HA HA HA T4KE THAT 4KID$$$$$$
You tell it, Carter! Take that, Kahn!
Hmm so it seems they lost there biggest series. Tho if they do dub the next season will they have the same va's.
While I love seeing 4kids cringe in agony, this was their only good show that wasnt canceled (Funky Cops).
In yo face 4Kids!!! Hooray for Poke'mon USA!!!
4kids own funky cops?
i guess this is the end of 4kids and nintendos realtionship
nintendo deserves a merry chrismas damn it!!
HA HA.
It's a shame that the series will still suck though.

For me, it was about half-way through the Johto arc. Nevertheless, Now there is means that we have a really good chance of there being an official bilingual release of the first few seasons!
Also, out of all of the properties that 4kids has, Pokemon was the only one that gave them real success and now thats gone, (Next to Yu-Gi-Oh, which is not only cooling down in popularity, but is about to finish the final arc of the show.)
Slowly but surely, 4kids is dying!
once again i will be the only one that isn't a follower of 4kids to stand up for it. it has brought america things that bring people enjoyment. i was introduced to one piece thanks to 4kids. maybe no one else would have brought it over. and 4kids isn't really THAT bad, sure they have bad shows but the followers of 4kids deserve to have it. how would you like it if out of no where your favorite compony, or series just got elminated along with your favorite shows. it would suck wouldn't it. well just think about that before you rejoice if 4kids goes away.

its not an age thing for the most part. its true as you grow your taste changes but some people are into that thing. alot of older people are probably still pokemon freaks. its true i have lost interest in alot of the shows i watched when i was younger but, show me the first season of digimon and i will gladly watch it.
Me and all of my roomates got back into a pokemon playin gkick this past semester.
So it's finally been nixed, eh? It was actually a decent dub, all things considered.
They axed pokemon!? That's terrible, it was their one good show!
I wonder if Pokemon USA will continue dubbing.
Pity I still like Pokemon.
its gonna be the same voices fom what i hear and yes pokemon still makes money
this is more of a blow to 4kids so lets be happy about that
Truthfully, I thought that 4Kids did a decent job with Pokemon, as Dude said.
Hm, I wonder why it happened, though? Gives a little hope that the same thing might happen with One Piece. ^^
PS - I liked Funky Cops. I have no idea what 4Kids were doing with that show, it didn't seem like something they'd be after.
I wouldn't mind if a production company suddenly dropped the license for an anime since a lot of the animes that get licensed tend to be manhandled
either that or I just don't like the anime in particular.

I Still Love It And I'm 17 XD
IT´S TIME TO PAR-TAY!!
If pokemon had a good company, it could have been a better show..
It has taken me GOSH DARN FOREVER to get to this topic. Jeez, dang downtime…
...
I ask of you, fellow AP members; what's the big deal? 4Kids' license RAN OUT, and was not renewed...they didn't "lose" it. Pokemon and YGO were such tremedous hits that 4Kids was able to amass enough corporate size and influence to snatch away OP from Viz and Funi...bah, but I digress.
4Kids is a major shareholder in Pokemon USA; if they held such a small amount to be non-influential, why mention any shares held by the company as a whole at all? If anything, 4Kids will lose a substantial, though not crippling, amount of revenue. Big deal; they're still going to profit from Pokemon, and since they are partial owners of Pokemon USA, they'll pull strings such that Pokemon USA will need to rely on 4Kids for maintaining the Anime anyway.
It's just a formality, really.
I agree with Mantilex. 4Kids has milked the franchise for all its worth. If they wanted to retain the license they could have easily have kept it. I don't think its good business to keep Pokemon anymore.

You misunderstand, though only a bit.
Pokemon was a marketing phenomenon when it came out, greater than any Shounen title, even Dragonball. The extensions of the video game, such as the TCG and the Anime, only served Nintendo's purpose to further interest in the series; unlike a manga-based show, Nintendo controlled everything.
Back then, in '98, Disney had control of Pokemon (Buena Vista), but it exploded under their arses and was stolen away by Warner, who in turn gave it to a "nobody" company at the time, 4Kids.
Pokemon was the life-giving central root that shaped the tree that is 4Kids; ripping out that root will caused harm, no matter how useless it may be. In this case, Pokemon still rakes in massive profits, just not surreal, record-braking massive profits.
What I was saying was that 4Kids has done enough damage by having the influence of phenomenon like YGO and Pokemon on their side; sure, they're going to lose one of their shows to a series conclusion, and the other to corporate politics (though not entirely), but they had enough momentum to snag the most popular series since Dragonball from under the noses of Viz, ShoPro, Funi, and Geneon.
4Kids losing Pokemon is a good thing, yes, but nothing too major, as 4Kids will forever have a large influence in Pokemon affairs, and they've outgrown a need for Pokemon as a "lifeline". Sure, stock prices could be better, but 4Kids is hardly crippled by losing the franchise that made them.
Hahaha. 4Kids lost the show that made them big. Now if 4Kids.Tv could just…die...the world would be at peace.
If only this had happenned for One Piece.
In all truths- I don't think 4kids did that bad a job for dubbing Pokemon. I always found it to be the only decent thing they did dub. But i still watch Pokemon, dunno why- i just like it for some reason.
Yugioh is already over almost anyway.
Before everyone do the endzone dance over the possible demise of 4Kids read this article and then follow the link (Business Wire) There they go into full detail about this whole situation.
Thanks, OP Man. I guess I was not the only one here with some degree of clarity. -.-

No problem. I believe in the truth no matter where it leads. I'm not obsessed with the demise of 4Kids

I can't but think the same. Although, for me, it's one and the same whether such company as 4Kids even exists.
