Should I or shouldn't I?

Apparently Funimation is looking for volunteers to help run their booth at cons.

Now I am an extremely knowledgable anime fan, and I know a ton about nearly all of Funi's titles. However the only cons I would be able to help at are Anime Boston and Otakon. And I'm not sure if I really want to do it. I don't mind standing for 3 hours (I've had worse), but how long do they expect you to stay at the booth? I have things to do at cons.

However you do get benefits, such as free stuff and not having to wait in line at registration (they get your badge for you).

So what do you guys think, should I apply?

Go for it, Satsuki! I think that it's a small price to pay for getting into a con without having to register, and plus, FREE STUFF. Seriously, free stuff rules. XD

And I'm sure you'll have time to do other stuff, yes?

Last guy I knew who volunteered at an anime con eventually got to chauffeur goddamn Range Murata around AX.

Volunteering is awesome! I've been doing it for Gaming conventions and its really fun.

Just as long as you don't end up having to spend all your time working and you actually get a chance to enjoy the con then go for it! And swag is always good!

Almost every con I voluteered for monopolized a great deal of my time there, San Diego Comic Con especially wants you to work (They expected 4 - 6 hours of work, minimum each day). Granted, I was working for the convention itself, Funi might not be that bad.

I did usually have fun though =)

Thanks for your support guys. I will probably do it if I can find out just how much time would be required of me. 3 hour shifts are fine . . . . but not if I have 2-3 shifts a day . . . .

The only catch is that I'm currently in Japan. Do I just give them my home address and pray my Dad gets the mail for me? Or do I give them my Japan address/phone and force them to mail/call overseas?

Thats a tough one, being in Japan might throw them off a tad. I say give them your home address and let your Dad know.
