You all remember Furby? The electronic toy phenominon of 1997? I'm sure most of you have owned one sometime during your lives.

I got one for my 12th birthday. I still have it today. It has tiger-pattern fur with a white tummy. It was a lot of fun for the first year or so, but then it turned evil. Instead of saying "Me love you!", it would say "Me love WRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHWAWAWAWAWA you!". o_o I took its batteries out shortly afterwards…

But now, I'm interested in the new evolved 2005 Furby. It's twice the size of the original. It can show emotions through facial expressions. It can recognize voices. And get this....it has an on/off switch!!! I'm going to wait until Hasbro releases a completely black Furby. As soon as they do, I'm rushing out to buy one!

Ah, I remember Furby. I always pestered my mom to buy me one back when it originally came out. She never did. The only furbies I ever got where a few that were released as happy meal toys from McDonalds. I don't even have them anymore. I donated them to charity a few years back.

Interesting to see that they're bringing him back.

Furbies are strange. I remember when I and my niece both got a Furby. It was odd, but both of them stopped working at the same time in the same way. They refused to wake up. Every time we'd try to get them to do something they'd say "sleeepy" and go back to sleep and never wake up, ever.

Same here, except I actually had one. My grandma randomly gave me one for Christmas even though I never expressed any remote interest in the stupid bastards (quite the opposite). I turned it on and after a minute I took the batteries out and sentenced the fucker to life in my closet without parole.

OMG! Mine turned evil too! It made all those creepy weird noises and would just start talking whenever it wanted it. FURBIES ARE TRYING TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD! RUN!

You guys are mean ;_; My furbies never went evil. Well Kan-dah (which I believe was his name) stopped working after he fell off this cart he was on when we were moving… poor guy :( But Lulu, and the other two (yes two) and the Furby baby and the Shellby still worked. =D Yes I was a tad obsessed.

If anyone cares, I got Kan-Da for my birthday, Lulu was going to be a gift to my younger cousin but my mom decided to let me keep it because she figured at the time he was too young to own a furby (??) I wanna say Leelee was my brother's but he didn't like her because she had a high pitched voice. Instead, I kept Leelee (I felt sorry for her ;;) so he got a Halloween one. It was another high pitched voice one but not as high. Her name was Bobay (which means scared in Furbish ^^) I got the Furby Baby for Christmas... it made a lot of noise though and didn't talk loud so I never knew what the damn thing wanted. Then the Shellby I don't remember... but he was uber cute XD

So yes I saw these new ones one day and thought about buying one but I'll see. I don't want to get too over obsessed again >.>

Funny you mention Gizmo, they actually made a Gizmo-Furby before they went the way of the dinosaur. :laugh:

Ironicly enough, everyone here wanted one of the damned things and in the end they turned out to be one of the most annoying toys ever made and were properly thrown in the closet, with the batteries removed of course.

Then there was that whole issue where some people tried to get them taken off the shelves and thrown out of homes because they believed that they were created by terriorist to spy on Americans. Weird, huh?

i was at the local department store one day and saw them in the selling racks. one was able to poke their bellies so that they could say something, so obviously i was there with my fingers all loaded for action. for that, i am now scarred for life.

I remember seeing those giant furbies in arcades. o.o Man if you thought normal furbies were scary those would scare the crap out of you. I also remember on VH1 "I love the 90's" when they talked about furbies. Hillarious. XD

I still have Furby… My Furby baby is in the basement, but my real first furby, Tolu, (Who does not work anymore) still exists in my room even till today as a desk ornament right next to my nightmare before christmas, Simpson, and FullMetal Alchemist figures

I'm actually interested in getting one of these new ones...

FYI, I'm just one of those people who loves cute and cuddly things, which is Ironic, becuase I also love violence, blood, gore, death, destruction, etc (As long as no one cute is getting hurt >.>)

I might as well stop posting here, since obviously these is a "Furby bashing" thread, so I should avoid it to avoid getting any more pissed off than I already am right now...

and I am also aware I am about to be made fun of for my love of Furby's, Pikachu, and all other cute icons who pretty much piss every one off... But meh, I don't care, if you flame me just for that, then it just shows that you suck...

I had 2 of them when I was younger. I remember once I was studying and out of nowhere (the thing wasn't even on) it said, boring….boring...I was like WTF!

Then when the batteries was low, he sounded really slow and it was soo scary. I will never own another Furby ever again!
