So what are y'all playing? Just jot down the name & some quick impressions or a progress update:

Currently Playing - Castlevania: Lament of Innocence (PS2, Konami): Got my PStwo back on Monday & bought this game off a friend for $20 bucks. First impressions, the camera system is awkward & aggravating, I constantly found myself having no sense of direction, due to the lack of variety in the enviroments & bad camera angles.

Basically the first part of the castle contains three different rooms, used over & over, a cathedral room, library & a long archway so you can become a bit lost. The combat seems slow & uninspired to start, but further on you'll collect orbs which enhance your secondary weapons (blades, axe, holy water, ect) & the combat become more frantic & you'll also upgrade your abilities, so you can pull of some slick chain combos on ghouls & vampires.

Music rocks, I love the Symphony of the Nights score, & all the music so far is well composed & very eery in parts & fast paced electronic in others. I've cleared about 40% in little under 4 hours, so it feels sort of short so far, I'm currently in the Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab, just about to fight the boss.

Famicom Detective Club 2: The Girl in Back. This is such a cool game. The plot and characters are extremely well-done, and I love the music. And it has Ayumi Tachibana, who most people here in the U.S. only know from her trophy in SSBM.

I start playing Ancient Domains of Mystery again but like always I will probably lose my interest once I succeed in killing off my character. It's a roguelike game, meaning there're punch of letters fighting against each others but hey, it's free and it has more depth than most of the commercial games.

Playing Resident Evil 4:

I finally did it, I got 200k with Wesker on the Castle stage. It's wasn't that hard, you've just gotta manage you sniper & magnum ammo closely & basically know spawning spots of your enemies.

Plus the crazy knives guys are easy to clean up, with a magnum shot to the body & then to parasite growth thingy.

HOLY SHIT!

Started playing Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater again tonight. Anyways, I picked up from I left off a while ago, during The End's boss battle. After about 30 minutes of fighting him, I'll was pretty well beat, not much stamina, no good food & my medical supplies have been low since the caves.

Anyways, he had one or two shots left in him, & just by chance I spotted his parrot in some random tree. I shot, ate it, recovered all my lost stamina & ended up picking him off, while he was still mourning for his beloved parrot.

I've never had so much fun in a boss battle, ever! I was laughing my arse off for ages. This game is so freakin' good, I love it. :lol: :lol: :lol:

It's fun, I've been levelling up and seriously beefing up my guys.

Awh, man. The cutscene when you first meet up with Sokolov in Groznyj Grad, followed by the Volgin torture scene, is probably the most captivating 10 minutes in a videogame ever.

Fuck~! I had to create another save file, so I could just watch that again, urgh so brutal. Plus, 'The Fury' fight was another excellent example of just how great the boss battles are in this game.

Haha, I couldn't believe how dense I was in regards to 'The Sorrow' battle, it took me two tries & a trip to gamefaqs to work it out. :wacko: Anyways, I've laid all the C3 & I'm now trying to defeat Volgin, he's actually tougher than any of the Cobra unit, so far & his bullet attack is a pain in the arse, also CQC is impossible to use, because he's nearly always electrified.

Plus the fight is sectioned off into two parts, so if you die in the second half, the fight starts again. (I hate that)

Prince Of Persia (PS2) Last thing i remember doing is going through that zoo place, and then through the obstacle course after that.

Hmmmm, I remember CQC being the ONLY way i could beat him. I had to beat him twice though because my stupid game froze. I believe there were times when you were supposed to rush in and CQC him when he wasnt electrified. Plus you get the soldier camouflage.

Haha, yeh it was another baka moment. You can't attack him with any weapon equipped, his electricity is attracted to the bullets, & wipes your clip out if you're hit by those shock attacks. Once that sunk in, CQC was surpisingly easy, when he wasn't electrified, I beat him in a few minutes with minimal damage.

The Shagahod chase scene out of Groznyj Grad, was simply jaw dropping, so amazing! I was just watching half the time, taking in the scenery, while Eva just took damage. The Shagahod fight itself was also pretty good, perhaps the easiest Metal Gear fight yet, but still very entertaining.
The chase through the forest & keeping Eva alive in the jungle, was a bit of a pain, because I was super low on rations & basically I just kept feeding her mushrooms and a few frogs & birds.

Finally, 'the Boss' fight was just such a fitting end to the game, I enjoyed that fight so much, words can't describe. Anyways, the ending had so many twists & turns, especially with Eva & of course, the dorky young Ocelot.

Actually, you can just unequip a weapon when he is ready to shock you and re-equip it when he is done attacking. I managed to beat him using a shotgun in the first time I played, and the EZ gun the second time I played. Also I hear that if you interogate Raikov, he will reveal ways to help even the odds against Volgin, like using those glowing mushrooms that recharge your batteries when eaten.
