So Ive seen poster Keroros sig. I saw it rank in the top 100 favorite animated series of Japan for last year. And then there was today.

I went to Akihabara because I have to write an article for Beckett about popular animated progs in Japan now. So when you need a grotesque amount of animated jargon to for picture fodder, where else than Akihabara?

So I`m wandering around and ALL I SEE IS KERORO!!!!

In novelty stores, GachaGacha, UFO Catchers, Animate, posters, walls, floors, etc.

The hell? Who is this series popular with? Otaku? If not then why isnt it everywhere else around? Its literally plastering the district.

No matter where you go, there you are.

As far as I know, it's because the anime is (apparently) one big Gundam homage. As someone who has only read the manga and seen the OPs and EDs on Google Video, I can only guess from the abundance of screenshots like this one.

        Idolizing Char also helps.

        PS Kururu is awesome.

PS 2 The first movie is coming out soon, too.

It's called a Densha Otoko syndrome.

Keroro's awesome, I've been reading Tokyopop's translations of it. A really enjoyable series.

I wouldn't call the whole series a big Gundam homage, but Keroro's big hobby is building Gundam models.

Keroro's pretty cool. I just got into the anime a few days ago. And the manga has a whole lot of fanservice…

Ditto. Also, they reference other anime besides the Gundams, like Ranma 1/2.

…Really? I've seen much worse. Heck, Azumanga Daioh seemed worse to me.

Since the main character of Densha Otoko, a very popular novel/manga/drama/stage play/movie, loved Keroro, people who watched it also become fan of it.
