ok when the forum charshes its really annoying. Is it possible for the mods to make a subforum for new chapters and to members only. I'm tried of these lukers that make the forum chrash. I'd think itd be a good idea though im just throwing it out there.
(sorry its just annoying every thursday when the forum chrashes due to lurkers, or so ive heard anyway.)
What if someone did a mass e-mail for all the people who are interested in seeing the next chapter. All one would need is the file, a list of e-mails and a bit of free time. This way no one has to worry about all the random people coming to the forums and crashing it.
I wouldn't mind taking a bit of time out of my day to help a fellow fan out. It's just a suggetion. :)
We may have a possible overall fix coming on the way this weekend. Stay tuned.

I was just about to post a thread about it. It was really annoying not beeing able to load the forums. I mean this time it wasn´t even about the chapter itself but about the spoilers.
I really hope something could be done about this.
Make AP a members only forum, plus have a monthly cap on new account approvals. So we don't have 200 or so people sign up overnight just to sit idle.
Guests can go suck a **** and get chapter related stuff off the front page. :glare:
I wanted to post a topic about this so bad yesterday cause of the forum downtime, alot of people are starting to make you register just to view the forum and now people are starting to once everyweek delete accounts with zero posts.
I have trouble living without AP forums so I hope this gets fixed.

That might be a biiit much. I lurked for awhile before I joined.
Though almost ALWAYS having more guests than users on is rather annoying >.> I second having a mambers-ownly thread for new spoilers/actual chapters.
Though wouldn't the sub-forum be on the same server as the normal forum? Guests will still congregate in large numbers when Thursday rolls around, regardless if they can access this sub-forum or not, and if the server gets overwhelmed both the normal & members forums would go down.
I think if it were that simple, it probably would've or… at least should've been done a long time ago.

I want to encourage new users/lurkers because all lurkers are possible future members. So because of that, we are working towards a solution that will allow us to keep these forums as open as possible without the downtime. So look forward to our fix this weekend.
Well, here's hoping the fix makes all the difference, 'cause the next few weeks are going to be an onslaught of traffic.

It probably wouldn't hurt to prune some of the accounts that are already here. According to the stats, this board has over 3500 members, 732 of which are active.

That "active members" number changes quite often. One day I saw 666, next day I saw it was in early 600s, now 732.
Well, now that forum is supposed to be crash-proof, I don't see any harm for having extra members (other than space)… o.o
pruned anyway, I figured if a user hasn't been on in 120 days, they won't be coming back, or atleast not in the near future.
and the active members is based on who has logged in, in the past 30 days, so it's actually a decent representation of who we have coming on…I guess o.o

I was a lurker here for.. a year? I lurked the main site for that long, at least. So uh, yeah. This point definitely has merit. And hopefully things are fixed now.
we should have something like we make a list of people who want the new chapter or translation or something and someone can email them a link to the ch. or whatnot
or he could host a site where we all use one username and get it off there or something
idk am just trying to give something out to help everyone.
