I am connected to the internet both through a wireless network (which doesn't always connect) and a cable network, both provided by my school. I am able to download .exe, audio, video, and documents through the internet, but not torrent files. When I put bittorrent up and try to download an episode, no progress is made despite the fact that I've disabled my firewall (I tried the exceptions list, no luck). Any suggestions?
Bittorrent and Firewall

You've got an hardwired router firewall, installed by most communication companies now under the guise of "protection", but it's really there to discourage (and inhibit) usage of torrents or IRC; this also has the negative affect of stopping any sort of IP, IPX, Modem or Network multiplayer sessions. None of us at AP can really help you; you've got to phone up your ISP and ask them how to fully open your internet channels. If they're "disinclined" to reveal that information, as in my case, your will not be able to use those protocols outside of reverting back to a 56K modem. Ever.

So THAT'S the problem… Thanks for letting me know. :)
Well, it looks like I can only try one thing from this point. How do I get my ISP's number?

When you get your internet they give you a booklet and it gives you all the info needed to hook up to the internet(including your ISP number).
