That's what we'll be doing sometime later this month. But since we'll have plenty of "us" time (minus EGX), as two huge OP fans we figured…
This December we want everyone and anyone who wants to come to get the hell over here and have some fun in NYC.
We'll still have fun if there are no takers, but it'd be really cool to share some of the best places in NYC with OP fans.
DETAILS
We will be arriving at 10:04AM at Penn Station. At that time I suggest anyone who is coming into New York via Penn Station meet us there. Originally I thought Broadway would be a good idea but there isn't an early morning bus so we won't be coming in through Port Authority.
WILL ANYONE BE COMING IN THROUGH PORT AUTHORITY?
If not, I suggest, to keep things simple, we all meet at the Penn Station Krispy Kreme donut store.
That said, the tentative time to begin gathering will be:
MEETING 10AM PENN STATION: KRISPY KREME DONUT SHOP
This is not to say we're going to take off at 10AM like a bat out of hell. We will wait for anyone until 10:30. I think that should be enough time for everyone coming in by any form of mass transit to reach that point. If it is a problem for anyone of course this can be revised and even if something happens on the day of, don't sweat it. It is ridiculously hard to get lost in NYC and we're living in the age of cellphones so we WILL meet up with you.
Again, the meeting location is subject to change if there are a number of people coming in through Port Authority, obviously that would complicate things a bit more so I'll wait for feedback.
As far as when this ends, that depends on you guys. You've seen the list of what we can do and there's a helluva lot more than that which we could potentially do. However, I know I personally tend to be overly optimistic in judging my body's capacity for hours spent in NYC. If we get everything done we want to do, I would be happy taking a 9PM bus or train back home. However, if for one reason of another you're a bunch of crazy people, then we could also take an 11PM bus home.
PERSONALLY I think it would be best to start winding down at 8 o'clock or so considering the wide age group we're dealing with and if the older group wants to go and have fun without some of us, more power to them.
Thoughts opinions ideas? I can't research time for everyone but now you know the timeframe we have to work in so if we could reach an agreement by the 21st that would be super.
One of these days I may be visiting my family up there in NY.
