A couple of months ago, I downloaded a zip file of all the mp3s from the FF7:AC soundtrack. I moved this folder onto my laptop (which has no internet connection or virus protection), and I had trouble playing 1 file. I couldn't play it or delete it, so I just shrugged and ignored it. Now, there are 5 or 6 mp3 files from that folder (that were working fine before) I can't play or delete! Is this because of a virus? I have the mp3 folder on this computer, and they play fine. I hope somebody can give me an inkling of what's going on, and even tell me how to fix it. Thanks.

if they are playing fine one Your computer then its probabily not A Virus.
They somehow at some Point got Corrupt is my oppinon. I had a Few DBZ movies and a Few Trigun Eps do that to me. they wouldn't play and I couldnt delete them. they're harmless though -
when you try to run or delete them, it says it's used by another software?
-
igalsfy- When I try to run them nothing happens, when I try to delete them it says the file can't be found or something like that.
Demon Rin- Thanks for that, I'm glad that my problem is most likely harmless. I'll still try to get rid of them somehow, though.

so it's most likely harmless. but definitely strange.
maybe could you try to make a search on your computer, if the files were sent in some temp folder or i don't know why??
or you could try and run them via the ms-dos cmd window? at least, if you want to get rid of them, you could forcefully delete them via this msdos window i think.

Hard drive corruption? Or that's what happened to me when I couldn't delete some certain file.
I'd do same thing as igalsfy to delete (don't know if that's possible?) and never touch that folder o.o… Also run disk defrag? (Does that do anything?)

Try restarting your computer and then delete those files or the folder right away before you do anything else. Or you can try moving them on to the desktop for easy access, so you can delete them after you've restarted your computer. I've had folders before that I couldn't delete, and I had to restart my computer before I can delete them. I don't know if it'll work for you, but you can give it a try. Also, I think it's worth mentioning just in case, but sometimes, before or after I've deleted a file, I get a message that says something like "IE has stopped responding. End the program" shit like that. Well it's not a virus but it's annoying. So I recommend you do what the others suggest first, before you try mine.

Hey guys, thanks for all your advice, I managed to get the files deleted by various strange ways (maybe I should consider a job in tech support, though my methods are unconventional to say the least). I hope I don't wake up tomorrow to find my entire hard drive wiped out or anything like that.
