Hachi, Kuroobi, and Chu

I've recently started wondering who can be considered the strongest out of Arlong's top 3 henchmen. Hachi, Kuroobi, or Chu?

Hachi has the least amount of brains of the three. However, his six arms and creative attacks make him a tough foe. Zoro had a great amount of difficulty dealing with Hachi, but this was mostly due to the wound inflicted by Mihawk. It took Zoro two attempts to bring down Hachi. I think if Zoro had been in top shape, he would have taken out Hachi in a heartbeat.

Kuroobi appears to be the smartest of the three, as well as being the most skilled in battle. Kuroobi really had Sanji on the ropes during thier underwater battle. Not to mention punching Sanji through a stone wall. Yet, as soon as the battle was taken to dry land, Sanji completely owned him. But unlike Zoro, Sanji was at full strength.

Chu's ability to suck up water and spit it out rapid fire really put on Usopp on the run…litterally! One punch from Chu was enough to knock down Usopp. But Usopp was able to defeat Chu through quick thinking, trickery, and projectiles. As well as the famous, "USOPP HAMMER!!!". Like Sanji, Usopp was also at full strength for this battle.

After my observations, I have ranked the three mermen as follows, strongest being at the top of the list, weakest being at the bottom:

Hachi

well its really a tough thing to decide. zoro is most definatley the second if not strongest straw hat, he can bet the rest easily other then luffy. plus sanji,zoro,and usopp much like kurobi,hatchi, and chu have different fighting styles. also each fought an opponent with a style similar to theirs. but if i did have to put this in an order i would have

hatchi
chu
kurobi

my reasoning for this is because, hatchi has swords, thus making kurobi an easy target being someone who uses kung fu. if hatchi had less then 6 swords i might think otherwise i would think differently. also hatchi could possibly easily block the shots by chu so he could just block them and get closer and slice and dice the freak.

chu would be second because while he may be able to lose to hatchi kurobi is once again an easy opponent. chu could use the usopp tactic to simply deafeat kurobi. while kurobi may be better close up chu could run and shoot back. kurobi cannot block the shots due to their power. and if he were to use a smart tactic or even get somewhere he could hide and steathly attack kurobi would just be a sitting duck.

Um… You do know that Chu needs to suck up water BEFORE he does that Water Cannon, right? On dry land with no water nearby, he'd be screwed, close combat or not.

Hachi is an idiot, but being the #2 swordsman of Fishman Isle should count for something...

Kuroobi, however, seems to be the most well-balanced of Arlong's three adjutants. His attacks are equally deadly on land, sea, and air, and he's by far the smartest of the Fishmen (minus Arlong). Him being owned by Sanji is a slight incidence as, hey, this is the guy who can kick twelve times in an instant and break rock with one stroke; it's not much shame losing to someone as monstrous as that, Fishman or not.

correction to Lalala: Zoro isn't the second strongest strawhat, he's the 3rd strongest. Nico Robin is the 2nd strongest, and the 1st strongest is obvious.

for the Hachi Karubi and Chu, I'd have to say it this way:

Chu's my personal favorite out of the three because he's so cool, but I'll have to admit he isn't the strongest.

Of course the 1st strongest of the strawhats is Nami, so obvious. Her climatact blows everyone away :D

Hachi took a lot of damage from Zoro, and still lives. Sure he's an idiot, but he's pretty strong, and he's able to use swords. Kurobi has more strength than Chu, and of course Chu needs water for his most powerful attack

ah i thought i wouldn't have to explain. sorry for going off-topic but. i too at first thought robin. but while she has her devil fruit zoro is no dobut alot more physically stronger. so even if she were to use her hands or whatever he could break out of it. and if he were to cut her hands it would damage her real hands which was pretty well demonstrated in alabasta. and we never saw luffy and zoro duke it out to the death. they did fight in whisky peak but they were pretty equal and were interupted. zoro has the swords giving him a great advantage though.

It's really dependent on how you play restrictions.

We know Chuu can shoot right through a human body with ease. But, as said before, remove the water to shoot, and he's nothing more than a bishonen with strange body odor. XD

It's important to note Kuroobi is NOT dead against Hatchi; in Nami's flashback, he's shown weilding two swords quite effectively to savage Genzo.

I might propose something else though: they've been away from Fishman Island for eight years or more. Hatchi's skills may have weakened in that time, or he may have been second best out of a relatively weak pool of swordsmen. I think he was vastly overpromoted as a swordsman, Zoro as a foe or not.

Kuroobi beats Hatchi… but on the other hand, who'd fight such a cute face? :D

Chuu without his single trick arsenal is weakest.

Anyways, Hachi gets cut up badly and is still able to move. Kurobi gets kicked through building and stays down. Of course Sanji's kicks are strong, but getting cut up is painful too. Quick question, isn't Hachi 2nd in command?

Being kicked through a building is a concussion injury; it's likely to cause unconsciousness. In contrast, being slashed is a pain injury, you'd need a lot of pain or blood loss to knock you out.

I think Hatchi's 2nd in command, but I think it's likely since they're together since Jinbei.
Notice how Hatchi and Arlong have the same tattoo. Kuroobi's sun-like tattoo seems different, and Chuu doesn't have one at all. I'd expect they both got the sun tattoo under Jinbei.

Kuroobi seems the mopst powerful of the three. And his peformance was the mmost immpresive. THough it is also arguable that sanji wasn't uo to zoro or luffys level at the time. But if uninjuried I believe Zoro could've taken Arlong.

What really interestes me is there counterparts. The lvl 50 fishman karte, the greatest Gyojin swordsmen and the gyogin wo could shoot water through a ships hull. I think thats what I heard. But I think the fights between them will be much more intense; and longer as well.

When I first saw Kuroobi he seemed totally brain-dead. I wouldn't say he's the smartest out of the three at all. Chuu seems to be the brains of the trio, since he's the weakest in hand-to-hand combat. Remember, he was the one who initiated the whole scheme to kill the Marine officer that was coming to check up on them. Hatchi is probably the strongest in hand-to-hand combat since he had to fight Zoro, who is the toughest out of him, Sanji, and Usopp. Kuroobi's strong and cunning, but when it comes down to it, I see it going like this:

How much Chuu planned the retaliation is ambiguous.

He did say "let's just the three of us go, instead of a whole raging crew.", but it's not clear if he specified "I'll shoot the captain, you move the reef, you sink the ship" It could have been a ready-prepared defence plan, or each person telling what he can do best.
