the pirate castle) and made it to the boss. I had yet to beat him so I saved. However when I come back, what do I find? ALL my saved games gone. I pretty much rivaled Darth Vader when I screamed out.

And lastly SNK moving most of their game to the XBOX because Sony thought 2-D game were "out of style" or some stupid mess. Because of that, I couldn't get the one game I was really looking forward to from them: Metel Slug 3. And what really pisses me off is that it was released in Europe on the PS2. Ugh talk about unfair, just because of some companies ego.

Hmmm it seems like everybody has a common problem with save games I got a couple of my own.

This one time my sister brought her boyfriend's PS2 & copy of San Andreas which sat down and played for awhile getting somewhat far into the game, anyway I had decided to play this Sony demo which featured like 6 or 7 games. After playing it for awhile I moved on to Star Wars Battlefront completely forgetting that if you played Battlefront and had saved games on your memory card it would erase all the data on it and needless to say all my progress in San Andreas got erased.
Another time I had been playing Earthbound on this SNES emulator and had gotten to the part where you have to go into the desert and had went into that cave or whatever not saving the game before hand and so realizing this I decided to save to the emulator I don't know what happened but I couldn't save the game and if I remember correctly I had to close the emulator so I closed it and restarted and I found all my saved data in the game and on the emulator gone:bang:.

Luckily, the developers of Sam & Max left Lucasarts and formed their own company, so we still might get it.

But… The future doesn't look bright for the Monkey Island series. :dry:

When my PS would barely work. I had to restart it about 10 times before it actually read the games. The same thing used to happen with my PS2. It would say "Disc read error" more than half the time. I'm so glad I got it repaired.

Oh ya, that reminds me. When I was younger and PSX was still new, I saved my own money to buy one. I've always taken great care of my consoles and games. Last year, I lent my dear PSX to a casual friend, and the jack ass returned it broken. (plastic around lens was cracked…) I didn't know right away though, and I stopped being friends with him before I found out my PSX was broke. Moral of story: don't be nice to people.

yeah thats great but the problem is that i need the one thats compatible with the Bergsala version(the ones that released the Nes in sweden)and i sadly enough cant just use any adapter for instance the americans ones that you supplied.

and ive searched the swedish equivlent of ebay tradera and blocket and found nothing so far and ive already tried using a Snes adapter and that didnt work.

Well for me it was with Gran Turismo 1 and 2 on PSX. Well when you play simulation mode you have to take license and the hardest in GT1 was A International where you have high speed cars and you have to complete a lap of really long tracks without hitting anything and without leaving the track. The worst moment was when I was playing for A-1 and many times close to the finish of the lap when I hit the wall or time runs out. Those were really the worst moments. all my friends gave up but I tried and tried and finally ways able to get that too:steve: and then braged about it:XD:

I guess for me it was the time when :

1-My sister "lost" my copy of Banjo-Tooie
2-My uncle permenantly borrowed my N64 along with my copy of Banjo-Kazooie

All of this somewhat at the same time.

Then there's the fact that every time I play an rpg my data gets overwritten in everyway possible.

Also, this time it's not my bad experience but still.
My friend somehow has a curse on him and everytime he tries to finish a game (mostly rpgs) something bad happens. His FF6 emulator dies, his FF7 memory gets deleted, the FF8 disc I lend him somehow end up dying and Splinter cell freezes at the very last mission.

Poor guy can't get anyone to lend him an rpg. Unless he doesn't play to finish it.

Uncovering the "plot" of Dark Chronicle, and discovering that this game too fits more in the category of "Dungeon crawler" than rpg.

Worse than Ultimecia's loop? Necron? Could be, might not be. It's all up to preference (and for the record, I enjoyed VIII about as much as VII).

As for worst moments… Dunno. Probably whenever my SNES doesn't work for whatever reason.

I was playing Dragon Quest III at the time in my Game Boy when I was 10.

I made so much progress and I was afraid it would be lost since at my age then, I sucked at RPGs.

One day my 4-year-old cousin Jason, played it and deleted it on purpose just so he can play.

I cried so much at the time. (I couldn't help it, I was a kid back then)

It took me 4 days before I can even bother forgiving him…

I still have it, but the worst part is, its curropted :sad: .

At my current age, I have the potential to start over and try to finish it, but the only problem is that game is 5 years old and it look like it got damaged a lot when I was 8, my age when I bought the game, because sometimes I dropped my old Gameboy in teh floor in my room at the Philippines...

know how you feel I was mad as all hell when my uncle lent one of his friends my PS2 which the next day mysteriously/questionably wound up broke and was never returned along with my memory card & two controllers.
