Well that´s what she told Usopp back then when she joined the Strawhats. Some people always questioned her integrity back then, but I don´t see why it should be wrong (yet).
Now that we know who Robin´s precious people were I´m looking forward for the speculations on why they were eliminated by the WG. I´m bringing in two options myself:
a) Robin´s parents were part of Roger´s crew and the WG wants to take everyone and their families down that belonged to that crew. The people of Ohara get eliminated by trying to protect her.
b) The people of Ohara are very knowledgeable people who´s ideals present a threat to the WG and therefore need to be eliminated.
Well I just thought I´ll throw in some debatable stuff as long as we´re all waiting for the translation.

Depends on how old he is; if he's about the same age as Shanks, then he'd be well into his teens by this point. Aokiji doesn't look very old, but the guy is essentially a walking cryonic chamber so he may not age at the same rate as everybody else.
If he is in his teens, then I could see him being a sailor or even an Ensign by this point. If he's already eaten his Devil Fruit, then I could see him ranked higher than that. A Logia Fruit should put him on the Marine hierarchy fasttrack. Anyway, if he was already in the Navy, then I wouldn't be surprised to see him since ten battleships would need quite a few people to run them.
As far as cameos are concerned, once again, five Vice Admirals, five old men at the top of the World Government.
Yep, which is why I suggested given the circumstance of Coby who hasn't even eaten a DF (not that we know of) it could very well be possible.
Rather than saying "this will happen" I just always like to throw out ideas.

I think he was joking. The way how I read the post, it´s not that he blames your avatar for slowing down the thread but that it personally distracts him from reading the post. At least that´s how I understood it.
And as far as Aokiji is concerned. Well I don´t see why he couldn´t have been there back then. After all Robin seems to remember him quite well while he tells to her "You´ve grown into a fine lady…"
Of course this proves nothing, but to me it appears that she is the only one who has changed that visibly. Of course in the situation Robin was with her feelings mixed up, she wouldn´t have countered "And you´ve grown into a fine man yourself..." but the thing is, if Aokiji was also much smaller in size and younger in age would he then give her the creeps the moment she saws him after such a long time.
As I said, I´m not taking what I elaborated as evidence. It´s just a web you could spin with that information. It makes plausible sense to me but at the same time it could be totally wrong.
And just to close this elaboration with a really stupid statement: All sci-fi stories that contain somehow the element of staying young through the ages are somehow built around the idea of freezing your body. Heck, even Doctor Kureha was surrounded by snow all the time! :ohmy: Well, wouldn´t Aokiji´s DF powers then be the perfect cure against rash aging?

I am very sure, for myself, that Aokiji was with the Buster Call-Strike Force when they annihilated Ohara.. He was surely an higher ranked officer… maybe not an admiral as now, but an Marine in a higher position.. I can't imagine it, that some lowly marine-guys are send around with Buster Call... The mightiest Force of the WG.. This isn't really a thing which could be handled by ordinary marines ^^

Precisely! We know they do have a past connection. But like I said in my post, even though we know Robin's whereabouts were "unknown" for 20 years, that's not to say he and she didn't have a run-in of sorts. Did it go unreported? Perhaps….We know his methods aren't exactly by the book.
Again, could be totally wrong but I just like to offer some other ways of looking at it.

It's not, five Vice Admirals accompany the fleet along with their various aides and the commanders of the battleships.
So a Buster Call could easily have ten or more Captains on top of the Vice Admirals as well as assorted other flag officers like Commodores.

anime doesn't originates a single thing. it's just some way to make a few more bucks out of a great manga and will not interfere in the flow of the writing. (/me hopes so)
if Oda started putting Franky in every single colour spread he would admit that he's the new mugiwara. but he's evil and likes to toy with us so i don't think we'll see Popeye again anytime before the end of the arc.

Well you never know. The last few pages of Franky's flashback does include a part relatively recent (you even see younger califa with different hair). So i mean you might see croc going like "come join me" etc

Wow, Robin's past, I didn't think we'd have two flashbacks so close together. I guess this is the most appropriate time to have it, though. Because we really need to understand why Robin is the way she is and is acting the way she's acting before we can really cheer on the SH's in full force.
I'm also amazed the forum hasn't crashed. Must be partly due to people getting used to going to the main site, the holiday, and lack of spoilers yesterday.The color spread is cute. I think it's going to be my desktop, nice and wintery.

I must say, though, that seven pages without a translation is quite...deep. Regardless, a fine chapter, although I think there was too much foreshadowing; we could all see how Oda was going to take a route like this, although I wasn't expecting Robin's parents to be already dead...
Furthermore, I feel a bit uncomfortable leaving off at this cliffhanger week, as people are undoubtedly going to make Naruto and other-Straw Hat parallels with this story. The last thing we need is everyone hating Robin from her stubborness earlier, only to be carried foreward trough the flashback.
Also...Buster Call can be considered the OP equivalent of the Spanish Armada; I doubt that is a laser.

Maybe it's me, but Robin was scrunched down behind a wall. Unless she's bellowing this story I can't imagine it being anymore than something going through her mind. Franky didn't spend time inbetween being tortured to relate a fond old tale of shipwright chums.
Plus, Luffy never did care about his crew's past. I couldn't see him standing still for 30 seconds to listen to a story like that.

If there is a buster call, unless Oda wants to end the series by having the Mugiwara die, Shanks or Ace WILL come and save their asses. I can see Luffy's group beating the CP9 - though that will still be a huge challenge - but they have no chance in hell against a buster call.
Btw I thought that someone translated on page 3 or so, or was that not actually a translation?

Though it involved the oh so popular "who fights whom" Topic.In my dream i was seeing Kaku and Jyabura beating the crap out of Sanji and Zoro. All the while Lucci and pandam were laughing while Nami/usopp and Chopper where shitting their pants. Luffy alone stood firm and telling Chopper, that they wouldnt lose.
That was soon followed by a wet dream i had….details of which i cannot disclose. I remember waking up and then going WTF as i brushed my teeth <_<
