Saw a video recently talking about Crunchyroll possibly taking one piece off the service due to a lack of storage on the laptop they use, does anyone else know anything about it? (also first post? lets go.)
One Piece being taken off of crunchyroll?
-
-
I doubt they store THE ENTIRETY of the One Piece episodes available on Crunchyroll on a gosh darn laptop.
-
Hey welcome!
Where did you hear about this laptop? Might be good to know who is spreading weird information around
-
Crunchyroll is far too big to be storing their data on a measly laptop, lol.
I think things have been incredibly secure and organized on the streaming end, especially ever since Funimation accidentally leaked that one simulcast episode before it aired in Japan in 2009.
-
Can't believe Hunter Biden's laptop contained all of One Piece
-
Its on a server for sure they cant fit all that stuff on a laptop but not a huge one at that, but I heard in a video it was possibly gonna happen, have you heard anything about it though?
-
Well, what video was it? Can you link it? It just seems like an attempt at fearmongering.
-
@Cinder OH SORRY I COULDNT FIND IT AND FORGOT TO REPLY LOL, it was some pretty big One Piece creator, looking back it was pretty silly, but it was a genuine video at that.
-
@auz56 said in One Piece being taken off of crunchyroll?:
some pretty big One Piece creator
Yeah, content creators generally tend to value sensationalism over reality. I take everything whose source is a YouTube video with a massive grain of salt.
Also there's no way Crunchyroll is gonna mess up with One Piece, considering how big it is. They'll treat the dub like an afterthought of course, but they'd be pretty boneheaded to screw up One Piece outside of some rights issues.

I agree with Kitsune, the closest Crunchyroll was to dropping One Piece was back when they were Funimation and there was a HUGE HIATUS many think was because Funimation was considering not continuining the dub, but funding from the Japanese Goverment saved the day.
