Poochy had me rolling.
Now that is just crazy!! next you'll be seeing Piglett with a male companion who is really called John but likes to be called "Petal" :luagh:
Why they gotta eff with the classics?
I'm disappointed.
I just found these really funny:
Disney execs say the idea is to bring an older audience to an iconic franchise.
We hope people will fall for this new tomboyish girl. The last thing we want to be is the ones who brought the franchise down.
Disney sure has been doing a good job preserving classics these past few years!
Wow, Disney are so creative and innovative! I wonder if there are any of their franchises left that they haven't watered down completely?
You know what? I'm getting sick an tired of the Catholic Church and all those other moral groups acussing every fictional male couple of being gay! Enough already! First Spongebob and Patrick, and now this crap! People like this really need to be hung upside down for their stupidity. What the hell is wrong with two guys being friends?! Answer me that! It's like you see two guys talking together, and you immeadiately thing "Oh my God, you two are homosexual! That's blasphemy!". Fucking homophobes. And that, Arlong Park is what grinds my gears.
cries Why would they do that! Oh the horror! This is just so wrong. For same Disney! For shame!
What the hell did they do that for!? Never mess with the classics!

Is that why they're replacing Christopher Robin? Because he's Pooh's gay friend?
…
So bestiality is OK as long as they're different sexes?
Apparantly, yes.

Who the hell has ever sat down to watch Winnie the Pooh and thought that Christopher Robin and Pooh where engaging in gay bumlove?! These people need to be hunted down and given a nice big slap accross teh floor head with a wooden plank. The creator of Winnie the Pooh wanted to create something all kids and parents can sit down together and enjoy, not a show that secretly tells kid to drop their pants and engage in homosexual activities!!!
Well this is pretty screwed up right here. Do they have any idea how many episodes Christopher Robin has been in? Not to mention a movie entitled "Pooh's Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin." Why must they change this 80-year tradition? Disney has a lot of money, they shouldn't have to worry about getting sued by those stupid people with thier disgusting minds!!!
Anyone who has ever read Winnie the Pooh knows that it's about friendship. Not about hot, homosexual mansex.

Because tradition < money.
im not really bothered by this. i always despised him due to i have the same name. and i would appreciate it if no one else said chrisopher robin is pooh's gay friend… but i agree with the whole don't mess with the classics stuff, like they want to make cookie monster the vegetable monster, soon they'll be messing with the count, and before you know it they'll be me......wait...did that say attract and older audience? i doubt thats gonna happen.

I think the catholic church and those groups just get bored, and to act like there acually doing something, they bash cartoons that are aimed at little kids, like winnie the pooh and spongebob. And even if the creators made them gay on perpose, as long as it teaches equality and exceptance, whats wrong with that?
I've heard about this already, and yes, it is bull.
One of the biggest things is that I tend to see Christopher Robin has being the "wise" person who brings order to the naivety of his toys. If they replace it with some crazy, tomboyish girl, that just defeats the entire purpose of it.
Besides that, the toys BELONG TO CHRISTOPHER ROBIN.

That sounded a bit… harsh, but I kinda understand what you're saying.
Yes, thanks to Political "Correctness", everything gets taken the wrong way these days…
Just saw this and had to post it here…
It's what Pooh thinks about all this...
Oh for the love of . . . . . . . bashes head onto desk WHYYYYYYYY!!!!!??
Classics are not messed with! This show will tank, it seriously will. I shudder to think of what will happen here in Japan, they LOVE "Pooh-san."
And yes, it is ridiculous about those stupid gay remarks. Oh god forbid a boy love his toys and show some actual affection. At the rate they're going boys are going to be afraid of having any male friends at all.
NOT EVERYTHING IS SEXUALLY MOTIVATED, DAMMIT!!!!
Doesn't matter a bit to me, the only Winnie the Pooh cartoons I'd show my kids are the original classics I watched as a boy. The rest aren't worth watching anyway.

Well said, fool. Your subway ticket is number six hundred and sixty six. Please ride again.
…
Firstly, Catholics are the most liberal christian church. That's not saying there are extremists that number amidst its ranks, but not even Pope John Paul II or Benedict XVI are the most "conservative" of Catholics, as such, every Pope since John XXIII has been "liberal" in comparison to the true radicals, who are evangelicals. Evangelicals can number admist any relegion, but they are PRIMARILY protestant, and in particular, baptist protestant. Even then, not all evangelicals are fundementalists.
Truth be told, what we have here are a small minority of first baptists who have the audacity to point out the most minor of social offenses. Despite their size, they have a booming voice, such that less radical factions are forced into submission. In other words, when one boy cries wolf, the whole town gets spooked and decides to take action.
That's kinda sad and disappointing… Christopher Robin is the sole reason the stories even exist... what, being the creator's son and all.
(sarcasm on) Though they're making this dramatic change, I'm sure they're keeping in the spirit of the overall story, just the way the author intended (sarcasm off)
I guess the producers felt that these stories had just way too much testosterone to appeal to girls.XD
nervous twitch I cannot think of one single girl who finds Winnie the Pooh too "boyish". (I know you're making a joke, but I'm still ruffled about the whole thing)
Y'know why I like Christopher Robin? Because he's a genuinely kind and caring young boy with some damn manners! He's a far better role model for boys then over half of the dumbasses most boys are hand-fed.
