If a One Piece MMO ever comes out I'ill confirm buy it.
Onepiece world seems to be perfect for a MMOG.

World Of One Piece Features

Play as Marine or Pirates.

As you gain level as a Marine your rank will increase.
Private- Corperal- Sargent- and so on

As you gain level as a Pirate your bounty will increase too.

4 starting points. One in each blue.
Grandline for high level characterss.
Travel to exotic and new places.

Interact with thousands of players.

What do you think
There's still the problem of pirate crews, Devil Fruits (everyone will want one).

I personally don't real think that it's suited for a such computer game since it would be hard to get the devil's fruits in.

I think an MMO pirate-themed game in the One Piece universe would be fun. Something where you can choose to be a pirate, a marine, part of the government, a bounty hunter, a free adventurer, or a merchant… lots of choices really. You choose a basic skill and from that you can form crews.

The real One Piece characters should be NPCs, such that if you meet Foxy's crew, for example, they can challenge you to a Davy Back Fight. If you originate from East Blue, you need to get past Smoker in order to go into the Grandline.

Devil Fruits can be random "rare" event that can be found anywhere, but seldom occurs. And even if you find one, you need to do something to get it, like fighting a sea king or some other monster. You can choose to "equip" it or sell it for beri, just like in One Piece.

Oh man, that would be a hit!

This would be great.

And once you become a high level pirate you can choose to join the government as a Shichibukai. Or should the Shichibukai be NPC that appear randomly once your bounty gets high enough.

Also as a pirate you can choose to help the locals or terrorist them.

What about player vs. player.

I can see marine vs. pirate, pirate vs. pirate, bounty hunter vs. pirate.

The break between pirates and Marines would make for interesting choice of "alignment" since the game would be so different either way. As a pirate, you could run around beating up anyone you wanted, but Marines would be run out of the service for that. Of course, the Marines have the benefit of being able to go to most villages without being attacked. You could even have people playing as corrupt marines like Nezumi who are ripping people off on the sly.
I think there should be a third category, bounty hunters, for people who want a happy medium between 'completely lawless and hunted' and 'has to answer to superiors'.
For devil fruits, there would probably have to be some leniency in the numbers, otherwise only about thirty people would get to use them and it would be worse odds than the lottery. But they shouldn't be overused, either. Maybe make it like in the manga, something that's almost never encountered early on, but is fairly commonplace at high levels.

It would take years to create this game. By years I mean at least a decade….

god that game would be great. here's how id do it. yeah u start in all blues and go into the grand line, but you buy the software and a contrrol to attack. you gain levels and bounty. Also you can build up a pirate crew(or be on 1) and talk tot hem through the keyborad. knida like your buddy list. the soft ware lists who wanted really bad. every time you arrvie a town you save. their is also a save thing on your ship. you collect berries for yourself/crew. it's basiclly the fun of one piece. Note grand line is really hard!

Save? There is no saving in MMORPG's….it's autosave. If you get disconnected you don't lose anything. I think if they did this it should be based right after Gold Roger is executed. Right when the great pirate age begins.

That way the game can have in game events where all the big pirate groups like Shanks' and Whitebeard's and all the Shichi Bukai are building up their power.

Devil fruits will cost a ridiculous amount of money just like they do in the manga so stumbling acrossed one be of complete luck or after a long time of leveling and saving up your money. Until then you're just like any other pirate.

There could also be a swordsman class and a theif class.....and an animal class for the chopper fans. Usopp would be a prime example of a pirate in the game without devil fruit powers. Strong enough to defeat a merman with a little luck and a lot of skill....but you'd rather just get the devil fruit.

Devil fruits could also be random drops off of NPC's (non playable characters, like Shanks) and some noob at lvl 1 might have a .00001% chance of stumbling over the same fruit that Ace uses.

Some many different things to think about with this game though....and for people to not bitch it would have to be perfect. That's why i say it'd take at least a decade.

That's the thing. Nobody would be ble to do it right and we'd all be bitching about how it sucks and how much better it could be….like all MMORPGs.

Ive got a solution for the devil fruit thing. What if you place secret maps in secret locations, then if someone finds the map they can go to the island on the secret map, but they have to fight extreamly hi level enemies and even a boss monster to get to a chest that contains the fruit!

A RPG akin to Oblivion or Fallout 3 would be the best option, I'm sure that, by the time One Piece ends, the technology that exists would be enough for the entire world of One Piece to be put in the game.

It would be awesome but we all know that isnt probably coming for at least the next coming 10 years they would have to do MASSIVE improvements on technology to fit such a world in a game.

and in ten years there are a lot off new characters and maybe then the series will end so we will see and wait for it

Well i think if its going to be done it should be done in an extremely good way perfectly recreating OP world and stuff like that and put it as an alternate universe or something so that we dont "interrupt" the canon.

Well i meant as in a major MMO for going around the entire world of OP doing adventures. I just meant that the MMO wont be canon ofc while we still can interact in whatever way with the straw hats, yonkou, and getting our pirate fleets decimated by 1 man in a coffinboat.

It would be the most awesome thing ever to have a OP MMO, however it's highly unlikely. Just like the idea of a Pokemon one. I mean, they have a Digimon MMO but… it's less than steller :^(

Actually Dragon Ball Online came out
It's just not being released in the West (although there's still a chance)

Again, if done well a One Piece MMO would be great, but if it's on the level of Unlimited Cruise it'll be disappointing.

I don't have a problem with Unlimited Cruise but it won't work as a (good) MMO.

As i recalled only a beta of DB online was out not the game itself.

I think this is something that can be done AFTER Oda completes his masterpiece.

Oda can then devote some time to it, and by then who knows, maybe MMO development will enable such complicated games to be made

Of course this is merely a thread bringing up the idea even the technology at this time would not be sufficient to create such a magnificent world as the one of one piece.
