I only watched a few weeks worth of episodes, but it was average at best.
Loved the episodes with Mad Mod. Though the one where he took over the city was a little weird in the end when they managed to win after learning the true meaning of Independence Day.
Aww, sucks. I heard Impulse was supposed to join later too.
CN cancels some of the best shows, Samurai Jack, Megas XLR and now JLU. For shame CN. For shame.
CN really are starting to annoy me eventhough I haven't watched much of the new season it still burns me up I mean they cancel all the good shows and leave the bad ones on Code Lyoko, YuGiOh GX, Krypto,Ed,Edd, & Eddy, Tickle U (even if it is a block of kid cartoons it has no place on CN).
Eh. Didn't care for it in the first place. Now Justice League and Megas XLR on the other hand…
Yea Megas XLR there was no excuse for that.
Wow, thank Larry Appleton!
I'm kinda glad. It was kinda lame, in my opinion.
I still have no idea why they cancelled Megas, though. That show was GENIUS.
Yeah, I heard about it a few days ago. I'd be sadder if the current season didn't seem so bland to me, but still.
I've never really watched Teen Titans (never show it on the CN here) but it will really upset my TT loving… friend. As for Megas XLR is super but as Sandai said... there is no excuse for cancelling a show that genious ('genious' stolen from Cap'n Carter). But the CN I watch hasn't cancelled it but I still think it's stupid to cancel the super show.
oh! And never forget the ever dying POPtv.
agreed. i liked the part with trigon and slade and though it was going to end there. as said earlier mad mod was cool. but by far my favorite was slade. and also as has been said before why did they cancle megas? it was the best cartoon to be american made. i want it back =(. although actually i believe that it is on at like 5:30 A.M. one day a week
Megas XLR? What is that?
an american made cartoon. with a giant robot car. it parodies everything from giant robot shows to mr.t and yes there was someone called T.bot. its a hillarious show. it even did godzilla
Yeah, I thought it was a little campy, but entertaining. Man, I hated TT though. Once, I was about a split second from slapping my tv, but then I turned my hand on myself for watching it.
Sucks about JLU. I thought it was at least well done, even if I hate DC heroes.
Megas XLR was hilarious. It's one of those shows that made fun of all kinds of stuff, mostly a lot of 80's sci-fi type of cartoons. The one that made fun of G-Force/Battle of the Planets and Voltron was great.
Anyway, I did like Teen Titans, but I was starting to think that it was running out of ideas, I didn't really keep up with it much in the last season.
I too loved Megas. You could tell the people who did the show loved the movie "Army of Darkness" when they had Bruce Campbell cameo as Megnanimous.
What I loved about the show was the he usually won using guy logic. (Destroyed a planet eater by shooting soda and poprocks into his stomach.) And it had great music too.
Meh,TT Sucks.
Megas,on the other hand….......
I wouldn't call say Coop wins some let alone all of his fights using luck
Um…..this Megas show...it was on CN? Apparently I really HAVEN'T been watching much television ^O^
Well if your intrested and I stress the term if you can download some episodes off of eMule,Limewire, or some place called Moonsong
Sadly, canceling a show after a certain amount of episodes is common practice. They claim because of the expense of making cartoons, executives would create enough episode so they can run it everyday and make more money with no overhead.
Blink I watch TT…. when I remember.
T_T
WHY DID THEY HAVE TO KILL MEGAS XLR!? Whhhhhhy!? T_T
So….what do the majority of CN watch...? I thought TT was popular.
I wish I had enough faith in the kids of today to be able to say that they're not watching shit like Juniper Lee or PUFFYAMIYUMI, but I don't.
@Cap'n:

Frankly, I think the tastes of the kids are far less questionable than the people who watch things like 12 Oz Mouse, Squidbillies, and Tom Goes to The Mayor.
Anyway, the problem is less with ratings and more with the idiots running the network who want to turn it into Nickelodeon Lite.

Oh god, I can't stand most of the Adult Swim Comedy block these days. Espically 12 Oz. Mouse.
I think the guys in charge are trying to find something that can beat the popular cartoons on Nickelodeon, like the Fairy Oddparents and Spongebob. Which is a shame when decent shows get the chopping block like Megas XLR. Oh how I miss that show. I remember it even before it became a series.
Man, I love all of those Adult Swim shows you named. shrug I liked the fact that AS tried something different instead of simply becoming the Inuyasha/Family Guy channel.
@Zio:

You know, when I see a promo for it, I actually get angry over just how godawful the animation is. Whatever happened to bare minimum standards?

Pretty much, but they're abandoning what made the network so successful for almost an entire decade. They're actually developing live action shows and showing live action films, which they're justifying by claiming that any kind of movement is animation. Live action on CARTOON NETWORK.
Things like the live action Space Ghost or Harvey Birdman sequences have a place on CN as they have a direct relationship to animation and are not the overall focus of the show, but films and shows that have no relationship to animation have no business being on Cartoon Network.
For some reason they cancelled Dexter's Laboratory.
Well, with TT, JLU, and Megas gone, I don't think there's much left for me to watch on CN other than the occasional anime on AS or Toonami. I don't actually have cable, but I watch in other houses occasionally. Just about every new show to come out in the past couple of years have been very boring, imo.
Dexters's Lab still comes on…just no new episodes.
So anyway, this lame show is cancelled so I'm happy.
edit-
@nguyen:

Did you see the last few episodes of Dexter's Lab? They were as GODAWFULLY bland as could be. Not a hint of the clever wit the series used to have.
I like how Cartoon Network has been screwing up so bad that I hate shows I once liked. When the retarded newer Dexters came out, I was like "…yeah, Mandark was always kind of lame. Dexter too." It happened recently with Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy (hey, it was a fun show to watch), where they showed the show so much and made recent episodes so awful that I actually hate it now. That's an accomplishment.
The last I saw of Dexter was when they threw him and a bunch of other classics back on the "Cartoon Cartoon" block.
Meh, TT was okay. I never did get to see Megas XLR, but what I heard about made me want to so bad…
Why must entertainment try so hard to suck now?
I too loved Megas. You could tell the people who did the show loved the movie "Army of Darkness" when they had Bruce Campbell cameo as Megnanimous.
I knew it was his voice once he said "baby" i was like oh damn its bruce XD
" klatto verata niccoughcough*"
MEGAS was truely a work of genius; the first season, aside from a couple colouring errors (of which Toei appears to be guilty of, too) was flawless. Season two seemed, well, forced, but the "series finale", which was, I think, Mirror Mirror, Rearview Mirror allowed the show to go in a blaze of glory.
I think there was an extent to as far as the show could parody. I mean, aside from Pokemon, what DIDN'T Megas parody before the series ended? It was still awesome, though. Pity the 6-11 demographic can't fully experience parodies; but who could blame them? They haven't even seen the original shows that were parodied!
In regard to TT, I'm not surprised; it lived a good life. Better end it now, else fans grow bitter toward "unlife" later on.
In my opinion, most of the Toonami shows aim for a slightly higher demographic, even attempting to capture ours (which Megas did rather well).
For some reason they cancelled Dexter's Laboratory.
It started to suck reeeeaal bad. The Powerfuff Girls too. Even my mom noticed it. I blame the whole 'lets make a movie with l33t grafics' thing.
You know, when I see a promo for it, I actually get angry over just how godawful the animation is.
Seriously. I can understand crappy art for the sake of humor but it's more annoying than anything.
Birdman, Attourney at Law is pretty damn hilarious though. xD
Did anybody get how similar Juniper Lee and Jake Long are?
Megas…NOOOO!
They even cancelled JLU?
Aww man,it was awesome.
@Cap'n:
In my opinion, most of the Toonami shows aim for a slightly higher demographic, even attempting to capture ours (which Megas did rather well).
They do, but Megas didn't apply to a demographic insomuch as Anime Buffs. To an outsider, it's just a robot destruction show, which gets kinda boring; even with funny characters like Kiva, Jamie, and Coop, not getting the inside jokes takes away half the show. This is why The Daily Show is incredibly popular with the educated, but teens prefer Conan O'Brian. Furthermore, this is why Megas jumped alot on the Toonami block (from eight to ten and back up again) to "unlife" on Miguzi, which is likely where Megas would be least likely to develop a following.
I theorize that the same applies to the "half-baked" programme of William's Street AS block; most of the "humour" is self-contained, and any inside jokes are, to use an analogy, "open-door", such that it's easy to know the jokes fairly quickly. I never saw an episode of Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, but a couple trailers with that fat Hippo was enough for me to deduce the nature of that "thing he sent Harvey".
Also note the colour tones in show programming. Light material, such as that bloody Rave Master, was shown first; as younger viewers tune out, due to short attention spans, older viewers, coming from work and whatnot, tune in, but some younger viewers remain. This developing maturity of shows continues through JLU, Naruto, One Piece (had it been unedited; it's a bit out of place following Naruto), Bo-Bobo, and then…we get into the transition shows for AS, or, rather, the "lighest" material for AS; InuYasha and Fullmetal Alchemist. Both IY and FMA harken back to the old Toonami days from Y2K, in which serious Anime could be shown even if edited; however, despite its charm and appeal, FMA and IY still contain the blood and language to classify them into AS.
Notice that Ghost in the Shell, previously an 11:30 show (I think), has now been bumped an hour later.
It started to suck reeeeaal bad. The Powerfuff Girls too. Even my mom noticed it. I blame the whole 'lets make a movie with l33t grafics' thing.
Most of the old Cartoon Cartoon shows have "jumped the shark", as it were; everything except Foster's is of minimal quality, and cannot be compared to the highlight years of the shows. PPG: The Movie was actually given good reviews, but the show should have had a renaissance before releasing the movie. Heck, new episodes weren't produced until after the movie tanked.
I'm a Titans fan, but I must say this season was sucking anyway. The ;ast season was phenomenal, but the best episodes are still the humorous ones, Mad Mod, the Nosyargkcid ep etc. All shows must either end or be cancelled at some point. I must say that Toonami was much better when it was on in the aftyernoon. Although I'd miss One Piece (go ahead, shoot me) and Naruto, Ruroken was and still is (in my opinion) the greatest anime ever made. I dearly hope that CM wil come up with a good replacement for Teen Titans and hopefully 2006 will bring about a couple of frsh new shows.
@Mr.:

Isn't Nosyargkcid one of Robins alter egos ? ( Dick Garyson)
The Larry episode was hideously retarded.
The episodes I liked were boht of the Mad mod episodes, and the one with the True Master (mostly to see the Titans digging through Robin's stuff).
Control Freak was the ultimate 1-joke, unfunny and lame character. I have no idea who would think that he was a good idea.
Seriously. I can understand crappy art for the sake of humor but it's more annoying than anything.
Especially when it can be summed up as following:
Monotone statement.
Monotone response.
Monotone statement:
Random monotone observation.
Live action squirrel: SCREEEEEECH!
Bad animation throughout.
There, nobody ever has to watch 12 OZ Mouse again.
Birdman, Attourney at Law is pretty damn hilarious though. xD
I really like that show, which makes me wonder why the bulk of their recent original comedies are just plain bad.
Did anybody get how similar Juniper Lee and Jake Long are?
Yeah, they are. The most obvious difference is that the way Juniper Lee talks doesn't make me what to kill her. Jake Long, on the other hand, annoys the hell out of me.
I worry for CN. If you look at their schedule. During the day is filled with the same 10 cartoons played over and over again. I don't like the Adult swim comedy block. They're bascially the same. Cheap animation, and crass sophmoric humor. @Ubiq:

I remember seeing the first couple of episode. The VA for Jake Long must have laryngitis, because he does nothing scream his psuedo-hip lines.
Did anybody get how similar Juniper Lee and Jake Long are?
You mean both feature Asian supernatural reluctant heroes, who yearn for a nromal life. Have a secret crush on someone, have a annoying canine familiar, a loud younger sibling, old mentor who was a the previous "chosen" one. All wrapped up in psuedo hip cultural references, No haven't noticed.
Hahaha.
Good. I hope it disappears.
Cool. FINALLY CN is weeding out the garbage for a change.
I never really got into Megas. I watched a few eps and it was good but it's rarely aired in the UK (to the best of my knowledge) so I didn't get to watch it often.
JLU and TT were both pretty decent. I thought they made good use of the source material and I was interested in seeing what they could do with the two series, especially with the edition of Kid Flash in TT. I'd like to have seen him added to the main cast and actually stay as a permanent member.
I feel it’s annoying how the good or at least watch able series are cancelled. I’m annoyed Samurai Jack was cancelled, especially seeing as how they haven’t aired any eps in the UK after the baby one.
I just hope UK Toonami gets the second series of Rave, Naruto and Bobo-bo in the not to distant future.
I never really got into TT but I might give it a try (steal my friends DVD's :)).
Like some said I hate how CN turns the very good shows to crappy kinds like the new stuff from Dexters Lab and Ed, Edd, n Eddy. God do I wish they would bring back the old stuff I don't like JuniperLee or PuffyAmyYumi cause it feels like they just don't fit CN (more like nickelodeon).
Tom Goes to the Mayor is great. Uh…yeah, that's my commentary on original CN shows...
I don't see how anyone can hate that show, it's pretty clever and funny, and the hilarious style in which the show is done makes it even funnier.
I don't give a damn what you say, I still love 12 Oz Mouse.
I didn't get Cartoon Network until this year, so I haven't seen a lot of the shows.
But I like JLU (even though I've only seen a few episodes).
