Looks like next week is a filler episode.
Not a complete filler arc, but looks like next week we’ll see some goodbyes that were skipped over in the manga. A welcome change given the rushed nature of the ending.
Yeah, definitely something I would count as a "fix" instead of a filler. Leaving us with a "they said goodbye to everyone offscreen" was not a very good choice considering how incredibly long this arc was.
And talking about fixes, they also slightly changed the Carrot scene ending, making it look like she her accepted her new role willingly (while in the manga we basically only have her being forced into it against her will).
And so, the Mokomo Dukedom, which had stood for hundreds of years, collapsed in the span of only one since it turns out that appointing someone who's never shown any skill or interest in leadership ruler is a terrible idea.
Unless he plans to revisit her in a cover story or later in the main plot somehow I still don't understand how Oda thought that resolution for Carrot would land after he gave her arguably worse than nothing during Wano and did absolutely no legwork to make it believable and having she herself point out that it doesn't make sense before being gaslit doesn't plaster it over. She was one of the characters done the most dirty coming out of this arc, IMO.
Speaking of failing upward, I forgot that this episode's/chapter's namesake was basically just a quick throwaway info dump and we didn't get to actually see Buggy, Mihawk, and Crocodile for a few more chapters. I'm looking forward to the next episode because Wano the arc really needed two or three more chapters to properly send this giant cast herd that we've been following for a decade off, but it's being overseen by the weakest director the anime currently has on tap so I hope the script is up to snuff.

It's by far the dumbest decision ever made.
Hell, if they wanted Carrot to stay, it should have been done so that Wanda and Shishilan took over, and Wanda requests for Carrot to help her out. That would have gone over far better and doesn't require much development.
Not other way around.
But she carries Pedro's will! And she spent a couple months travelling, Carrot is totally qualified to be leader of the Minks!
Yeah, not really sure where Oda is going with this one. Considering how sidelined the Minks (And Carrot in particular) were during this arc, I don't get why he just didn't have them leave off screen.
Looking forward to next week though, any attempt to fix this arc's rushed mess of an ending, no matter how small, is welcome.
Getting whatshisname who has beef with carrot to be the only one to make it up only to serve as an opponent for the cat when he has zero conflicting interest or vested agenda against him over carrot was such dogwater writing that everytime I'm reminded of it I get so fucking angry.
Knowing what Carrot's fate was, her presence and screen time during WCI suddenly gets clear: Oda was showing us the next leader of the Mink Tribe while stablishing a close connection between her and the SH/Luffy.
What really lacked was a moment in Wano that could consolidate what she gained during that time. Something that would showcase the experience she gained while also showing any leading skills (something we never saw from her). It wouldn't take a long ass fight to show that, could be something as short as Killer x Hawkins. It didn't even need to be a fight, it only had to be a moment that focused on her. But we never really got that, instead all we got was her looking bad by blindly purchasing a personal revenge (that never made much sense) and, in doing so, neglecting the real objectives the army had in there... and still failing in doing that, having to rely on the previous generation to finish the job.
@Kaiolino ya but it looks fine I guess
