Food work franky xD
(first post =p)
My god, poor robin. Everyone sacrificed themselves for her, just for her to live. Simply breaks my heart. Dammit, I feel bad for her. I hope CP9 gets an ass-whooping after the flashback. Its worse then Chopper's and Nami's.
-
well 3 weeks of waiting is finally over, thanks alot

But heck, I'd pay for a translation right now ;P -
Wow. ._. Yeah, waterworks are definitely going to be in the picture for me, I can tell. Thanks so much, Battle Franky!
-
Wow…. Saul is fuckign awesome.
He takes A CANNONBALL TO THE FACE and then goes on to lift up a gigantic marine ship. WOW!
And... he looked awesome in his Marine getup. :D I wonder what Sengoku had to say to him... From what I could tell, Saul was pretty opposed to the idea of the Buster Call.
-
It's finally there!! Thank you BF!!!
-
Woohoo. and hopefully the forum wild hold without to many Errors:mellow:

-
I didn't see any spoilers!!! but.. Finally!!!!!!!
THANKS A LOT BF!!
-
Saul just caught up with Hilrulk as one of my favorite flashback characters, Oliva too.
I can not wait for a translationThank you Battle Franky
-
Hah! Super chapter!
I'd say 1 more full chapter of flashback before the chapter that it ends in (at the most)
btw: Is it sauro or saul? 0.0?
Most probable to be Saul considering that's an actual name
-
woooow! i bet it was Sauro who destroyed the eight marine ships, not Robin.
-
@Melee128:

It could be… <_<
Kinai.
-
@Melee128:
woooow! i bet it was Sauro who destroyed the eight marine ships, not Robin.
well, i bet saul will die in next chapter and robin will turn berserk, using her DF abilities to the fullest and really destroy these battleships
-
well now
this is intersting
if its sauro who destroyed the marine ships,
then the one the marines would consider dangerous should be those who can somewhat "manipulate" giants to do their dirty job for them…
in this case, sogeking should have an 80m bounty as well
;p -
Eh? Going bererk is way too Cutty Flam and I can't picture an eight year old sinking ships with a bunch of hands 0.o
..i thought that was crazy ever since Smoker explained Robin's bounty in Alabasta
-
Thanks a bunch for the new chapter Battle Franky. It´s awesome and it raised lots of new questions but I´ll reserve them for when we have a translation. =)
-

-
Thank you very much Battle Franky!!
Wa, an Olvia-Robin sweet moment. And Sauro protects her… It's just too good ^^
I can't wait for a translation. -
i hope sauro is not dead in this flash back … he is a good man ...
Well, people tend to die in One Piece's Flashback. :glare:
Kinai.
P.S: Ocean, translation, please, pretty please… <3
-
Wow… great chapter.
So, I don't really have the time to translate, but here's the rundown.
Title page: Miss Valentine, Mr. 5, and Miss Goldenweek approach a Navy Detention Center in their commandeered ships.
Chapter:
There's chaos on the island. While the people are taken by surprise, so are the Naval forces on the island, and they make a hasty retreat. Spandine does likewise, after telling one of his lieutenants to take note of the child who claimed to be an archaeologist, follow her, and make sure she didn't leave the island. Meanwhile, Dr. Clover laments the loss of the history stored within the burning Tree of Knowledge, that the scholars are desperately (and ineffectively) trying to put out. While all this is going on, Robin takes her mother's hand, and embraces her, explaining that it's something she's always wanted to do. Olvia and Robin share a mother-daughter moment, while Clover apologizes for his role in marking Robin for destruction. Olvia also apologizes to her daughter, and tells her that she's truly impressed by her abilities and perseverance. Clover, at seeing this, tells them both to flee the island.
At this moment, however, Saul makes his appearance, and is happy to see that Robin has been reunited with her mother. But Olvia, who knows Saul, demands to know how he got to Ohara. Saul explains that he was washed up on shore there and Robin had befriended him. At this, Olvia entrusts him with her daughter and tells him to to get Robin off the island, as she still has things to do. Robin doesn't want to be separated, and tells Olvia so, but Olvia has made up her mind. She tells Robin that if Ohara is destroyed, then she must be the one to carry on, for the future's sake. Robin tearfully sobs that she doesn't understand, but Olvia reassures her that she will... someday. At this, she tells Saul to go, and he scoops up Robin against her protestations. Olvia thinks to herself that she was happy to be called "Mom," and shouts her last words to her daughter: "STAY ALIVE, ROBIN!!!" Olvia breaks down in tears.
On Kuzan (Aokiji)'s ship, it's discovered that VICE ADMIRAL Saul is on the island. This causes such a shock that the story turns into a flashback-within-a-flashback. As it turns out, Saul's ship was the one to attack the archaeological expedition's, though he obviously feels that the level of force being used is too great, telling his men that they don't have to kill anyone, despite the crew's objections. He is told that only one person survived, as Olvia is brought on board. she shouts at the vice-admiral, telling him that they weren't criminals.
Later (still earlier than the beginning of Robin's flashback), Saul is dismayed to find out, from Sengoku, that there is to be a Buster Call carried out on Ohara. Not only that, but he is to be the Vice-Admiral to lead the assault. Saul argues with him, saying that they are mere scholars, who only want to know about history. Sengoku tells him that they are absolute evil, and asks him if he really wants to betray the government. …Saul approaches Olvia's cell, and tells her he has something to say to her. ...Soon afterward, Saul is spotted leaving the base with Olvia. Men are ordered after him, but they escape on a battleship (the same one Olvia arrives in, presumably). Olvia wants to know why he helped her, since he can't go back to the Navy. Saul tells her that he doesn't have faith in the Navy, so he's not going to stay with them any longer. Though it might be following the law, the next operation was too tyrannical, and went against his own sense of justice. Olvia tells him that she won't say thanks, but Saul just laughs and says that he'll be praying for good luck.
Jumping back to Robin's flashback, Saul is running from cannon fire with Robin cradled in his hands. Robin wants him to go back, but he refuses, saying that the island and her mother were both right: she needs to survive so she can tell the world its history, because Ohara fought against the world to do it. He is hit in the face by artillery, but despite his wounds, is conscious enough to attack the Navy ship shelling them in order to keep Robin safe. Robin shouts for him to stop, but Saul angrily challenges the vessel, declaring that if they're going to turn him into an enemy, he won't give up without a fight.

thx a lot SaiyaJedi, you did a great job on it!

I'm quickly coming to love Sauro nearly as much as Tom. He's awesome.
Even without the trans this chapter is a tear-jerker. I'm afraid to watch it animated. It's going to be so painful.
And yeah, Robin's flashback is rough.I have a feeling Saul will destroy the ships at the cost of his own life.
I'm worried that in the near future we could see something similar.
I don't like trying to guess ahead because I'm almost always wrong (Oda is always good for surprises) but I'm hoping we don't see a buster call on Impel Down leading to a certain ship throwing badass (who I still hope isn't dead) tackling it head on so everybody else can escape. It would be a perfect echo of what is going on now.Maybe we'll be lucky and Oda will be true to form and Sauro will survive and be imprisoned in Impel Down. One more reason to go there and I doubt Oda would hang such a concept in front of us and not deliver it in some fashion. Plus the concept of Sauro & Tom fighting off a Buster Call together just makes my head spin.
Meh, enough insane speculation.
Page 5….. beautiful.
Gotta put this away now. Got work to do and sitting at my desk tearing-up over manga will probably be frowned upon by management.
EDIT
Thanks SaiyaJedi! -

My personal feeling is that she just loses all control after the death of both her mother and her only friend, resulting in all hell breaking loose without Robin even really being aware of what she's doing. Let's not forget that as an adult, Robin could easily counter almost anyone just by sprouting arms from their back and snapping their neck. She only chooses not to do this on a regular (or large-scale) basis.
But then again, I rather like the idea of Saul being responsible for the majority of the damage (poetic justice, since they tried to make him go against his own morality and do the unthinkable), and Robin managing to escape in the confusion and being stuck with the blame in order to get her captured.
But I guess we'll find out within the next couple of weeks, won't we? …
-
FINALLY! <3
(sorry for that outburst. But y'all agree with me =) )
EDIT: Awesome-o chapter. Especially the last page. So is Saul Luffy's Grandfather? It seems to be turning out that way.
-
Yeah and verily we waited long for this chapter. And when it arrived it was good.
Saul being a vice-admrial… Didn't see that coming. Makes perfect sense though. And I gotta admit Robin and Olivia moved me to tears.
-
Page 5 looks incredible. I can't wait to get a translation later. Thanks, BF.

Err,…why? Was something like that said in the chapter? :molly:
-
Well I think somebody speculated about him before about being a marine, but the major giveaway here is that he and Aokiji know each other. And Aokiji was the one who mentioned it to Luffy.
-
Which means Luffy is part giant…which, in turn means that there was a giant-human crossbreed.
Does anyone else get really disturbed at the thought of how a giant human crossbreed would be created? I can't help but get images like what happens when you overfill a waterballoon....
POP!
-
Indeed, this does seem like Sauro is Luffy's grandfather. All of this do fit with the "what a troublesome family" line of Aokiji, since Sauro betrayed the Government. Plus, if Aokiji defeats Sauro and gets promoved to Admiral because of that, won't Aokiji have a debt to Sauro in a way?
-
Thank you so much for finding & hosting the chapter BattleFranky
It really made my day.Robin's sad & touching flashback continues. It's been a while since we see a touching flashback. Sauro being a Marine was a real shocker, his looks & body didn;t support it
My god, poor robin. Everyone sacrificed themselves for her, just for her to live. Simply breaks my heart. Dammit, I feel bad for her. I hope CP9 gets an ass-whooping after the flashback. Its worse then Chopper's and Nami's.
thelousy made an interesting comment. So many people sacrificed their life just so that Robin can live in her past. This may explain Robin's continuous resistance in accepting Luffy's help. She didn't want to see people who care for her to sacrifice their life for her ever again.
-
Okay.. just a theorie.. but I think that Robin won't do any damage.. Sauro will be the one who destroys the 5 ships.. but why is it told that Robin destroyed them? Simple.. but it's WG-style.. Imagine the WG would blame Sauro for destroying all this ships.. an FORMER VICE ADMIRAL.. the whole world would ask questions, which the WG would not want to answer.. and they would have a reason to hunt a little girl.. just because she's "dangerous", because of the capability and strengh with which she destroyed this ships.. and nobody would know anything about the Ohara, and the history.. and this is the perfect way for the WG to hide everything behind.. a little.. "8 year-old lie " ;-)

Well not we just ahve to wait for the favor to happen and it's official:laugh:

He takes A CANNONBALL TO THE FACE and then goes on to lift up a gigantic marine ship. WOW!
Yea, I think Saul is cool now.
I take it you, like I, shouted "HOLY SHIT!" when he took that cannonball?
Who else is on the "Saul is badass!" bandwagon?
