Well, the Urusei Yatsura revival was pretty good, so now they're doing Ranma!
Looks good! It is SO weird seeing this with modern animation, while still recreating all the classic shots exactly. It sounds like most of the original cast is returning? I definitely recognize Kappei Yamaguchi
and Megumi Hayashibara and Ranma, and Akane is a little harder to judge but I think that's still Noriko Hidaka.
(I doubt the dub cast follows suit... they changed several actors midway and most of them aren't really working anymore. Ryoga was the only voice I was really fond of anyway.)
Urusei Yatsura had aged a lot more so the difference was really stark in animation and they had to recast everyone... and I didn't know it as well so I didn't have as much room to compare. I imagine they're probably going to take a similar route here where they do a "greatest hits" and do most of the big Ranma stories in ~50 episodes, including actually doing the ending this time. The original anime and OVAs only covered about half the series... but entire second half of the manga was pretty much weirdo of the week, so not much will be lost skipping a lot of that to get to the ending.
