This is bordering obssession I swear. I've never been so fanboyed with a character, even in anime.
Free drinks for whoever shouts out his name! XD

my very low encounter with superheroes can only lead me to one man
THE HURRICANE!
Wonderful, CaptainAWB1! You get my specially brewed, complete with plastic disposable cup, luke warm H2O! XD
Lol 1, 2, Jango, I'm not very exposed to the superhero world either. It's just that this guy, can you believe his freaking costume? It's. So. Cool.
Free drinks! Thank you!
And my favorite superhero:
Free home-cooked Ox Nards to whoever shouts his name.
I dunno what an "Ox Nard" is but I remember The Tick. Had a cool show.
I like Spider-Man. I think he has the best powers and personality. Though, he's a pretty big dork. I don't read comics much so I dunno how he is now that he's a 30 year old husband or whatever. I really liked Hulk until I got to all the Banner stuff.
Others: Wolverine (pre-samurai days), Gambit, and Captain America.

I loved the live-action version, but I want to see the cartoon on DVD.
Don't know what an Ox Nard is? It's a special home-made dish I make. I'll give you one guess to figure out what it's made of.

I like him, too. He still has problems with his life, only more servere than what he dealt with in his high school days.
To be honest, a lot of my time with these heroes is from videogames, like the Vs. series. Spidey, Cyclops, Gambit, and Cap are just nasty.
Oh! Colossus too. But I suck with him. I'm pretty annoyed Marvel made him gay. No problem with a gay superhero, but don't change a straight one like that. He dated Shadowcat, dammit.
That's another thing. I'd like superheroes a lot more if they didn't just end up in someone else's hands every month or so. It bones the little development they even had.

He's gay? You learn something new everyday…
That just happend recently. Marvel's just doing that to get attention. I don't think they really needed to. I mean, they just brought him back from the dead. I think that's enough attention for Colossus.
Colossus is also one of my favorite superheroes.
i don't see the need for anyone to have a 'favourite' superhero seeing as superheroes are just for little kiddies anyway
@Tybalt:

Seems your mind is stuck in the 60's.
Are you just talking about the concept of superheroes? Well, then I won't disagree with you on that. Superheroes were originally created for children. But now people want to see superheroes be more than kid's faire. Most of them been been changed to suit a more mature feeling.

Yes, but then again I've never really liked the Idea of big muscly men going around wearing tight spandex, that's just creepy
I agree. That can really creep me out at times.
Then there are superheroes who don't wear spandex, nor are they very muscular. The Question comes to mind.

although there are some really hot female ones
Shit, I was just thinking about this recently. I'm not sure if I have a favorite favorite, but there's a lot a really like. I don't read comics a lot, so my experience with some of these guys is mostly through video games (like the VS series) and cartoons.
Batman is probably one of my favorites. I think it's because I always had a fascination with detectives, and I liked how he kicked ass with no super powers (pretty much the inverse of Superman; god I hate him). I mostly know him through his bafass cartoon. Another thing I liked about him, this will sound odd, but his villains were really interesting and fun. Especially the Joker, who's probably my alltime favorite villain.
I suppose Tick and Freakazoid! count. Well, they starred in two of my favorite saturday morning cartoons, both very witty and entertaining. It's so sad they got canned somewhat quickly.
Green Arrow gets points for being a raving liberal. I kinda like the idea of a rich man turning into Robin Hood figure. Plus, he was pretty badass in Justice League Unlimited.
Plastic Man is one of the few of my favorites I don't know through cartoons. I know him mostly through reading about him and flipping through some comics. He has some pretty awesome powers, and is hilarious. I was really disappointed they never used him in the JLU cartoon; hell, they even mentioned him once but he was never on screen. He'd be much better comic relief than Flash.
I never really liked the X-men too much. I mean, I did, but the only individual I really liked was Beast. Of course I liked Wolverine, but he doesn't count because everyone likes him.
Iron Man was pretty cool too.
That's all I can think of for now.
My favorite mainstream superhero has always been Batman. But I like some of the lesser known ones like The Ray and stuff. And I think the Question is cool too…and kind of interesting because of Steve Ditko's objectivism stuff.
And yeah, like The Dude said, Colossus is only gay in the Ultimate Marvel universe, not the regular one.
From the DC universe, I only like four heroes, Batman, Green Lantern, the Question and Green Arrow. Green Lantern's power ring was a pretty awesome thing to use to kick some ass, though back in the Superfriends days, his weakness was the color yellow. Pretty lame, so he's at the bottom of the list.
Green Arrow is badass, espically in Justice League Unlimited. But you just can't beat the Bats (unless we are talking about Joel Schumacher's Batman complete with his trusty bat nipples). The complete opposite of Superman, who is just a superpowered asshole who smashes through walls, beats the shit out of the villian of the day, flies out and dicks around with his friends. Batman used his brain, Bat-gadgets, and the environment against his villians. Plus, the Riddler was cool and you just can't beat Adam West as Batman back in 60s and Mark Hamil as the Joker in the cartoon.
The Question comes close though, due to how I liked his character in Justice Leauge:Unlimited. Conspiracy Theorists rock.
As for Marvel, I love the Punisher, Spiderman, The Hulk, The Thing, you know, heroes that actually have problems other than "Oh shit, I gotta keep my idenity secret even though I could just flying around in my tight spandex and not wear only glasses and a hat to disguise myself amongst the humans."
I'm looking at you, Superdick.
Unoffical heroes? The Tick, Lobo, and Freakazoid. 'Nuff said.
EDIT: Wait, does Lobo belong to DC Comics? If so, put him up there with the other DC Comic heroes I like.
I never liked the Thing because I first saw him back out of a fight with the Hulk. Freakazoid was awesome, too.
And Tybalt, I dunno how you complain about superheroes being immature when you have a reference to Naruto as your custom title.
My favorite:
And I actually heard they're re-releasing some of his comics! Which is so totally awsome~ They're also going to do a Spirit/Batman crossover but I don't know how it will be with out Eisner behind it.
After that, Rouge and Gambit are my favorite definitally~
And Tybalt, I dunno how you complain about superheroes being immature when you have a reference to Naruto as your custom title.
SNIZZAP.
Oh yeah, Lobo was awesome as hell too. And Punisher was alright (I'm amused at how he wanted to be a priest, but found himself incapable of forgiving people). I also liked Venom, but he doesn't really count.
Green Lantern
Nightcrawler.
Superheros are just for little kids? I'll be sure to remember that next time I read Hellboy or Animal Man or modern Daredevil.
Daredevil is cool, the movie could've been better. I thought the Hellboy movie was ok…
No love for that hero of heroes, the one and the only Dog Welder?
I mean, come on, it's all well and good to be a superhero when you're invulnerable or have magic powers, it's something else entirely to stand against the Forces of Evil when your only ability is to weld dead dogs to people. Any man that is capable of that deserves respect.
On a more serious note, Spider-Man easily takes the prize. The poor bastard just keeps plugging along in a universe filled with beings that could squash him like a bug.
spiderman. he's … AMAZING!
goes off to pretend that doesn't own spiderman -sheets, figure, pillow, socks and loads of other random shit
i'm just way, way too cool. huzzah!
Oh yeah, I forgot about Animal Man. I only read the issues by Grant Morrison though.
Marvel = Spider-Man
DC = Batman
Other = Hellboy
Out of those three though, Spider-Man. I'm a Spider-Man fantatic. :laugh:
Tending to move away from superheroes in my comics (again). The ones I would call my favorites would be Batman (and supporting cast), Deadpool, The Hulk, Hellboy (who I don't see as a superhero but since everybody else is counting him…) and I think that would be about it. With the right writers I really like Ultimate FF and Ultimate Thor (the way they are handled by Ellis in Ultimate Secret is great ) but I probably wouldn't mark them down as faves.
@Cap'n:
I was really disappointed they never used him in the JLU cartoon; hell, they even mentioned him once but he was never on screen. He'd be much better comic relief than Flash.
Oh, I forgot to say…I read that they aren't allowed to use him or something, but they haven't said why (even though they were able to mention him). Same thing with some other characters like most of Batman's villains (who they are using on that other Batman cartoon), Blue Beetle, and now Aquaman (although they used him before, but can't anymore - which is why they changed Black Manta to Devil Ray). Some people say it all has to do with television rights or something.
To say the least, an amusing show…
Yeah Captain Kuro, copyrights really get in the way. It's really a shame sometimes.
freakazoid!?
an awesome hero of complete and utter righteousness….
It isn't copyright, it's the fact that the villians were marked for use in The Batman, and the suits at WB think that kids are too stupid to understand more than one version of a character.
At least, that's what the rumor is.
Uh, maybe this should just be "favorite comic book character?"
PS: Blue Beetle waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
My favorite superhero while no other then SOGEKING! DON!
tho my favorite is the green lantern followed by the batman

Well, for Blue Beetle and Plastic Man, the rumors are that some other companies hold the television rights - because Plastic Man had an old cartoon, and Blue Beetle was going to have one a long time ago or something, and the companies/whoever still has the television rights for them (Blue Beetle did appear in the JLU based comic, since it wasn't on TV). But it's all just speculation anyway…there's been no official announcement regarding it.
The good ol Superman in era when superhero don't have identity crisis and sort ofs.
Ah you know, I wish I could find the orchestrated original Superman theme song. Man, that was good.
Spiderman rocks (if only because of his costume), and like Carter put it, he has some awesome enemies; Green Goblin, Venom, Morlun…
As for Gag heroes, I've always liked freakazoid and Earthworm Jim, but Darkwing Duck tops the list for me. GOD I loved that show! I know the Danish theme lyrics off by heart...
Oh yeah, I forgot about Earthworm Jim. I loved him. He was the biggest thing in my life back when he first came out. I remember going ballistic when I heard about the sequel. It's too bad nobody's doing anything with him anymore.
BTW, doesn't this thread belong in media?

Unless you bought the games…then you can still attack things and blast walls...thats about it.

This thread belongs to the loving people who count on their hero one day coming and rescuing them from the perils of life…technically that is the media...but STILL. :wacko:

Thanks, you are my new superhero XD
Hmm, media would be your favourite superhero show, but favourite superheroes are of HEART!
