I love this manga alot but it feels like only -I- have ever heard of it out of all my friends on and offline. I bought the 1st copy hen I was in Scotland for a week I normaly don't go for the 'omgsoprettyyoureyesfallout' art style but it was called Cross, my last name being Cross I was like 'Oh ha~' but I thought I'd yoink it for the train drive.
It's very christiany like all 'god this god that oh yay god' which I'm not a fan of [being not a god fearing person] but the plot is very, very, VERY good it's so dark and has alot of depth and drama in it. After only 2 volums I'm hooked.
Some storys are gory others just dark with a bitter sweet taste. One story has a woman who as a girl broke her mothers mirror and was never seen the same way again.
A mirror reflects an image but does it reflect a mans soul? was what they were getting at. Whoever looked at the woman they'd see someone dear to them, a mother, a lover, a sister or something else and the woman herself was unable to see skin on people.
The boy 'Cross' an exocist went with his father and cured the curse. Before he went him and the woman talked about what she looked like to him and he said a woman, his last client who he couldn't stop thinking about for whatever reason. She asked if she was beautiful and he said yes.
Once the curse was broke he ran back to the woman wanting to see what she REALLY looked like and to tell her she had herself back. The woman who looked like his 'crush' should I say was really an old woman, wrinkled and withered.
She asked is she was as beautiful as Shizuka [that woman] and he smiled and said yes.
I find that very good and bitter sweet. Other storys have gore and blood, sacrafices and the whole god VS the devil kind of thing.
It's NOT my tipical manga but I do enjoy it.
I recomend it to anyone.
But now.. has anyone ELSE read it? or HEARD of it? and what are your views?
