I don't know if anyone has discussed this before as i've been away from the op manga scene for a few weeks now, but has anyone realized that luffy has already found a way to counter the Hie Hie fruit.
If he emits steam from his body, he should be able to counter the freezing effect, thus enabling him to thaw himself out.

I think it would be awesome if Usopp stands about a hundred yards away sniping Ao Kiji with flame stars and and other explosive materials, while Luffy beats the crap out of Ao Kiji in hand to hand combat, while Ao Kiji abilities are nullified by Usopp's arsenal.
It's kinda not Luffy's style to need help to beat someone. If he can't beat him alone, then he isn't the strongest man in the world so he can't be called a pirate king…
Chopper did thaw Luffy and the others. So, I think it's possible.
Also over heat might kill Luffy, he might break as Chopper said.

yes thats true, but i think its much harder to freeze a boiling kettle than it is to freeze a kettle which isn't…
also if you manage to freeze a kettle and you start boiling from the inside, it will eventually thaw out on its own (picture an electric kettle)

I agree, but the thing is, I don't think Ao would have that problem. I'm not sure, but I don't think Luffy can even do that steam trick again. But if he could, I think it'd be a moot point. If Luffy can emit steam from his body, I think Ao could just lower the temperature to make it normal or even colder if he wanted to.

Sorry, but salt (NACL) have no effect when it gets colder than -15 C, but you can get some salt which do, down to the temperature of -20 –> -30 C.
Franky can breathe fire. Just get him to take care of it.
That, or no will really bother to fight him again (except maybe a villain; remember, Aokiji isn't exactly a villain).

Remamber? Luffy tried to use "Gomu Gomu no Storm" On Aokiji but he was to fast for Luffy and uses "Ice Age" on Luffy very quickly. I wonder what happens if he uses "Gomu Gomu no Jet Storm" on Aokiji? Or "Gomu Gomu no Jet Gating Gun"?

Ahem, if you like to keep with that thought then look at the total picture. It´s not "you can do anything" what you tell the kids it´s the message that "you can deal with ice dudes" that you deliver to kids. And since ice dudes aren´t a thing that exist in the real world I don´t think that the message would be that much of a problem after all.

Guys, ever think Ao-Kiji might appear again after Luffy has defeated Rob Lucci? For some reason, Lucci just doesn't seem like a strong enough opponent to be the final bad guy of this arc. It looks as well as if the entire CP9 team is being heavily downplayed in the manga right now, with Blueno's easy defeat and the relatively short amount of time it took the Strawhats to reach CP9 once they arrived at Enies Lobby. I could be totally wrong on this one. Also Ao-Kiji is the whole reason why the Strawhats are involved in this whole ordeal in the first place, don't forget.
I still think the CP9 will be very formidable opponents but I don't think they're as "grand" as characters like Arlong, Crocodile and Enel. Not enough to be the final opponent anyway. Maybe Ao-Kiji is orchastrating this whole thing but once he realizes that his plan has gone to shit he appears and confronts matters himself. Maybe not.

I think it's good that the captain is always fighting the "Strongest" enemy, or rather the "captain" opponents. He is the captain, and Lucci is basically the "captain" of CP9, for instance. Of course, I think Oda should add in scenarios where Luffy's crewmates have specific reason to fight the strongest member of an opposing group, for instance, I really doubt Luffy will be the one to face off with Mihawk.

Wrong… we've barely seen him using his Devil Fruit powers yet. Keep in mind that Leopards have more choices to attack a human with, such as a tail or it's sharp teeth, or claws, therefore I don't think that it will merely be powered up Rokushiki. Look at Blueno for example. And besides, I think some might have mentioned the variations such as tekkai sai and rankyaku sen.
That's true, but really all the CP9 members have the same problem for me. They seem so….so BLAND.
Oh well, time will tell. Somehow I think that Aokiji turning up now would be way too early.
Well I'd be disappointed if Aokiji were to just show this late into the Arc. Lucci's not strong enough? The guy sliced Galley-La in two with a single kick! Luffy hasn't even shown that much destructive power on his own. Ao might show up when everyone's gone, but I feel like it's too soon to just have Luffy and him fight one of the three strongest soldiers in the world.
I'm with Janken Jack…too soon for a fight with Ao Kiji. I still find CP9 totally vanilla.
